Guest Reviews
- Steven (7/5): -
- Jill (8/5): Very clean and comfortable. - Traffic noise was a bit more than I thought but not really disruptive.
- saman (10/5): Nice cozy comfy - Had class Nothing
- Lockyer (2/5): - The property needs to be looked at they have steps at front which are in poor shape. We fell on them an we are both bruised and sore.
- Frankham (9/5): -
- Deana (8/5): Can’t complain….. - Very quaint and charming once one got in.
Well presented and organised. The bed needs a new firmer mattress, too little lighting in the kitchen and would have been nice to have a cutting board for food preparation….
- Bongers (6/5): The facilities were adequate and even though on the main road the central location was good. - Off road parking was good; unit 2 was quieter being at the back; quaint appearance; new bathroom was good but nowhere to hang towels. The bed, although quaint, was creaky and uncomfortable.
No coat hangers; no hanging space in bedroom.
Inadequate lighting in kitchenette made it hard to read at the table.
Microwave was dirty and obviously too high in the new kitchen unit to be able to clean without getting on a ladder.
There were only 2 packets of wheat bix.
- Trainer (8/5): - The refurbishment is excellent. Lovely little cottage. The floors were a little dirty especially on the side verandah but didn't take away from the experience.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Janiece (9/5): Comfortable, clean quirky decor. Fun. - Spacious, nicely decorated. Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Rachel (7/5): A lovely and cute place to stay with nice touches. - I loved the cosy feel and period features. It was larger than I expected. Had some trouble getting the temperature right in the shower, I think maybe someone else was showering at the same time in the other unit.
The parking space was a bit tight.
- Susan (7/5): Perfect for what I needed. - The renovation style, although partially done, was amazing.
It had some really fun lighting and it felt like a retreat.
It was close to the hospital and shops.
The yard for my dog and car parking at the back. The driveway at curb was steep and my car scraped getting out.
The houses in that street were dilapidated, long grass, paint peeling, rusting roofs, junk in yards and people yelling in the street.
The sound of neighbours from other apartments was disturbing at times.
There was also a lot of the tell tale bikie drug drops ie roaring a short distance. Then stop. Repeat at random hours in the night.
- Dorota (9/5): -
- Giovanna (9/5): Best nights sleep. Beautiful.9 - Bed was very comfortable. Nothing..it was perfect.
- Vicki (1/5): Do not stay here under any circumstances - There is nothing about this property to like unless you want to stay in an unsafe dump in a crappy area. I was not provided with the correct address nor code to enter the property. I felt very unsafe there and stayed at another far nicer property. In addition the owner refused to refund my money and has spent time gaslighting my actual experience.
- Fiona (8/5): -
- Tony (6/5): A nice place, unfortunately ruined by an important ovetsight with elementary, but important maintenance. - Centrally located. Clean, well appointed. Unfortunately the smoke alarm battery died at 3am and I had to climb up on an unstable table to remove the alarm/battery so we could go back to sleep.
- Kim (10/5): - Value for money, amenities and location.
- Colin (8/5): -
- Kylie Chen (10/5): -
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Robin (9/5): good stay - Extras done for me like shower chair, keylock entrance, unused full toilet roll, great towels etc
- Susan Coates (10/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was very close to shops and eateries.
The apartment was quaint with a modern upgrade. Facilities provided catered for all scenarios. I enjoyed my stay very much.
- Sue (9/5): Cosy and private - Cute little cottage apartment. Well presented.
- Leigh (9/5): Lovely for the purposes of my stay. If it wasn’t mid 30s I would have been very happy. - Pretty and comfortable.
Accommodating to let me book in 1 hour early Air con wasn’t great.
3pm is too late for a check in
- Lara (10/5): Excellent stay. - Everything perfectly clean and kitchen well equiped. The bed linen had a lavender perfume! We loved it! Nothing
- Juanita (10/5): A+++ - This is a great property particularly if traveling with dogs. It looks nothing from the outside but is so well equipped and spacious on the inside. The old French door rattled in the wind but nothing a piece of paper could fix.
- Tedros (10/5): - Host went out of their way to help. So very appreciated.
- Allen (3/5): Unique - Near the CBD I got bogged trying to into the off street parking. The unit was much smaller than I thought. No TV. Nearly needed to sit on the toilet to have a shower.
- Dennis (9/5): Was different. Never experienced staying in a pod before. Very small yet had everything needed. - Close to town. Muddy due to the recent rains and flooding.
- Amanda (10/5): - Centrally located, clean and comfortable, quality fittings, easy to find, parking easy
- NEVILLE (5/5): Not your usual motel. - This is not a typical motel, but the back part of a very old house, renovated for rented accommodation. There is also a separate portable living unit on the back lawn. The owners have been creative in decorating the old house unit. Amenities were modern and adequate. No table and chairs inside the house. Only a table and chair on the outside balcony in the heat and under spiderwebs. Parking: fortunatley it wasn't raining, so easier to access our car parked across the back lawn in front of a broken down garage. If we had parked on the street (the other option we were given) it would have been quite inconvenient.
- Lyn (9/5): -
- Stephania (5/5): Inside was good but bad outside - It was clean There is no driveway. It was so difficult to come in and out because of the mud. There is a big need for a driveway
- Camille (10/5): - Very nicely furnished.Exceptionally clean. Great location. Was a bit surprising when we first pulled up because I wasn't quite sure of the setup. But very pleasantly surprised and will definitely stay again and recommend to my friends. Thank you! Nothing
- Pooja (6/5): - Loved the inside of the cottage... Very tidy modern n comfortable. Pet friendly n also cute little kitchenette The outside of the cottage /grounds of the facility
Difficult parking.. Untidy lawns but mostly scary noises from the outside... People fighting /screaming.. Sirens heard often... Car alarm going off 1am at night... Could hear footsteps n noises from Unit 2 and noises from the aircon.. making crackling noises that we eventually turned off the aircon n slept in the humid heat
- Kathryn (8/5): Something a little different with all the amenities needed. - Some finesse in furnishings and charm in rooms. A space outside to enjoy when eating. Neighbours' cat hung around - maybe the source of noises under house at night?
Limited space in kitchen area but coffee machine appreciated.
- Edith (9/5): Great & comfortable place to stay - Spacious and private Everything was well thought off - can’t think of anything I did not like - if any maybe tips to do, best restaurants / coffees
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Kristie (10/5): - Easy check-in, clean, comfortable, accessible parking and pet friendly our boy loved his stay as did we
- Kathy (7/5): Great stop over on our way home from Brisbane. Lovely little cottage. - The original authentic old cottage style. The flying ants problem. Some of these things are in avoidable.
- Tia (9/5): - The unit we stayed in was cozy, clean and spacious. It was in a perfect spot for us as we were just travelling through Taree north to south. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Facilities and appliances were modern and made for a comfortable stay We were unfortunately given the incorrect information to check in but one quick call to the provided contact number saw that problem quickly sorted
- Maria (10/5): Brilliant - The cutest and best one we have been to Nothing
- Adam (9/5): A pleasant stay.. the property ( inside ) is maintained higher than the average standard in this town - It was private. Clean, and I had a good experience staying here.. thankyou to the host Unique older style cottage with more recent kitchenette and bathroom…
- Thanh Tam (10/5): - I like the design of the room and lots of seed growing catus. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and clean. The location i in the central location. It would be better to have a dinning table and chair inside the cottage.
- Geraldine (6/5): Good location and cosy - Location was good. Cosy and owner was lovely. It was very noisy from the traffic as it was on a highway so I didn’t get much sleep. I could even hear a man snoring in the next room which was annoying. Could do with a good paint…
- Wendy (5/5): Won't be staying there again. - The location No seating inside. Lighting in kitchen was only strip lights under cupboard. Caretakers cat kept trying to get into room. Cereal was out of date.
- Roslyn (8/5): Roomy clean cottage apartment, dog friendly - Lovely original house divided into apartments. Plenty of space and charm. Conveniently located, exceptionally clean. Very happy my dog could stay. A bit noisy due to busy traffic, I used earplugs at night.
- Amanda (9/5): - Cute
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): We loved our stay. We will be back! - We loved our stay and that we could bring our two pups. Clean and comfortable and well equipped. Thanks for a great stay -
- Pauline (2/5): We will not return - Pet friendly Very run down
- Marguerita (3/5): Hosts should concentrate more on practical facilities than on decorations. - Bed was comfy and we slept well. Stove not functioning. There was difficulty getting right water temperature in shower (the tap handle actually came off in my hands and I had to mess about without my glasses to get it back on).
No water glasses - only wine glasses.
No table and chairs to sit at to eat inside.
Facilities generally impractical.
- Jacqueline (9/5): -
- Eric (10/5): -
- Christine (9/5): Great stay in a lovely little cottage that has been renovated and styled to perfection - It was perfect for an overnight stay. Well located with all the things needed for a comfortable stay. Nothing
- Megan (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Was much better than I expected, renovated bathroom was fabulous just let down by a very uncomfortable bed!!! - It was fabulous clean and well serviced. The bed was absolutely terrible hard to get a good nights sleep so uncomfortable.
- Ian (6/5): -
- Beverley (9/5): Comfortable stay, nice cottage feel with old and modern combined. Easy walk to shops/cafes & river -
- Stephen (7/5): - Remove the chest of drawers from under the television at the end of the bed and replace with a table and 2 chairs.
- Patricia (5/5): - My husband was staying and neither of us realized the room was a pod and a bit small, had trouble w the lock on the door. We have stayed in another unit at this location several times and always loved our experience. I guess we know now the pod experience is not for us,😆😂 it was a n experience for my husband and the owners were fantastic helping him w issues. We will stay w them again...just not n the pod😆🤪
- Frankham (9/5): -
- Tony (7/5): -
- Lucy (6/5): -
- Geoff (8/5): -
- McCall (8/5): - Inside was beautiful, clean and comfy. Outside was dirty and unkempt. Lawns not mown. For first impressions, very poor.
- Gene (10/5): Modern yet comfortable space, and a great team. - Small, and perfectly formed apartment. Welcoming to me and the dog. The styling is a solid mix of old character and modern facilities. Nothing not to like
- Logan (10/5): -
- kim (7/5): Pet friendly which is what we were after and only 1 nights stay so our needs were met - Inside was furnished very nicely for a period house. Very noisy street noise and house very old and outside needs work
- Elizabeth (8/5): Clean and convenient - I have stayed here multiple times before.. it is basically in the centre of town. They’ve added an apartment at the back of the house. Due to the design you can hear everything and it sometimes even feels like the neighbours are in your space. It’s also right near the main entry point to Taree so trucks start rolling in at 4am which can wake you up.
- Genevieve (10/5): -
- LYNETTE (9/5): Graet location, outside appearance deceiving. Pet friendly - Great location
- Jill (8/5): Great for an overnight stop over. Comfortable and cosy and we’d stay again. - Cosy. Modern bathroom and kitchenette along with cute period decor making it feel homely. Loved the ability to be able to cook a simple meal and breakfast provisions provided. A small table and chairs indoors would have been handy to eat our meals at.
- Mary (10/5): Excellent - This is a spacious federation cottage that is spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and provides a welcome change from generic overnight options. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Linda (8/5): - Lovely cottage with cereals and fruit supplied Really need small table and two chairs to sit at. If you stay in unit 2 do NOT park under the tree in the units spot; you will never get the droppings from the tree off your car!
- Ian (9/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): - Location to main shops and cafes excellent
- karen (9/5): Great stay for great value - Very comfortable. The apartment was surprisingly roomy with a kitchen and separate lounge from the bedroom. Little touches like cereal and a variety of teas and coffee was a treat! Noisy trucks during night
- Ludolf (8/5): -
- Md Akramul (6/5): -
- Anderson (5/5): - Clean, close to shops. Had no light for night time vision. It felt un safe for a single women. No wifi. No kitchen sink. Never enough toilet paper. Cleaners arriving too early before check out tim
- Katsuyoshi (7/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Great communication from proprietor. Had everything we needed for our stay. - Comfortable, clean, great location central to town
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Peter (5/5): Tiny, Tiny Studio Pod - Ok, this is a longer comment than I would normally write but I'd like booking.com users to be informed. This accommodation is a very, very small (12m2 approx) tiny pod. In the listing pictures it's the photo of what looks like an iPhone on its side. That is the "studio". Taree is one of our favourite towns, it was our home town 30 years ago. This pod studio is at the rear of an old cottage on the main road to the next town, Wingham. This part of Taree is not very desirable but it is close to the shopping areas. The tiny pod had a removable / plug in hot plate, mini bar fridge and microwave but to clean up you had to use the bathroom vanity. The tiny pod would be ideal if you wanted to experience tiny home living or what living in a small RV would be like. The property is owned by a young couple with a young family who appear to be "having a crack" at building an alternate income so we were pleased to support them. Users need to be conscious that this is "tiny living" so lots of compromises. We really struggled to get our heads around the toilet being in the shower !! Yep, if you wanted a shower you showered with the toilet in the shower with you. Which meant the toilet was soaked and had to be wiped down before it could be used again. I've attached a photo. Other concerns were mainly around having so little space, a total area of around 12m2 (approximately). So we kept "tripping" over each other. But it was nice to support a young couple giving it a "try".
- Bernardine (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): On the whole was pleasant and clean with nice little think for comfort.thank - Original Truck noise
- Kanav (9/5): Nicely designed place for a comfortable stay - The host met me to hand over keys and gave a brief orientation of the property. Also suggested places to eat and visit. No comment

- Scully (8/5): would recommend and would stay again - The wallpaper, the space- the plants, the little touches like fruit, just really nice The bed is a bit too soft, and the cups are too small.
