• Alexandra (8/5): Schöne Lage mit Makeln, Tolles Essen/Frühstück - Die Lage war superschön, v.a. wenn man mit Hund reist. Schöne Wälder ruhige Lage. Das Frühstück ist sensationell, wie die anderen Speisen am Mittag, Nachmittag ebenfalls. Tolle Kuchen, alles wunderbar! Die Unterkunft ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Decke weisste jene Wasserspuren (Eindringen durch die Decke) auf. Das Bad war aus den 80ern (hoch gekachelt) mangelnde Funktionalität. (Spiegelschrank defekt / kein Licht). Leider hört man am Morgen (Sonntagmorgen) die Küche um 06.00 Uhr mit den Frühstücksvorbereitungen. Schlafen war so nicht mehr möglich :-(. Für Gehbehinderte keine Zugangsmöglichkeit. Meine Mutter mit Rollator hatte daher viel Hilfe beansprucht über die Treppen in die Unterkunft zu gelangen.
• Ilona (10/5): Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen. - Ruhige Lage im Wald. Helle, großzügige Ferienwohnung mit guter Ausstattung. Außergewöhnlich gutes, umfangreiches und liebevoll hergerichtetes Frühstück. Evtl ein paar Hacken für die Handtücher im Bad anbringen 😉

• gkluter (7/5): - Op maandag en dinsdag is het restaurant gesloten en is het lekker rustig. Ook fijn dat er chocolaatjes en lekkere koffie klaarstond. Er waren vrij veel geluiden te horen zoals airconditioning en koelingen van de opslagruimte naast het appartement.

• Silke (9/5): Wir kommen im nächsten Jahr wieder. Aber diesmal für eine Woche, denke das sagt alles. - Die Lage, das sehr gute Frühstück. Ich mag das Ambiente sehr im Café Honigstal. Mitten im Wald gelegen, optimal mit unseren Hunden. Das Badezimmer ist in die Jahre gekommen. 😔

Utfordringer å få leiligheten varm ved overgangstemperaturer. Men det er et generelt problem i Tyskland som satser på oljefyring eller jordvarme i nye hus.

• Dirk (7/5): - Friendly welcome. Fairly spacious apartment, very clean. Good WiFi since otherwise hardly any reception. Felt like being in the Black Forest although only 400 m from the edge of the town on a hill. Breakfast outstanding and tailor made for us. When booking, we had the impression that breakfast was included but it turned out it was not. A bit misleading. With 17,50 Euros extra per person for breakfast, the place became too expensive for one night (more than 210 Euros). Bathroom too small, old shower cabin, no shower gel or hair shampoo provided. Someone used the vacuum cleaner at the neighbouring room/ apartment at 7.30h.

The restaurant is excellent, and the rooms were so comfortable I never wanted to get out of bed! Nothing - this suited our one-night stay need perfectly.

The beds were very comfortable, and the whole place was peaceful and quiet – surrounded by trees, so you can hear the birds singing. It had everything we needed including the cozy on-site café. We’d love to come back and can highly recommend it!
• Georg (9/5): Cozy stay that feels remote like a remote forest oasis in the midst of the city - Nestled in the forest of Wuppertal, this cozy apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay - short or long. Despite feeling completely remote, groceries and services are just a short 7-10 minute drive away. There are miles of beautiful trails through the forest right outside your door. The hosts were very friendly and warm and provided an extravagant breakfast spread.

• Colin (8/5): A quiet stay in an old but comfortable bed-sit apartment. - The host was very helpful and spoke good English ; we don't speak German. Plenty of space to unpack the bags. Location is quiet. The restaurant on site is good. Uncomfortable beds. Very small kitchenette ; fortunately we didn't need to cook. We had cold and damp weather, and others may have found the lack of heating a problem. For us it was fine, and I believe the host would have turned the heating on had we asked.

The food in the restaurant is fantastic. The location is pretty secluded so a car is useful as the town is a fair distance away. There is a bus that leaves regularly but that is a good 10 minutes away.
• Jack (10/5): Cracking place off the beaten track of Wuppertal, Chris that runs it was a fantastic host and catered to all of our need - Lovely location. Good facilities and could cook and lounge around freely. A bit out of the way of the main part of Wuppertal but lovely area for a hotel.
• Judit (10/5): We spent a splendid weekend at Haus Honigstal thanks to the cosy accomodation and our kind host. - Both the surrounding and the accommodation are beautiful. The property is situated in a forest/on a hill, still it is close to the city (8 mins by car), while there are many facilities nearby (foodstores, playground, restaurants). The house has a nice restaurant as well. The host is very kind and helpful.
• Vyacheslav (9/5): Very good stay in the woods - It was a very clean apartment with a small kitchen and a comfy bed. The owner met us in person and accommodated our needs to the late check-in. The restaurant at the property is really worth visiting. Only soap was present, we couldn't find any other bathroom amenities like shower gel and shampoo.

The property is renown in the region for its “Kaffee und Kuchen” as well as fabulous evening meals. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Parking can occasionally be a challenge due to the popularity of the Landhaus Cafe.

• Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - The appartment was absolutely fantastic, with generous space and volumes. There was truly everything you need for a family, including a washing machine and a dryer! Coffee kindly provided (nespresso). Smart tv + dvd player with a nice collection of child movies. The standards were very high, it was like staying in a luxury hotel, and this for a very reasonable price. The restaurant´s cooking was really amazing. Actually, this is known in the region and posh people come in for lunch or dinner and you better reserve if you want a table. Even if the food quality was outstanding, the price was very reasonable. Overall, we only stayed for one day (this was a stop on our way back home). But we would have liked to stay longer, because we really enjoyed the comfort of the flat. The apartment is managed by the owner on the side of the restaurant, hence there is no proper reception as such. It took 5 to 10 minutes waiting on arrival before we could check in, but this is no big deal. And the person who received us was very nice (I think it might have been the owner).

• John (10/5): Only stayed for one night on the way back to the airport - wish we could have stayed longer! - Apartment was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. Check in was very easy and we were met by the owner who showed us to the apartment and let us know about the local area and some recommendations. We had breakfast in the Cafe on the Sunday and the food was exceptionally good - definitely recommend booking in for this. Overall I would definitely recommend a stay at Cafe Landhaus. The city of Wuppertal is also worth a visit to see the suspended railway! Everything was fine.

• teodor (10/5): This was my 4th stay at the same property - Peaceful, quiet and GOOD for business in NRW. I extended my stay 3 or 4 times as business kept extending and simply there was no better combination of price and quality. The place is luxury and spacious with capsule coffee machine and chocolates. This is not your typical spartan bare-bones german hotel with a bed and a table. This is full-size, reminiscent of a small flat with kitchen, bedroom, entree and a full-size bath. The hosts were also super discreet and did not interfere at all if you needed to be alone. But then when I needed them, they were fast.
• teodor (10/5): I have extended my stay +1 more time - super quality / price ratio, and lots of clean nature and air, yet still very close to Wuppertal. good people, self take-away kiosk for food with a fridge full of home made delicacies - I have stayed at many places in Germany, and I keep extending my stay at Haus Honigstal because it true old-school Germany experience with lovely neighbors, and happy dog that runs happily in the yard, and loves everyone. If you love nature, and would like to be able to do business in NRW - this is your best choice - 10/10
