- Devin (10/5): Explore the magnificent ruins and aqueducts of ancient Rome from the Appio Claudio Rome Apartments! - I loved the location: Easy walking distance from the historic Appian Way, the magnificent Park of the Aqueducts, and a delightful dinosaur park filled with life-sized colorful statues of prehistoric beasts!
The Appio Claudio Rome Apartments are clean, spacious, and close by a Supermercato where I saved money by buying groceries rather than eating out (although there are several attractive options nearby if one wishes to have a nice meal in a restaurant, diner, or bar).
I fully enjoyed my time in the Province of Calabria and if I'm blessed with the good fortune to return, I'll gladly stay at the Appio Claudio Rome Apartments again! The funny thing is that when I first arrived in Rome--having carelessly neglected to do any planning because I'd expected the need to cancel my trip due to family issues--I was thrilled with the Eternal City, but disappointed by the dearth of ancient aqueducts such as I yearned to see...
I booked my stay in the Appio Claudio Rome Apartments because I sought to hike the Appian Way from the Southern end of the Archeological Park, which turned out to be in Marino.
However, the Park of the Aqueducts that I've long wanted to see (without having known where exactly it was) is only about 7 minutes' slow jog from the Appio Claudio Rome Apartments, something I came across by accident on my last day there...don't miss seeing these vastly impressive aqueducts, you'll be absolutely amazed by the enduring majesty of these marvelous feats of ancient engineering, and nowhere else in Italy do they extend so far!!
