Guest Reviews
- tatiana (1/5): Unsafe, Unclean, and Misrepresented Property - nothing EVERYTHING .My experience at this property was extremely disappointing due to the poor condition of the apartment and misleading information provided by the Blackbird Property Management.
Upon entering the apartment, I found heavy dust throughout, including under the bed, used condoms left from previous guests, and cockroaches inside the apartment. There were no fly screens installed, which meant it was not possible to open the windows without insects and mosquitoes entering the apartment. The TV and internet were also not working.
The level of noise inside and outside the property was unacceptable. Outside, there was constant disturbance including yelling, disruptive behaviour, skateboards, and street noise at night. The host describes the area as a “vibrant Potts Point near bars and restaurants with some expected street noise,” which is misleading. In reality, the surrounding area includes backpacker hostels and visible homeless activity, with frequent loud disturbances that made it feel unsafe after dark.
Inside the building, there was no soundproofing. I could clearly hear doors slamming in corridors, noise from upstairs and downstairs units, and even normal conversations, snoring, toilets, and water usage from neighbouring apartments through the walls.
The check-out time was inconsistent and confusing. I was instructed to check out at 8:00 am, while Booking.com shows 10:00 am.The host initially offered a refund minus one night and cleaning fees. Although I did not agree with this, I decided I needed to leave the property due to the conditions. When I accepted this proposal in principle, the host withdrew the offer and said it had expired. As a result of the misrepresentation, misleading information, poor condition of the property, and the host’s conduct, I have opened a chargeback request for a full refund. I have also opened a case with NSW Fair Trading regarding the behaviour of the management company and the condition of this property.
- peter (3/5): Stay anywhere else. - The shower was good, nicely decorated room. No internet, no TV, not even a radio, clear glass wall between bedroom and lounge, matress topper lumpy and bumpy, window curtain is the bedhead, a dead cockroach in a cupboard and two little ones running around bathroom, smelly building on entry and in halls but room not so much, narrow stairs made carrying cases and bags difficult, suggested car parking is 5 minutes away not 2 as advertised, car parking about $100 for 3 nights, street noise constantly-obviously no double glazing, overall a good waste of money...
- Maria Milena (9/5): - The location is great, and the place has all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay. I initially felt a bit unsure about the booking process, but everything worked out well in the end. Communication with the host was good once I provided the requested documentation. I had heavy luggage and the building doesn’t have an elevator, but overall everything else was fine.
- Richard (8/5): Love place in a vibrant area. Good links to Central Sydney and Bondi Beach. - nice area. Apartment was very pleasant. Bathroom door could do with a drop of oil. Also the name Springfield was not mentioned in directions and it was right above the entrance door. No television instructions. All minor points given to aid overall comfort rather than complaints.
- Catriona (9/5): A delightful place to stay, comfortable & tranquil despite being so centrally located. - Excellent location, comfortable lounge chairs & bed and very spacious for a studio with fantastic artwork & ‘objets d’art’ which made it feel like a home, not just a rental property. Very well equipped with everything you’d need to cook, & to entertain. Decent quality crockery & glasses, & plenty of them. The studio is on the 2nd floor so there were quite a lot of stairs to carry suitcases up. No windows in the sitting room area - though there’s a glass wall between the sitting room & bedroom and there’s lights coming through the bedroom windows it took a little while to adjust.
