• atravelerfornow (9/5): Harveys Guest House while in Dublin - Harveys Guest House is a pleasant place to stay while in Dublin. It's outside the busy touristic area, but many points of interest are just a few minutes walk or bus ride away. The host was very welcoming, offering helpful information as well as a map with explanations. The room was clean and spacious with a view over the neighborhood rooftops.

• Aran (9/5): Really good stay in Dublin - Nicolas was an excellent host. He really cared about us being comfortable and everything. I really recommend the place. He changed our room because he saw my mum had a hard time going upstairs. Some stairs to climb, but that's something unavoidable.

• Stanislava (5/5): Dirty rooms - The stuff was just fine and quite helpful. Beds were dirty, the same is valid for the carpet. At the bathroom it was very difficult to take a shower as there was no shower head. Both rooms were dirty.

Having owned and restored a smaller mid Victorian house, I was interested to see the owners approach! In terms of our stay I have no dislikes as such.

• Bingham (10/5): We love Harvey's Guest House - We love Harvey's Guest House! We decided on Harvey's Guest House for our family vacation and reserved a single, double, and triple room. All of the rooms are clean, comfortable, and so cozy as well! Each room is nicely decorated and with big beautiful windows letting in natural light. All of the beds were so comfortable and the place is surprisingly quiet at night, given the location in the city and that it's a big converted house! In addition to the rooms, we were also impressed by the cozy library and sitting room to visit with each other when we came 'home' after seeing the sights in Dublin, all of which are a short walk or tram ride away; the green line is a few blocks away and bus stops are also nearby, but it's so near O'Connell Street that we were there before we realized. The family who owns and operates the guest house are wonderful, warm folks as well- the care and pride that they have in this place is evident; from the delicious breakfast spread (highly recommend the pound cake!) complete with flowers on the tables picked by the owners’ daughter, to the decor, to the friendly conversation and stories. Nicholas was kind enough to speak with me a few times when I called before we even arrived to make sure that we had everything in order, and then Oscar was there to greet us when we arrived and set us up in our rooms. They were so friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay, and gave great recommendations for activities and restaurants in the city - We will definitely be back the next time we are in Dublin and will be highly recommending them to any and all who visit the city as well.

• mii (3/5): Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht! - Relativ nah am Zentrum gelegen (15 min mit dem Bus) und Supermarkt um die Ecke (5 min zu Fuß) Für uns sind die vielen positiven Bewertungen leider nicht nachvollziehbar. Check-in: Wir waren für fünf Nächte im Guest House. Gleich zu Beginn fiel uns die Aussage des Besitzers negativ auf, dass er bevorzugt ältere Gäste und Familien beherbergen möchte. Eine solche Bemerkung gegenüber einem Paar Anfang 30 empfinden wir als unhöflich und wenig gastfreundlich. Für den Late Check-in wurden zusätzlich 30 Euro berechnet – aus unserer Sicht völlig unangemessen, da lediglich ein PIN-Code sowie Anweisungen zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Es war kein Personal vor Ort. Auf Nachfrage begründete der Besitzer die Gebühr mit der Refinanzierung seiner Schlüssel- und Kameraanlage, was für uns nicht nachvollziehbar war. Wäre tatsächlich ein Mitarbeiter anwesend gewesen, hätten wir die Zusatzkosten eher verstanden. Zimmer: Die Zimmer wirken insgesamt alt und abgewohnt. Zwar wurden einzelne Elemente wie Nachttischlampen, Fernseher oder Spiegel erneuert, der Großteil der Einrichtung ist jedoch deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Es fehlen Rollos oder abdunkelnde Vorhänge, sodass das Zimmer bereits ab etwa 6–7 Uhr morgens sehr hell ist. Der Föhn funktionierte zudem nicht richtig und riecht unangenehm. Im Badezimmer trat zudem ein unangenehmer Geruch aus dem Abfluss auf. Die Badewanne, die gleichzeitig als Dusche dient, verfügt lediglich über einen fest montierten Duschkopf mit sehr geringem Wasserdruck. Das Haarewaschen gestaltete sich dadurch äußerst mühsam und zeitaufwendig. Heizung: Ein weiteres Problem war die Heizung: In der ersten Nacht war es so kalt, dass wir beide gefroren haben. Auf Nachfrage erklärte der Besitzer dies mit alten Leitungen und möglichen Schwankungen durch andere Gäste. Auch nach mehreren Tagen besserte sich die Situation nicht, sodass wir uns erneut meldeten und zusätzlich Booking kontaktierten. Erst daraufhin wurde die Heizung angepasst. Für uns entstand der Eindruck, dass zuvor aus Spargründen zu wenig geheizt wurde.

• Zuckerman (9/5): Cosy guesthouse - The room was comfortable and very clean. It was an easy walk to a couple of coffee shops and a great Japanese restaurant. The surrounding area is fine but not optimal. I am a woman who traveled alone and I felt completely safe. To get to any of the sites or city centre was a bit of a walk. I had great weather so I didn't mind but in the rain or cold it would have felt far.

The man who owns the place was lovely and had a chat with me when I first arrived and gave us some tips for sightseeing and the st paddy’s day parade. Easy to get to nearby bars, restaurants, cafes and explore. Our room was warm and cosy, immaculately clean, with a gorgeous classic, elegant style. Our host, Nicholas was so friendly and welcoming, who gave us some great conversation and recommendations. No negatives, would highly recommend. We were there on a weekend so street parking was free but might be trickier on weekdays.

• anne (10/5): Nous avons passé trois jours pour venir installer notre fille qui rentrait au Trinity College. Nous avons alterné entre - La situation est juste parfaite, tout peut se faire à pied. Le propriétaire est charmant et très disponible. La décoration est simple mais de très bon goût et authentique. La chambre est très cosy la literie est parfaite et il n’y a aucun bruit à part celui très agréable des mouettes le matin.

One pillow that was not very comfortable. Heat wave hit (not the fault of the host) and I couldn’t get the window to stay open. Maybe the owner can invest in some fans for guests to use? Given the price, I expected a little more, but the location was good.
