Guest Reviews
- Bernadette (7/5): Great position but needs more work - The location was fantastic! Close to Apollo rd ferry station. Beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly Very steep drive and uneven paving. Uneven steps in the apartment also. It’s an accident waiting to happen and should be clearly stated on the booking site. Sound proofing between the floors should be considered as we could hear everything from downstairs. Dishwasher was not working and the response was tardy and remained broken for all of our stay. More kitchen equipment such as a spatula and washing up sponges would be good. Washing machine was not in the apartment but under the house. I feel that a small welcome manual would be beneficial.
- Rachel (7/5): Good -
- Martin (3/5): Could not wait to check out - The property is on the ground floor of a house. There are tenants above with a small child that screams all day. The renovations to split the upstairs and downstairs are poor and cheap there is no sound insulation and you can hear every word and noise the upstairs tenants are making . Very hard to relax. Poor
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. - It was comfortable, bright with a a great outdoor area.
- Barbara (8/5): Situation suited us well, close to transport etc. There was a bit of noise transfer from above. -
- Regis124 (8/5): Very good - The location was perfect for visiting family in Bulimba. It was within walking distance of Oxford Street and ferries to the city. It was a great value stay. The host Mike was available for any queries and was quick to respond.
- Jane (7/5): It served a purpose but that was about all I could say. - The location was excellent but not easy to access and no parking which was advised.
There was no washing machine/ dryer as mentioned and after travelling for a week was very disappointing.
It was pretty basic really and not what we were expecting.
The fan didn’t work but thank goodness the air conditioners did. It was very basic.

- Barbara (7/5): We enjoyed our stay, however, we’re woken by planes and noises from upstairs. - The property was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with essential equipment The lock box was hard to open.
The noise from upstairs was loud at times.
The apartment was directly under the flight path and planes began flying at 6am.
The glass doors could do with blinds
- A (7/5): Good -
- Gill (8/5): Great place. Mike extremely helpful and very amenable. - Great location near the Apollo ferry
Great hosts. Not far to walk down into town. The inside space was on different levels which was a bit challenging in the night on the way to the bathroom. But then the property was on a hill giving great views!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (5/5): Could have been so much better. - Lovely bedding, loved that there were books in the bedrooms and bedside lamps.
Lots of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils with a nice big fridge, the microwave, toaster, kettle, and whole apartment was very clean.
In warmer weather it would have been lovely to sit on the deck with the city views.
It was easy to find, close to great eateries and easy access to Toowoomba and the Gold Coast which is where we needed to go. The description of the property on booking.com was misleading to say the least - the bathroom is separate, not an ensuite, there is no tumble dryer, washing machine or hair dryer, no aircon to the main living area, just the bedrooms.
* There is no mention of the steep steps from the verge down to the front of the house on the booking page - I wouldn't have even looked at this property if I knew - we had to carry our suitcases and bags down those stairs in the dark (the sensor lights don't come on until you're at the front of the house).
*There is no mention of the lack of a solid path down the side of the house to get to the apartment to be able to wheel your suitcases down - it was large cement pavers as stepping stones surrounded by small pebbles. Looked lovely but very impractical for luggage, if you were unable to actually carry your luggage instead of wheeling it then you would be in trouble.
*There were no blinds or curtains in the entire living/kitchen area.
*The window locks in the bedrooms would not lock closed.
*It was very noisy as the roof was quite thin, we could hear everything from the owners upstairs.
*There is no airconditioning in the main areas and with no blinds it was very cold - there were just wall aircons in the bedrooms. We found 2 small electric fan heaters in the storage cupboard, one of which didn't work.
*There was a pod coffee maker that had no fresh pods, only old mouldy used ones in the unit's basket. I don't know if there were fresh pods somewhere, I couldn't find any.
*We were asked to strip our beds and pile our towels together to "help out the hardworking cleaner", even though there was already a $125 cleaning fee included in the accomodation booking charge. Never had to do that before.
- Keith (8/5): Very good - Outdoor living space and view. Very pleasant and good communication from hosts. Steep driveway entrance to building.
- Ian (9/5): Good location, comfortable 2 bedrooms - Great location, walk to shops, cafes and restaurants and easy walk to River Cat, Two comfortable bedrooms and bathroom small kitchen with all you need! No washing maching (which is only relevant for long stays)
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (10/5): Great location within 10 min walk to Oxford st Bulimba. Mike was very easy to communicate with through out our stay. - The property had everything we needed for our short stay. Great outlook from the deck. Linens on the beds were so welcoming and comfy.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dragonflysusieq (9/5): Gorgeous Bulimba unit - Quaint unit under a house, close to the city. Mike was very accommodating, from swapping out a faulty remote for the fan to letting us know he was available if anything went wrong with our stay. It was comfortable, clean, and cosy. The back verandah and hammock were also a big hit, and there was even a quirky antique drop-down floor safe....any safe crackers out there? If I had to pick anything at all, it would be the steep drive. Parking is on the street. However, we already knew that upon booking. Ladies, this drive is NOT heel friendly, lol, but that is nothing to warrant you to not give this place a stay !!!
