Obsługa była uprzejma, a sam obiekt sprawiał dobre wrażenie. Pobyt ogólnie oceniam pozytywnie, choć jest kilka elementów, które warto byłoby dopracować, aby komfort gości był jeszcze lepszy. Pobyt był w porządku, jednak jest kilka rzeczy, które według mnie warto poprawić. W pokoju brakowało podstawowego wyposażenia, takiego jak lodówka do schłodzenia napojów, kosz na śmieci czy chociaż podstawowa zastawa (szklanki, sztućce, talerze). To drobne elementy, ale znacząco wpływają na komfort pobytu. Śniadania były raczej monotonne i niestety wyglądały znacznie skromniej niż na zdjęciach prezentowanych w ofercie, co może powodować rozczarowanie u gości oczekujących podobnego standardu. Najbardziej zawiodła mnie jednak restauracja. Zamawiając 0,5 kg fileta z kurczaka, otrzymałem porcję, która według mnie była wyraźnie mniejsza. Pracuję w gastronomii, więc potrafię realnie ocenić gramaturę dań. Warto zwrócić na to uwagę, ponieważ takie sytuacje mogą sprawiać wrażenie niezgodności oferty z rzeczywistością. Dodatkowo obiekt może być problematyczny dla osób z ograniczoną sprawnością ruchową – teren jest dość stromy i momentami niewygodny do poruszania się. Myślę, że warto to wyraźniej zaznaczyć w opisie obiektu. Zdjęcia przedstawiają śniadanie z 4 dni pod rząd.

The view from the balcony is one of the best in Gjirokaster. I couldn't stop looking at the view. The food in their resturaunt is home made, grown and sourced locally and beats surrounding area prices. Thank you. Nothing.

• MARIA JOSE (8/5): Lugar perfecto para desconectar - La anfitriona estuvo en contacto en todo momento, la habitación era muy amplia y cómoda con un balcon con unas impresionantes vistas que invitaban a la relajación, está situada en el casco antiguo y no se puede llegar en vehículo hasta la puerta del alojamiento, pero puedes aparcar a tan solo unos metros de allí, tienen una pequeña taberna típica y la cocinera es la abuela de la anfitriona, cocina delicioso y a pesar de llegar bastante tarde para el servicio de almuerzo nos preparó unos platillos muy ricos. Puedes ir al centro en 10 minutos caminando.

• Jordyn (9/5): Nice stay near the castle. - Spacious, lovely, quiet, and with an included breakfast, with a store and restaurant attached for convenience. Beautiful views, and close to the castle. The WiFi struggled a bit in our room sole of the time, but that’s about it.

De ontvangst van de dochter, de hartelijkheid van de mama en kookkunsten van oma. De kamer met airco en balkon, de badkamer, het restaurant, alles was top. Bij een volgende bezoek aan Gjirokastër wordt dit weer ons tijdelijk adres om te slapen en te eten. Dank U wel Carine en Stef. Niks

El desayuno también es estupendo. La familia es encantadora, especial mención a Adria súper atenta en todo momento. Recomendable probar también su restaurante. Faleminderit!
• Josef (10/5): - Vlídná paní to provozuje. Nádherná lokace, všechny památky a potřebné věci v pěší vzdálenosti. Restaurace taky nabízí prodej potravin atd. Paráda, naplnilo očekávání Snídani chybělo ovoce. Jak jsme byli v podobném quest housu v Beratu tak za stejnou cenu byly snídaně daleko bohatší, ale mně snídaně stačila. Možná lednička na pokoji by byla dobrá v těchto vedrech.

Dormimos cómodos y el desayuno albanés que incluía la estancia estuvo genial (tortilla, queso feta, té autóctono, y más…). La ubicación está bien, ya que accediendo por un túnel que hay debajo del castillo, llegas en un momento al centro del casco histórico. El personal es muy agradable y ofrecen también comida y cenas con buena relación calidad-precio.

• MARIA BELEN (5/5): - La amabilidad del personal. El desayuno que estaba incluído era muy variado y estaban bien pero no incluía café y había que pagarlo aparte. Nunca había estado en ningún sitio en el que el "desayuno incluido" no incluyese café y hubiese que pagarlo aparte. Por otra parte, el acceso a la casa estaba al final de una pendiente muy pronunciada de unos 20 metros aproximadamente a la que solo se podía acceder andando. Hay que decir que la localidad está llena de cuestas pero tiene mucho encanto

It is a shared bathroom, which for me was no problem. The room was exactly what I hoped for, and breakfast was delicious. For the price, it is an excellent room!!!! Nothing!

The host is very sweet, she provided suggestions and directions for the places to visit. The place is nice and clean as well. It's difficult to find a good hotel location in Gjirokaster before coming...I can assure you this one is in a good spot. Just 1 slope to go up or down to reach the castle/old bazaar. 10 min walk, go through the tunnel and you're there! They provide a small parking spot on the street, which is good if you come by car. Overall, perfect stay especially for a good price! We had the chance to be the only guests during our stay. However, there is only 1 shower / 2 toilets for multiple rooms, so just be aware of it if it's fully booked (peak season)

The family run restaurant serves traditional food, we ate our evening meal there and it was excellent. The only down point for us was the steep walks up and down to the guest house.

• Marcia (9/5): Amazing views! - The view from the balcony was out of this world. The room was comfortable. Owners are super sweet. They also have a restaurant where breakfast is served. I had dinner there and it was good too! There's a bus that takes you quite near, but be mindful if you have a lot of luggage. It's cobblestones, so unless you have just a backpack, it's better to take a cab. Nothing really. The internet could be faster. It's not extremely close to the main attractions, but you can take a shortcut through the castle's tunnel.

The breakfast is homemade and delicious! The most important thing is that the family who run the guesthouse are great hosts and made us feel really welcome! Totally recommend it! .

The house is situated at a very peaceful and calm location, so we had the best nights of sleep. The hosts were amazing, very helpful and very kind family. Thank you for being so nice. They also have a restaurant upstairs that offers delicious traditional food, one of the best we had in Albania, and for great prices. Would love to come back!

• Aran (10/5): Come as a stranger, leave as a freind! STAY HERE!!! - Can't recommend this place more! It is clean, quiet, a traditional Albanian family home with an AMAZING view. The family that runs it could not be nicer. A short 2-minute walk and you can see the whole castle from a viewpoint too. They run a nice little convenience store as well as a great restaurant with the best food I had in Gjirokaster, and at cheaper prices than anywhere else too. All food is homemade and lots of the ingredients come from their garden. I loved it so much that I extended my stay by 2 days. I will be back! Thanks so much for the perfect stay! That I couldn't stay longer.

The food from the associated Taverna was incredible, among the very best we have had in Albania - please do not overlook eating there if you stay here. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the view from the balcony was great, the breakfast was fantastic and the Wi-Fi worked well. Only a 10 minute walk to the main bazaar. Overall I would highly recommend this accommodation!

Two shared bathrooms were more than enough for 3 guests rooms (I don’t even have noticed the others). The breakfast was delicious, specially the fig jelly. The view from the balcony was so peaceful! Old town is really close to the place (~10 min with the tunnel that saves a lot of time to cross the mountain) making it very easy to explore the incredible Gjirokastra by feet. Nothing! All good!

• Sini (10/5): Exceptional - Such warm welcome when I arrived and I immediately felt at home. My room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. It was nice that there were a table and chairs in the patio and I sat there after walking all day. So relaxing. I had dinner on both evenings and food was good traditional Albanian food, which I enjoyed tasting. Breakfast was good too and kept me going until lunch. The host gave me lots of information about things to do and see during my stay in Gjirocastra. Her parents were lovely though they didn't speak English and children really sweet and well-mannered. If I ever visit Gjirokastr again I know where to stay. It was big awkward that one cannot lock the shared bathroom. It would also be nice to have a trash bin in the room.

• Thomas (10/5): Great place to stay! - The room was quite big with three beds, and a balcony with a panoramic view. The host also owns a grocery store and a restaurant next to it. They also provide bathroom slippers to walk around the house. The house is located on a hill and the climb is quite steep. You either need to be fit enough for the hike or have a vehicle. There is also a local bus stop nearby.
• Päivi (10/5): Exceptional - The owners and their whole family are super friendly and helpful. They will make you feel like home and help you with everything you need. The place is very clean. Location is good, a bit away from the crowded center but 10-15 minutes walk to center and castle and 30 minutes walk to Ali Pasha bridge. A peaceful neighbourhood where you can see the local lifestyle. They also have a good restaurant where you can find lots of vegetarian options. -

• Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were very nice and friendly. The place is very clean and comfortable, very near to the castle and the area with the nicest traditional stone houses. It is a quiet neighborhood, tucked in a side alley. Bathrooms are nice, clean, with hot water and good pressure. The room I had had a nice balcony and an aircon for heating. There are also plenty of blankets and the sheets are very clean (it is "Italian style" bedding, putting a sheet and duvets on top). There is no kitchen and no internal communal area, only balconies. In summer it wouldn't be a problem, but in winter, it's a bit tricky to prepare and eat your lunch/dinner in the room (there's no table).

• James (9/5): Priceless quietness - When you want to stay in a authentic Albanian place this is a charmer. Genuine Albanian friendlyness in a super quiet setting, just outside the citycenter. It looks further than it is as there is a cool tunnel underneath the castle which brings you there in 10 walking minutes. The quietness is priceless! Nothing really. Just need to be said that in the walk to the city there is a bit of a steep climb involved so requires some fitness. After that cooling down in the tunnel.

The people who run the guesthouse are really sweet and help you when needed. The rooms are clean and the beds sleep great! The homemade food is really good and I recommend the chicken soup!! The location is great and only a 10 minute walk to the bazaar/ castle. Definitely recommend staying at Sokolli Guest House

• Kelly (8/5): Amazing host, balcony and bathroom - The manager and her daughter were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I really enjoyed getting to know them. :) The house has nice woodwork and is somewhat modern with some traditional Albanian touches. The bathroom stood out - it was shared but incredible - huge, great water pressure and body sponges for an extra touch. The balcony of the room with the balcony also AMAZING - it was big, had a fabulous view of the mountains and valley and a day bed for relaxing. I would definitely stay in that room again. :) The double room was very hot (in August), so I changed to the balcony room. The house is a 10-min walk from restaurants other than theirs.

• Shyleen (9/5): Nice - Very nice woman running the property. It should be noted that it is not for people with even minor mobility issues. I'm quite fit, and for the price one may be able to find something more walkable to the old town with a private bathroom. Otherwise, the hospitality was great.
