- Robert (1/5): Had no stay. Booking.com took my money - No accommodation was available. Still waiting for a refund
- nickajones (6/5): Awesome Atmosphere Camping - The atmosphere of this camp is awesome and friendly, I felt safe and comfortable. The glamping tent was a good overnight stay and really cute idea. The beds were not too comfortable but okay for a night.
- trin (10/5): Backpacking surfing paradise, lovely staff, dog friendly, Quiet and peaceful, great cabins and camp sites - The area was amazing, how cabin was lovely, dog friendly is a plus we didn’t bring our pups but it’s lovely to see if camp that allows and such kind staff.
And so many beautiful people backpacking so great to see!! If you’re happy to be out of a main town it’s for you!
Drive to the town is only 10 minutes but wouldn’t be a great walk if you wanted to try but that’s up to you!
- David (10/5): Don’t diss the place over a few minor negatives - it’s a lovely spot! - It is what it is …yes it could do with quite a bit of tidying up to make it more presentable BUT I enjoyed my stay (I booked a Tipi) - it was very clean and comfortable and a perfect time out for me (and my dog).
The staff were very helpful and the people around were very friendly!
A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION! It could certainly do with a tidy up and removal of unused items! Someone needs to load up the skip or call a scrap metal dealer!
Amenities block could do with an upgrade and/or a coat of paint! But the facilities were always kept very clean!
- Pia (10/5): I have rebooked for next year already. - Everything. The friendly staff, the atmosphere with all the young international people.
The villa was everything I hoped for, clean and the furnishings were so nice.
But the view, OMG, to die for. Nothing.
- Craig (8/5): - Location
- Shelley (5/5): Fairly ok. - Staff were extremely welcoming and lovely!
The location to the beach was fantastic!
Towels were fresh and comfortable to use. Campers set up next to the cabin so far forward that it cut our view in half.. they also had a dog that they didn't clean up poop, and young kids that were running around screaming (proximity to cabin perhaps 1.5m). Understand kids are kids but so close to the cabin, that cant close up as no air con- made it frustrating.
Screen door was ripped, so we could not have our pup off the lead inside, also had the leave door open for breeze but let in bugs and midgies.
Cabin was next to another cabin but had training with a raft right outside alongside stinky bins.
Not a big thing, but tv remote wouldn't work.

- Hayley (4/5): Fantastic beach, Dissapointing accomodation - The location is fantastic - right on the beachfront with a beautiful beach and creek on your doorstep. Fire pits are provided for bonfires, and it’s conveniently close to Woolworths and other shops in the nearby town of Woolgoolga, with Coffs Harbour just 30 minutes away. Check-in and check-out were simple and hassle-free. The cabins are very small (approximately 8 ft long by 3.5 ft wide) and unfortunately do not have air conditioning, unlike the adjacent demountables. They become unbearably hot during summer, making them uncomfortable for a stay. Cleanliness is another concern; the curtains and clock had visible mould, and the cabins are stocked with so little, not even the bare essentials you would expect. The park is overrun by backpackers, who will congregate in the BBQ area outside the cabins in the evening and party loudly until 2–3 am. While that’s fine for me, we noticed that when we played a bit of music, we were asked to turn it down—likely because we weren’t part of the backpacker crowd.
Overall, while the location and beach were wonderful and we enjoyed our time there, the cabins are overpriced for what is offered, and the park itself feels quite run-down. With some investment and improvements, it could be a great spot, but in its current state, and with current management, we would not choose to stay again.
- Chloe (3/5): Absolutely disgraceful - The only thing was the view and location Where do I start the cabin itself is not rustic it’s poorly maintained the roof is lifting up outside they have nails sticking out of the deck , the mattress and pillows are so poor and old the bed makes so much noise noise just turning over ,, they don’t supply cleaning stuff like stated suck as a broom for starters there was no soap or shampoo in the dispenser they gave us 2 towels for 3 people 1 fan for the whole cabin and when I asked for a new one they said we have a rusty one I can use then it blew up .. lack of power points , the cabins are extremely hot . The place is for more backpackers the families to be honest which the should state .. they allow back packers to make as much noise as they like throughout the night with music etc but once we put on our music the managers come down to tell us too turn it down !! Explain that’s one !
- Maliwan (7/5): - We love Location just right up to the water and the beach. The cabin is too old and small size
- Shaye (7/5): - Great location. Bunks were very small, 15 year old had to sleep on the lounge.
- taylor (1/5): -
- Remy (4/5): Fine if you want a party atmosphere, but it wasn’t what we booked. Clearer advertising is needed on Booking.com - The location is excellent and very close to the beach – that’s the main positive but accommodation is situated inside a busy backpacking hostel/surf camp. More suitable for young adults. The location is excellent and very close to the beach – that’s the main positive.
However, Booking.com does not make it clear that the accommodation sits within a surf camp/backpacker hostel. There were 30–40 + plus young travellers on site, with drinking most nights and large gatherings out the back. Guests tend to sit around the front of the property, which means there’s very little privacy and people are often looking straight into the rooms. One night an intoxicated person even wandered onto our balcony thinking it was his.
The unit itself looked very different from the photos. It felt run down, wasn’t very clean, and there was noticeable mould, including black mould all up the wall.
This place might suit people wanting a social, party-style stay, but it wasn’t what we expected. Clearer advertising would really help future guests. Didn’t really feel worth the price.
- Paul (10/5): -
- Kathy (9/5): Lovely relaxing break - The water view cabin was excellent. Beautiful water views peaceful and relaxing.
- Penny (5/5): It was ok but we wouldn’t go back . - Great location the coffee from cafe was nice too. Accomodation wasn’t great, very small, could see they have spent money on making it look better, but had an old lounge , old bed ,windows and door didn’t lock . Chair leg went through the timber of the veranda. Shower railing rusty.
- Kristy (5/5): Only reason we stayed the second night was due to the location and the view of the beach from our cabin - The location and the view The photos on the website don’t look like what we stayed in. Rusty microwave, mouldy blinds, rusty vents, uncomfortable bed, not enough towels for the 4 of us- only 2 provided. The place itself looked like a construction site. Did not realise that it was not really for families when reading the website. It seems to be more aimed at backpackers, surfers etc.
- Lauren (8/5): - Locations and people where great dogs all well behaved... and no screaming kids so amazing.. Inside the room needs some fixing especially the bathroom our seat was broken ... but honestly small fix would make this alot better but over all are great stay i recommend
- Castany (8/5): - Love having the beach as the back yard. Literally walk from door to beach. Great location, good value for money. Bed was a bit uncomfortable, and needs better WiFi.
- Sally-May (4/5): Very overpriced for what you get. - The beach is beautiful. Tired and rundown, very expensive for what you get, surfing academy base, Saturday night got very noisy.
- Baillie (10/5): -
- Gisela (8/5): -
- Eva (10/5): -
- Aaron (7/5): - We stayed overnight in one of the tents while travelling back from Queensland to Sydney. The accommodation itself is very basic, but that’s clearly part of the experience and exactly what we expected. What really stood out was the staff — they were absolutely amazing and looked after us so well. I asked for a fan for the tent and they did their best to organise one straight away, which was really appreciated.
The location is fantastic and the overall vibe is very much backpacker-style, with lots of young people around, but it’s still a very comfortable and welcoming environment. I genuinely enjoyed what they had to offer and felt relaxed and well looked after during our stay. I’d actually be interested in coming back again sometime, as it had a great atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience.
- Shawn (4/5): - Location right on the beach Was a bit of a junk yard over crowded
- Zoe-Anne (7/5): -
- Thornley (4/5): Great location but I DO NOT rate the tipis - The beach is great The lamp had no light & the beds were awful. The shower block was really in need of repair. I was alone in there with my toddler (there's only 4 toilets & showers for all campers) he was outside yelling saying we had taken long enough to shower & should be considerate. I don't know if he was yelling about us. I did leave my toddler in while I got dry but it was not long at all!
- Sharalee (10/5): - Location and being dog friendly I had to go home after being in such a beautiful spot
- Renee (4/5): Foul and would not stay again - I got a last-minute booking, travelling with my dog, which was a relief given the time of year. The staff were friendly. The tent I was originally checked into did not have working zippers on the fly screen or outer tent, so after I asked, I was moved to another tent, which was cleaned while I waited. The campground bathroom facilities stank and were filthy. The overall lack of care and attention to cleanliness and any kind of detail in the campground is disgusting.
- Natasha (10/5): A perfect Christmas Day ☺️ - Absolutely gorgeous location in the cabins on the water Nothing
- Jocelyn (8/5): - Location
- Paul (9/5): Fantastic and relax - Great location, comfortable cabins & well equipped and puppy friendly Not a lot
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Amanda (5/5): - Location near the water was great The bed was too soft and so uncomfortable that we pulled the single mattresses from the bunks and laid them on the floor. The first day we arrived was so hot and there’s no air conditioning. Luckily it cooled down throughout the night but not enough to get a full night sleep. There was no door between the main bedroom and the bunks/living area.
- Skye (1/5): -
- Annette (10/5): -
- Colin (1/5): Sadly very disappointed - The location and view was beautiful. The cabin was extremely run down. Sadly there were many things wrong. Curtains only on 2 windows and the door. Very dirty with dead bugs everywhere. Extremely uncomfortable double bed. Bathroom door stuck each time you tried to open it. Cockroachs in all the cupboards and cockroach poo in the fry pan. I could go on forever. Advertised there was a Cafe which there isn't.
- Alexander (6/5): -
- Jayne (7/5): loved it - The location is perfect place needs a little TLC
- Stephen (1/5): -
- Ian (10/5): - No ac
- Polly (3/5): We made a booking for this property for one night and received an email a few days beforehand saying that one night book -
- Mitch (1/5): Beautiful location but run down facilities - The place was disgusting
Not worth the money they charge
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- JANET (4/5): Very ordinary accommodation at a big price!!! - Nothing Everything
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful spot and would return! - Absolutely gorgeous location. Cannot beat the beachfront beauty. Relaxing and quiet. Depending on what you’re after. We absolutely loved the low key beach shack vibes. Some people might prefer more polished finishes
- Trent (5/5): The location is paradise and the staff lovely, but the park in general is extremely tired. - Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The location is outstanding. We were in a waterfront cabin that sat on the creek and approx 150m to the beach. The cabin was aged and dirty. It appeared that many previous guests had (poorly) hidden soaps throughout the bathroom. The bathroom door did not close. The gangway to the beach appeared aged with duct tape used on the railing which was no longer connected.
- Analisse (10/5): Great location nice people free coffee - Complete water front very relaxing would go again TV was not working at all wanted to watch the footy had to watch it on my iPad
- Leigh (10/5): -
- Leigh (10/5): Outstanding! Liked it so much stayed an extra night. - Outstanding location with beautiful views of the coast and out to sea!
Comfy and well appointed water front cabin, clean and spacious.
- Gino Difonso (6/5): - $50 it’s super expensive for an unpowered site
- Kylie (8/5): Older style but comfortable - Location, waterfront cabin, friendly staff Nothing really
- Damiano (2/5): Poor - The location is amazing The villa was very dirty. The couches were disgusting and smelled very bad. We had to wash all the cutlery and plates before using them as they were not clean . It is very disappointing as it is a lovely destination .
There was no staff member to inform as we were leaving , but there seemed to be a massive water leak underneath the cabin .
- Natalie (10/5): Was grateful to be upgraded. If I had to navigate mud, puddles in heavy rain go find toilet in rain I would have been in - Location
Service great, friendly, accomodating Arriving in the dark in heavy rain and late at night, visibility was terrible, rain cover was non existent between car and office. Map inaccurate to locate cabin which had different number on the front visible side. Poor drainage on property, puddles everywhere
- Nicole (5/5): Passable - The location was amazing. The staff that we did see were friendly but there was not a lot of staff. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The bed was a flimsy old spring bed.
Campers letting children run around from approximately 6am.
No privacy in the cabins, the campers were constantly out the front of the cabin at all hours if the day.
The staff that was available looked more like campers than staff, no uniforms and often, not even wearing shirts or shoes.
Smoke alarm batteries were not changed and kept beeping in the middle of the night yet no staff available to rectify.
- Rachel (7/5): Good -
- Omar (1/5): Bad -
- Nigel (1/5): Never again - Nothing Everything
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (2/5): Uncomfortable and expensive. Just paying for a view. - Staff friendly. Deck at the front of cabin was a nice place to sit with a view of the ocean. It was expensive for what it was. Just paying for a view of the sea. The cabin was hot and no air con. They had pedestal fans but were not effective. The bed had a metal frame which made noise if we moved and the mattress was hard. Small windows didn’t let much
cool air through and some of the insect nets had holes so had to close the window. It would have been good if the glass sliding door had insect nets so could leave it open. Lots of light pollution from the main communal area behind the cabin and the curtains didn’t block it all out. We had a terrible nights sleep due to the heat and the uncomfortable bed. Understand it’s a campground cabin but for the expensive price we were expecting it to be comfortable.
- Harvey (7/5): Good -
- Bruce (5/5): Shit. - Booking.com is a rip off. On line you book a cabin with picture of a room etc. In reality it's a f....g campsite!!! I had to go and buy a tent, mattress and didn't stay the 4 nights I had booked and paid for, I left after 2 nights!!
Never again booking.scum!!
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kylie (1/5): The photos were extremely deceptive. This place was a dump. Horrible experience but they were very good at giving me a f - The location. They falsely advertised. The villa was run down with mold, stains, kitchen was falling apart and dusty.
- Nicole (3/5): Poor - Our camp site was tiny and was blocked in by a large tree preventing access to the site. It was only a few metres wide with campers on each sides with much larger blocks. The site at the end on the water with the large tree in the centre should be removed as people should not have to pay for that small area
- Jan (5/5): Location was great accommodation, not good! - Location location, location, right on the beach It did not live up to the photos, the HUT is OLD! Mould on the ceiling!
- Placidus (1/5): Bad -
- Minns (2/5): Really bad septic smell, run down and derelict grounds, expensive - The whole place smelled of septic. The place had litter all over. The staff were general polite, but only gave bare minimum. The place was run down and random structures and skip bins around the place. It was not an uplifting environment or well maintained. The facilities were regularly cleaned. The smell of septic, the obvious run down nature of the while place, not well maintained. Did not warrant the expensive price. For instance we pay the same on the beach in Byron with well maintained and fresh grounds and facilities, walking distance to town.
- Stephanie (10/5): Relaxing - The closeness of the beach and tidal creek to the accomodation. The size of the cabin. It would have been better if it’s was slightly spacier.
- Mallory (8/5): An old school relaxing holiday by the beach in a small town with limited facilities and no shops! - Location is perfect. The beachside cabins are right by the creek and overlook the beach. Perfect for a sunny weekend away or a weeks holiday A gate on the verandah to be fully enclosed for the dogs would be good.
It’s a rustic old beachside cabin so don’t expect a luxurious soft bed but it does fine.
- Robin (6/5): Great spot but poor security - Right on beautiful beach with nearby bush walk Poor security !! No key to door so had to keep everything in car when not in room
- Graeme (1/5): Not worth mentioning how I felt - Good location I booked in at 2pm on 2nd January and had a tent site (41) on which I was putting up a swag for the night. I came back around 6pm to find the occupiers of site 42 had left their vehicle right in the middle of my site. Nobody in attendance. I Asked management to ring unit 42 and ask them to move their vehicle. I waited nearly 30, minutes and nobody came. I went back to the office and nobody answered so I left in disgust.
I require a full credit on my $100 as I will be declining the charge when I get my next bill
- Gurkamal (3/5): Poor - Location Was not clean. Had issues with booking. Last minute cancelled one day of stay
- Alex (6/5): Convenient and cheap but noisy. Party accomodation. - Room was separate to party goers. Party accomodation. Lots of teenagers partying heavily.
- Ainsley (1/5): Bad -
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherry (8/5): Great stop over on a road trip - The location was fantastic right on the beach and close to many other beaches nearby. The cabins are rustic and basic but comfortable. While it’s family size, it felt cramped with 2 adults and a teenager but we were mostly outdoors.
- Jessica (4/5): Disappointing - Good location, right on the beach. My partner wanted to stay here for the surfing as he had been here a few years ago. However the accommodation and facilities are now very run down. I paid $120 for myself and my partner and I don’t think the accommodation matches the price. We were offered very limited information at check in, told there were no keys for our cabin so we couldn’t lock our room and the other guests were unfriendly which made us feel uneasy.
The kitchen was very basic, the sinks were blocked and it was quite dirty. The sheets had stains on and towels are not provided. The price doesn’t match the quality and you can get much more for your money in a motel.
- Michael (7/5): Deal with the properrty directly and avoid Booking.com! - The location, excellent! Staff were excellent, having to deal with another Booking, com stuff up... Booking, com had got it wrong again! There was no room with big screen TV!
Only a double bunk with no TV in the small dorm/room. Apparently, Booking.com gets this wring quite often, and the management have ti deal with this quite often, and they did their best to provide a dorm room foir the night,
- Ester (1/5): Bad - Nothing
- Hely (8/5): Very good -
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (1/5): Not nice - The price was absolutely appalling for the facilities ,won’t be using booking in the future!
- Edward (5/5): Reasonable accommodation, but not quite as advertised. - The location is right on the beach, which is cool and easily accessible. The staff were generally friendly and free parking was available. The accommodation was part of a complex of a local surf school [Mojo Surf], which wasn't stated in the booking. This meant when I arrived, it wasn't clear that I should contact the surf school for out of hours (though I had listed a late arrival on my booking form) as I was looking for 'The Beach'. Fortunately I asked some people passing who helped. Otherwise, I felt it wasn't value for money [60 dollars for the night]. I had booked a bed in a mixed four-bed dorm, which was as advertised, but there was no lock on the door and the accommodation felt very basic in comparison to other accommodation for a similar price I stayed at. These weren't deal breakers, but I feel this should have been reflected in the accommodation price + overview.
- Sukhman (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (8/5): We loved it & would love to come back & stay in a bigger cabin. - The location was spectacular & loved that the cabins were so close to the water!
- Jessica (5/5): Beautiful location, disappointing accommodation and facilities. - The location of the accommodation was outstanding it was such a beautiful little spot. The website stated the accommodation was renovated which our cabin did not appear to be with missing architraves around the door. The railing on the deck was also broken which was actually a bad WHS issue being a hazard with a risk of falling should someone be leaning on it taking in the beach view as many other neighbours were doing from their cabins. The outdoor furniture on the deck was also quite old as was other outdoor furniture throughout the property.
Of a night it got a little too warm however there was no air conditioning and no fans to use in the room however 2 heaters were provided. There was also no fly screens on the windows so the windows were unable to be left open to let the breeze in without a lot of bugs coming into the cabin.
Prior to arrival, we checked the website to see what cooking facilities were available in the room, the website stating there was an electric frying pan in the room. We bought groceries in an attempt to save money when attending suitable for the facilities allegedly provided however there was no electric frying pan in the room.
The consatina door on the bathroom did not lock or shut properly allowing no privacy when in use and the water from the shower leaks all over the floor due to the excessively long shower curtain.
There were also no curtains on the sliding door right in front of the single bed allowing for no privacy of a night.
We did notice the cabin beside ours had a pedestal fan as well as curtains on their sliding door.
- Mel (10/5): Family - I love that it was right on water front and the staff were so chilled and relaxed. there wasn't really nothing
- Mark (7/5): Good - Excellent location
- Peters (8/5): Very good - The view. The villa Nothing
- Brenda (1/5): Terrible at $200 per night, unsafe, no other units available. - Breakfast N/A. Location good. I want a full refund. Accommodation extremely poor for $200per night. We did not have a key so had to take everything out of the unit when we went out for 2 day conference. My daughter and I felt very unsafe and had to barrackade the door for additional security.
- Kimberley (10/5): Beautiful location, lovely interactions with staff members. - The location is incredible. It was lovely and quiet so I stayed a second night. The beach front cabin didn’t have air conditioning which made it a tad cold but we were provided with a heater the second night. I could imagine the cabin being very warm during summer without air conditioning. Price was definitely on the higher side for the cabin.
- Samantha (1/5): Avoid, not a pleasant stay - The only good thing about this place was the location The staff were rude and unorganised, facilities were disgusting.
The amenities within the room were shocking, tv tiny, bed uncomfortable, lounge about to fall through the floor, tv the size of an iPad, no air conditioning/ no heating (freezing) in winter.
Room was confirmed for us to arrive to no room ready and waiting 30mins. No key to room unable to lock it, gate code given don’t open gate so became stuck in the middle of the night.
- Shawn (9/5): Superb -
- David (1/5): Ruined my weekend, did not stay a night and left - Nothing. Tiny accommodation. Inadequate bedding inadequate utensils for cooking inadequate heating fly screens torn television did not work bed was king single but bedroom was so small you could not fit a queen
For $200 a night this really is poor value for money I did not stay one night returned the keys and requested contact from the manager regarding a refund of sorts. Never heard a thing. Disappointed and no accountability.
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant -
