Guest Reviews
- Lineke (9/5): Good place for a layover at Bangkok. - Lovely Homestay, conveniently located next to Makkasan airport railway and metrostation.
Some good restaurants nearby.

- Sandi (9/5): - Great there was a fridge in the room & the location is great I was upset that the lovely grandma that was there last time, wasn't there anymore. I hope that she is alright?
- Todd (9/5): Good value for money ! - It’s very close to the Metro, It goes directly to the airport very good apartment to stop in if you’ve only got one or two nights in Bangkok No coffee or tea but the price reflexes this !

- Liza (7/5): An option for transit if you explore elsewhere in Thailand but base in Bangkok. - Prime location and accessible. Host is nice and helpful, room is clean and tidy. Nothing.
- Liza (7/5): An option to transit with Thailand but base in Bangkok. - As per the last bonus question, I meant this property can be reached by grab, taxi, hired car, train, MRT and skytrain. Convenient. Nothing.

- Lian (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (5/5): Makkasan - Was perfectly placed for the Airport rail link. Shower was good. Small room. Had to ask for the kettle. Then had to ask again for something to drink out of. Microwave present, but no plate, bowl, spoon or fork!!! Steep and narrow access to the room
- Dr. (8/5): Very good - * Friendly of the owner
* Good place to stay for a holiday not for bussiness or work 1. No table for working
2. No hair dryer
- Neal (3/5): Poor -
- Rahul (7/5): Good -
- Cyntr33 (6/5): Pleasant - Makkasan Happy Home is just opposite of Makaasan BTS station. Easy for travelers who take airport transfer from/to Sukumbhit airport. The issue is, there is no road crossing in between from Makkasan Station to Makkasan Happy home!!
Booked for one night, and then transferred to another hotel near Rama 9. Which is a convenient place for food and markets. • Location.
• No breakfast option.
• No restaurants nearby.
• Only 'Grab'/ taxi is the solution to go nearby.
- 18 (7/5): Good - Very neat and the old lady is the sweetest! Noise from the road when you don't have earplugs
- Berret (9/5): Superb - The owners are kind and the room was clean and simple. Fine place to stay. It's right next to the Makkasan rail link and near other convenient transport options, but just know that you have to walk along a road with no sidewalk for about 300 m to get there.
- Mayckon (7/5): Overall it was good, everything someone needs to spend a few night, nothing fancy, but well cleaned. If you are on a bud - I like that it was clean and had what we needed. I didn’t like the fact that it was infested with mosquitoes when we checked in. I had to buy insecticide spray so we could get some sleep.
Location is also a bit tricky, it’s close to the train station makkasan which is quite nice, other than that in front of the apt. there’s only a main road and no so much options. To sleep is more than enough tho. Taking a shower in the bath 🛀 is not so great, but hey, no real complaining here apart from the mosquitos (which was not a problem after I bought the spray.
- Wong (8/5): Very good - Good Location: Metro line MRT (Petchaburi station) & Airport Railway Link (Makkasan Station) distance within 10 mins walking.
Room: Room is clean & comfortable. I stay double bed room have bath tub, fridge, microwave, hair dryer.
Design: I like the greenery view outside the bedroom & the bath room.
Recommend to Solo travelers & small family stay. A train passby this homestay, the sound quite loud & will continue until 11pm.
- Lee (8/5): A clean and Good Stay - The host had make the room superbly clean, even cleaner than my home. Bed and pillows were very comfortable to sleep every night. Aircon, fan, WIFI, water and toilets all working well. Very well maintained. Higher than hotel standards :) While the location on the map looks very close to MRT/ BTS, there was a huge railway line blocking the way to Host's place. I did not like it exactly as I have to walk along the pretty heavy vehicle traffic before reaching premise which I felt unsafe as a pedestrian. Further to that, it was a pit stop for many travel buses, Grab cars/ bikes and even illegal car parking, making me feel unsafe just to walk beside them when returning back in the Dark (<50cm). While I know it is beyond the host to do anything, there is still this unsettled fear in me when returning back every evenings. Street lamps there were very dim.
- Sook (7/5): Good -
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Very nice people and clean location - Host were very nice and the place was just how it was described The street it's on is not nice to walk down because of traffic and no side walk
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and price
- Sushmita (10/5): Perfect for a short and sweet stay - Small, clean, cute and cozy room located near airport line, MRT, platinum mall etc! We rented the room for half a day and everything was great!! Kind and welcoming host. The vibe is more like an Airbnb than a hotel. Everything was great.
- Eugene (9/5): Superb - close to makkasan station
- Jean-philippe (8/5): Very good - No fridge in the room-
- Kseniia (10/5): I liked my stay. - Very clean space. Nice hot tub. Hot water running with no interruptions. Very nice hosts. The room has bottled water, soap, shampoo, microwave, fridge, lamp. Plenty of power sockets near the bed and around the room. Although the rooms are in front of the arl station, you either have to walk long along the road with no pavement, or cross in the middle of the road (including the railroad). Also the outside of the rooms is not very neat.
- Jacopo (9/5): Superb - The room was extremely clean and well organised! location wise pretty central but very handy to be close to the train coming and going to the airport if you have to! the staff is superb! they're all nice and extra helpful. I asked to leave the backpack for half a day before catching a plane and they were so nice to keep an eye on it 😍🎒
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Keijo (9/5): Superb -
- Nguyen (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (9/5): A hidden gem! - The hostess was a lovely lady...very friendly, happy & helpful.
The location is excellent with regard to proximity to City Line & Metro train stations. The Guesthouse itself is a bit hard to find as not well marked & set back from the street...once you get in there though, the room is very welcoming, bright & clean.
- Siriporn (9/5): Good - Good Difficult to find the property but the owner is helping us and you can call him
- Stockton (6/5): For a one=night stay it was perfect - affordable and in a good location to access the rail network - proximity to the rail station was great. Very affordable It was a little noisey - busy road location
- Emma (10/5): Can't beat location - Friendly staff and location
- Matthew (8/5): Great value for those in transit - Good location next to the airport rail station and very friendly hosts.
Ideal for those catching or arriving and great value for money. The main road was pretty busy and tight when walking parallel.
As noted by some, best to walk to the far end of the station and cross directly over the rails of the local train.
- Stephanie (7/5): Very local place - I stayed for 3 nights on the 2nd level. The room is clean, toilet is clean, there is hot water and water pressure is good. Good air-conditioning too. The bed is a Queen-sized bed and comfortable. Blanket is good, but not sure if it's big enough for 2 people. Towel, shampoo sachets, small soap bars, 4 hangers, 2 free bottles of water are provided. The old lady is nice and speaks sufficient English. There are CCTVs around, so I think it is safe. It is a REALLY local place. If you are OK with the 10-minute walk along the road towards the big junction, there is an underground metro mall at Phetchaburi MRT that's small but has eateries, Lawsons, Amazon cafe, bakeries, and some pop-up stalls selling take-away Thai/western food. Diagonally across the junction and some way down there is a large mall next to "Singha complex" that's big and nice too. If you walk the streets around the junction, there are eateries around as well. Although the place is directly opposite Makkasan station, I found it very dangerous to cross the road as suggested by others. I personally found it difficult to haul my small carry-on luggage across the drain. From the station, it's much safer to exit at exit 1 (I think), and cross the road at the zebra crossing then walk along the wall. Or walk along the overhead bridge to go down into the Phetchaburi MRT and underground tunnels to exit on the other side. It is at least a 15-minute walk from Makkasan station to the accommodation.
It took some time for me to get used to the noise - I could hear my neighbours, for some reason, it was also near the main road so a lot of traffic noise. There is also a steam/diesel train going past at about 5/6am in the morning. There is no outdoor dining area - a small foldable breakfast-in-bed table is available in the room. There is only a microwave, no fridge. The room doesn't have much space for luggage, I could open a small carry-on and some shopping bags around. I feel like if you have big luggage, this place will not work as well for you as you'll have to carry the luggage up the stairs, and navigate the traffic with that luggage. But if you're looking for somewhere very local, this will probably work very well for you.
- Sakon (1/5): Bad -
- Awntung (9/5): Great value for money, suitable for solo travelers. - The room is comfortable, just like staying at home. The environment is cleaned thoroughly and is very tidy. The air conditioning is very comfortable. The bathroom has a bathtub, so you can take a bath or a shower. One pleasant surprise was that the shampoo worked really well. At night, it is generally very quiet, with only occasional car noises. Outside the room I stayed in, there is a small fish pond, which is very cute. Although the location is close to the MRT and the airport light rail, and it's convenient to get around by taxi, it's not very easy to walk there.
- Donato (4/5): There are much better values for the same or less money. - clean room, staff very nice no TV, toiletries, shower hose hanging, no hot water in sink, noisy fan, hard to find, lots of walking
- Ferrtw (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pontakorn (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Happy home, nice family b&b - The contact with the owners was very nice .the owner let me in the room at 8.00 am because my sleeptrain was coming in the aphiwat central station at 6.00.very grateful for the hospitality.thanks again The road to makasan station was crowded.be careful
- Federica (8/5): Nice stay near makkasan station - Really close to the makkasan station but to reach it you have to walk 5 Min by the main road without pavement.
Nice and very clean room. Cramped entrance with one flight of stairs, no real facilities or reception
- Evan (10/5): Great place, epic location, wonderful hosts! - Prime location right across the street from Makkasan Station making for extraordinarily easy commute. Grandma is sweet, and the rooms are always incredibly clean. Strong WiFi and aircon, and comfy beds. My go to in Bangkok!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful hosts, great location next to the railway station, clean, comfortable and affordable.
Easy check in and check out.
Will book next time we are in Bangkok.
- Hoang (3/5): Poor -
- Fisher (8/5): Very good -
- Christophe (5/5): Passable -
- Cindy (3/5): Poor -
- Allaq (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miroslav (9/5): Superb - The staff was really nice.
The location was the most important thing for me. Right across from the Makkasan ALR station, so I could easily catch the first morning train on my way to the airport.
On arrival, I was not able to find the shortest way from the station right away, so here is a little tip: Exit the ALR station through exit No. 1. Outside there is usually a taxi or two waiting. Go straight across the taxi parking area and the road next to it under the station structure. Cross carefully the railway tracks where there is a gap in the concrete barrier separating the tracks from the parallel New Petchaburi street. Cross also this street carefully (it's usually quite busy), turn right, and walk along the other side of this street, along a number of buses and vans parked there untill you see the right address 1579/50. See the attached photos. There was a microwave for basic cooking, but no cups or other containers. So bring a microwaveable container with you to prepare tea or some other light meal.
There was no real chair or place to use the computer.
- Ugmeup (10/5): Pleasant and quiet - Very close to railway line to the airport, staff were exceptional and so pleasant. Would stay here again no problem. Tricky to find if you don't have data on your phone, but if you use maps you will be fine
- Owen (9/5): Superb -
- Lena (8/5): Great value for money - Super close to the Makkasan ARL station and metro as well. We arrived super late and the hosts still welcomed us and made our stay as easy and swift as possible Traffic noise which is to be expected from the location, which we chose on purpose
- Adam (7/5): Good - Hostes was fabulous and friendly. Great facilities and very clean and comfy. Thank you Location but not the properties fault.
- Di (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Happy stay and convenient - Nice and cosy, clean, easy to get to the airport .
Lovely old lady is the host. Nothing really
- Lars (7/5): Fair room - Really really nice owner, I felt very welcome. Clean room. Good for a night or two. You have to walk along a very busy road without any pavement to get there.
- Christele (8/5): very neat and nice place - very clean room, very nice bathroom, with airco, hot shower. the house is not directly situated on the street (less noise) the location is good as it is close (100 meters ) from Makkasam metro. However, the street in front of the house is quite dangerous for pedestrian (i recommend you walk above the rails and go through the metro system).
- Daria (8/5): Very good - It's perfect place to stay for 1-2 nights near to 2 metro lines to airport and Bangkok Center. If you wanna see real Bankok life and connect with locals it's a nice guest house, Hostes are very cute and hospitable, helped us with some problems. The territory is green, feels like home and cute. The room is clean, small, shower inside. Price-quality is great for big City like Bangkok. The guest house is located on highway, there isn't sidewalk, you have to go like 400 meter. along the highway or cross rails and highways without traffic lights or get taxi to be able to get there.
If you are looking for good hotel services, comfortable and private it isn't the place. Hostes make it by themselves at their house, so again, if you wanna know how locals live in capital of Thailand it's nice, if wanna service it isn't for you
Also Because of highway and metro it's noisy
- Bartolome (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sootgetsthemoot (8/5): Very good - It was close to makkasan Airport link station and not far to Petchaburi MRT . Perfect for an overnighter. The water let alone hot water wasn't working probably. There was no pressure at all . Just dribbly
- Wanweena (7/5): Good for short stay. - Owners were very kind and helpful. The room is clean and nice. The decoration is lovely. The location is not far from the airport rail link although you have to cross the railway track and then walk to the property. The water system was a little bit problematic. I lived on the second floor and the water did not flow so well and the warm water did not work properly. However, the owner was helpful to provide support
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (10/5): Very good - Very good Everthing was good
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Close to metro and city line to Airport.
Clean. Good water pressure in shower.
- Todd (10/5): Very warm welcome from hosts ! - The location is great for the airport Maybe a doorbell on the gate at the front of the house ! And put a sign on it saying bell.
- Todd (8/5): Very good - The location is the best for the airport !
- Karolina (9/5): Practical and comfortable stay! - A really comfortable and clean stay & great value considering the price! Very kind owner who cares strongly for your comfort. A very nice air con system and a beautiful garden! Water pressure in shower could be better, but it was alright :)
- Emma (10/5): Absolutely lovely! - Absolutely wonderful stay! Lovely and clean room and the friendliest hosts.
Close to all transport links and easy walk to markets.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, host was communicative and friendly, and location was very close to Makkasan station so easy to get to from airport. Lines go direct to Asok and connect for easy transportation. Also very cute and green property - I loved the plants on the balcony! It was a little difficult to walk from the station with luggage since it was along a road, but this could be totally avoided with a grab or taxi.
- Mark (10/5): I will be back as better then expected. - A very clean and comfortable room. So close to the new Temple of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Located right near the Airport train and the MRT. Bed was a little harder then I was used to, however, was fine for the second and third nights.
- Mons (1/5): Avoid this property - Refused to stay the night, so that probably sums it up. The room was not cleaned or prepared when I arrived and the plumbing did not work. Since this was unacceptable, I needed to book another hotel and discussed the matter with the hosts. I asked them to waive the cancellation fee since the property was clearly not up to standard and I never spent more than a few minutes in the room (enough to realize that it was not fit to stay in). But they refused. So I paid 90% of the reservation fee for two nights although I never used the room and through no fault of mine.
- Vadym (9/5): Near to subway and train station - Location is quite, even though there is a train station and road. Excellent choice if you come for 1-2 days by business. Very nice home owned. All good. Little bit overpriced
