Guest Reviews
- Dione (9/5): - Quarto confortável e bem equipado. Banheiro grande.
- Brent (8/5): Nice rooms, good part of town. - Small property, but room was nicely sized. Very clean Wasn’t given much warning on how the room would be up very steep stairs. But no worries.
- Ismagilova (8/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): - the room itself is really great, comfortable and has all that i needed. price was also very good the street outside is being renovated so on the weekdays there’s unforunately noise from quite early in the morning. earplugs helped but it still woke me up. once this renovation ends i don’t have anything bad to say about it. on weekend its great
- Katharina (9/5): Nice, cozy apartment with everything you need. - The room was cozy like on the picture. Clean, comfortable, fridge, coffee, towels, soap provided. Location was convenient to visit the European Parliament and city center. Room was very quiet, area was clean and safe. I didn't mind, but you need to bare in mind that climbing up the stairs to the attic where the room is located is very difficult. I managed to lift up my luggage somehow, but if you are not strong in your arms or feet, it would be a challenge. The room is worth the climb though.

- Stefan Pan (5/5): Room in a family house - Cozy space on top of a family house.
Clean and over all comfortable.
I loved the coffee machine. Communication was a bit difficult.
The access to the room was not so easy.
The internet connection wasn't great.
There is some work on the street, but I guess it's temporary.

- Petra (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at Un Sommeil Paisible! I stayed for 3 nights and encountered no issues. The place looked as in the pictures, getting in was easy, the place was really well equipped (coffee maker, fridge, microwave, electric kettle, paper plates, forks, towels, hair dryer). The apartment itself was very tiny, but it did not bother me at all, it felt really cosy :) As others mentioned, the mattresses on the beds are very soft, so if you prefer a firm mattress, just be aware.
It was pretty cold outside during my stay, but the heating was working and I was never cold.
The apartment is in the attic area of a very narrow building and the halls are very narrow to. I do not have mobility issues and travelled with a backpack only, so it wasn’t a problem for me. I actually found it really charming! But I imagine it would be difficult to access for someone who has mobility issues.
The apartment’s location was ideal for me, it was only 20-25 minutes by foot from Bruxelles Midi/Zuid train station and was very close to the sights I wanted to visit. There are many restaurants, shops, pharmacies and bakeries is the area.
Some people mentioned the tram being loud/shaking the building - personally I did not notice that or have any issues. Maybe I am just used to noises like this :)
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, I was aware of everything I should be aware of before arriving, so nothing came as a surprise. Oh, and the place was very clean! I really recommend this cosy apartment if you’re in Bruxelles. I will certainly return! ⭐️ -

- mokumhammer (9/5): - Clean, well equipped & good location
- Miri (9/5): -
- Steven (10/5): - Very nice and relaxing time
- Lara (10/5): -
- zakaria (10/5): - Todo bien.
- Sandrine (8/5): -
- Morteza (7/5): - Kind supportive staff Very steep and narrow stairs
- Foley (10/5): - It was a very nice room equipped with everything you need, top class !! The steps were quiet tight, leading into the room, so not for someone whose legs would not be stable.
- Anita (10/5): Charmin attic room - Nice neigboorhood, walking distance to the city. It is actually an attic room. So if you have a lot of lagguage or week knees, you should know this info. I didn't mind, it was kind of cute
- Fatih (8/5): Comfortable, cozy - The room was really cozy. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was a coffee machine with extra cups, coffee and a water boiler. The bathroom had a lot of space. The entrance to the room was really tricky, the stairs are really small if you end up staying at the top floor.
- Yufen (9/5): Superb - The apartment is really comfortable, clean, and not far from Forest National (we came for a concert). The shower is nice and strong. I highly recommend this accommodation for ppl who visit for concerts or shows - it’s nice to be able to get back at late evening!
- Mrbander (8/5): I recommend it for a short visit, for 1 person. - Great location. Aldi supermarket is in front of the house. The owner was nice and available. The room was clean and well equipped (fridge, hairdryer, kettle, coffee maker). Check-in and check-out were easy. The stairs to the roof are incredibly steep. Attic room built into the roof. Not a full room. I only recommend it for a short visit and only for 1 person.
- Angelia (8/5): Lovely stay for the price - The location is very central for the price we are paying. Benjamin was very nice too and accommodating. The room is lovely and have a lot of facilities (fridge, hair dryer, kettle, coffee maker, etc.). The check-in/check-out system is very straightforward as the building is secured with PIN and there is also a lock box for the room key. Got a roof window as well, which is good lighting and circulation. The only downside is the location of the room, where it's on the very top floor (assumed it's the roof) and the stairs to go to the room is very steep and narrow. Would be difficult if you have to go with an elderly or someone who struggles walking/climbing. Carrying a suitcase would be challenging too if alone.
- Danylo (8/5): Very good -
- Tatiana (8/5): Very good -
- Adina (9/5): Superb -
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandra (9/5): Lovely place in a great location! - Lovely place! The room was super cozy, beautifully arranged, very clean, and had all the needed amenities. The location is perfect, close to attractions but quiet enough to relax. The owners are super welcoming and helpful. Definitely a place worth recommending!
- Michal (9/5): Superb - Cozy well equipped room in belgian style (i.e. high density :-). It's accessible by tram, close to the center and Louisa metro station. Passing trams sent shockwaves through the building, fortunately there were no night trams.
- J. (7/5): Good - Great location. Clean. Owner was nice and available. Independence. The incredibly steep stairs to the rooftop. The lack of a table/chair to seat to write
- Joyce (3/5): Uncomfortable - Host was friendly Check out was 11am. The host message me in the morning 0950am that I have to check out 10am. And I told him on the website the check out is 11am, and from then the host was not friendly anymore, he didn't respond to my messages again
- Virginia (9/5): Superb - It was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful charm. The location was superb for walking into the heart of Brussels When the train went by it shook the building, but that couldn’t be helped.
- Geronimo (8/5): Very good - Good place with good communications. Easy to get into town. Not a problem for us but this place would not be suitable for someone with movement hindrances. Narrow staircase with no elevator.
- Tim (8/5): Amazing value and location. Cheap and very cheerful! - The location was great and the room has almost everything. I wish it had just a few knifes and forks and plates. It has a microwave but then you can’t eat what you heat up. The room is very comfortable, I had a good nights sleep. Just a few knives maybe so you can eat food you bring to the room and maybe just a couple of plates.
- Tashanara (7/5): Good -
- Christoph (7/5): Good - I requested an invoice several times but never got one.
At first there was a response of "of course" after that I was ghosted.
The place is also very hard to find -- you need to call once you're at the address.
- Noreen (7/5): Good -
- Anchi (8/5): Attic room in center of Brussels - Nice location near many chic cafes and the tram. Room is clean with tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning, and chrome cast. It’s in the attic with a perilous staircase.
- Callum (8/5): Good place to stay in the heart of Brussels - A great little place in the city centre and very good value. The room is up some very steep steps which was ok for me but could be an issue for some.
- Johnston (10/5): Overall very comfortable stay. - Benjamin was really helpful. Helped carry my luggage up the small steps. Very hospitable.
- Silvia (5/5): Disappointed with the hot water running out! - The room and the bathroom attached to it are in the attic (but probably not ideal for tall people) so you have privacy. It doesn't come with breakfast, I think that's what's written on the listing as well. The property is right next to the tram line and every time a tram passes, you can feel the vibration from the room. The staircase leading to the room is very hard to climb so you might want to keep this in mind before booking.
There's no hot water during my shower when I arrived! I told the host I would arrive late and they could have had the hot water booster on for an hour or two after I arrived. Only after my cold shower, I messaged the host there's no more hot water and they turned the hot water on. I couldn't come out half way through my shower to message them. They can't make the assumption people only shower in the morning or at certain time of the day when they have the hot water on. I only stayed here for one night as I moved to another Airbnb in Brussels for 3 more nights as I got my friend joining me from my day 2. My other place is much better than here, it looks like they have the hot water on demand there; this is how you should run an Airbnb or a hotel room! Not like Un sommeil paisible!
- Susan (8/5): Good but warn people about challenging stairs. - Breakfast was not included which I knew. The location was excellent. The property was exceptionally clean Problem getting the shower to work but the host eventually got it going. The top flight of stairs was exceptionally steep and difficult to negotiate particularly going down. The lights on the stairs did not always come on quickly enough so you were in the dark.
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, friendly hosts, great location and amazing price. Would recommend staying here
- Marius (10/5): A good place to stay in Saint Gilles - Good location-5min walk to Horta premetro station. We get earlier than check-in time, into our accomodation, at the arrival time.Excellent!Owner was very kind.Room had enough space and the beds were comfy,Clean. The window from above was very useful.Fridge was vital for us, during those hot summer days.Good value for money. The area was ok.
- Alaa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Xpathstravels (9/5): Little attic room for a short stay in Brussels - Great location near public transportation and lots of restaurants around. Room was clean and comfortable. The host was nice and kind. Good for two friends visiting brussels on a short trip! It was also a great value for where it was located. Need to carry luggage up small stairway so I don't recommend you carry a lot of luggage.
- Aurelien (1/5): Bad -
- Neil (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): I like it - + I just stayed one person. It looks tight for 2 but there’s plenty of space for luggage if you use the part between bed and roof
+ had window and air con
+ had tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave and a fridge
+ bathroom was well equipped.
+ others warned about tram noise but was okay for me. - the other reviews are correct about the room being at the very top of the building. I do see the owner has put a photo of the stairs/ladder going into the room. Wasn’t a problem for me, but at least you can see the photo if you think it’s bad.
- I wish I chose a better location, but tram stops are right outside which can take you to the old town (about 10 minutes) and to the midi train station (15 minutes)
- Wen-ying (9/5): Superb - Quiet and comfortable. None
- Kaleem (9/5): Great little place ! - Clean, good location, good value and all we needed nothing
- Thor (9/5): Superb - Extremely good value. Has everything you need for a shorter trip. Convenient location. The AC was a life saver Trams outside shake the building and wake you up at night. Beds were quite uncomfortable
- Tatjana (9/5): It was great time. 👍 - Clean and comfortable room, good value for money. And many thanks to the owner for his help in some matters. No. I liked everything.
- Dana (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible beds! I had a hard time getting up
- Szekely (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivana (10/5): Exceptional - Pretty, small, clean and safe appartment. Main street but courtyard view.
- Chitapa (10/5): Exceptional - If you stay Brussels I recommend this place. Not far from downtown you can take a tram and walk 1-2 minutes.
- Amily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristian (7/5): Good - Very well equipped. Very good size. It had a difficult access
- Isaac (6/5): Pleasant - It was a little difficult to locate the place. The exact house number wasn’t provided so I had to make very many calls to my friends.
- Kristina (10/5): Comfortable and pleasurable - The host and her family were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had everything that one might need
- Mehmet (7/5): Good - Very Clean and close to public transport (tram). There is Netflix, fridge, kettle and coffee machine in the room. Some people may be disturbed due to tram noise and vibration. 1- there is no reception and no automatic entering with a code either. You need to indicate the exact time to meet up with the owner to be let inside. I had to wait one hour in front of the building door on the street.
2- not suitable for couples. The beds are separate. And very narrow even for a single person.
3- the room is in the attic. You reach the room a very narrow and steep stairs which is too difficult to climb with a luggage. You can injure yourself while taking your stuff up there.
- Regina (9/5): Overall very good. - There was no breakfast. Excellent location. The set of very narrow stairs to reach the room in the attic. I had trouble to open the door of the house, the key didn’t work with me.
- Monna (8/5): Very good - Very clean apartment, very nice host Needed to climb very steep stairs. Might not convenient in case you are not stable walking
- Elissavet (9/5): Clean, cozy and value for money - This cute place has everything one needs for a short stay in Brussels. It was very clean and equipped. The owner is very kind. It's value for money. When the trams were passing by I felt a small shaking in the room and it woke me up sometimes but I'm very content with the overall stay
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (8/5): Very good -
- Idowu (8/5): All you need for really good value. - The accommodation was very clean, well equipped and close to Tram stop and a good variety of local restaurants. The bed was very comfy and the room was warm. Host was very welcoming and friendly and allowed me to check in one hour early. Lots of stairs and no lift so may be difficult if you have heavy luggage.
- Serrano (10/5): Very comfy and nice place - Cosy and very comfortable place. The owner welcomed me and was very nice. Great location, easy to reach from Brussels Midi Station, groceries and cafeterías close by. Huge fridge, Nespresso Coffee maker, kettle...Very well equiped. Very comfy bed and heater Some aircon and tram noises at night but not really bothering.
- Julian (10/5): Recommended place while visiting Bruxelles - Everything was great, the price for the place and location was really good, and the services offered were more than enough
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandon (10/5): Lovely and cosy place to stay in Brussels with all amenities - This place really exceeded my expectations. Fully equipped with fridge, coffee making kit, iron etc. Was very impressed. Such a cute and cosy place. The host was also very lovely. You can see they really put thought into what you need during your stay. If you're a big person, shower is a bit small.
- Becca (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. the room was clean and comfortable, and had kitchen supplies to make the stay extra comfortable.
- Bernadett (10/5): Exceptional - It was a small but very practical room. I felt like being at home, I had everything I needed. Thank You!
- Alice (10/5): Comfy and reliable - Benjamin really helped me out and I am grateful for that. The location is convenient for the tram to town. The beds are comfy and nice warm and powerful shower. Room was clean. Benefits of a microwave and fridge although I did not use. I would stay again. The stairs no problem for me but could be for someone else. Felt very private as you are quite separate from the rest of the house.
- Dada (9/5): Superb -
- Geoff (9/5): Fine Apart from the Abysmal Internet - Great location, good communication with host.
Clean, compact, quiet, comfy bed and good shower.
Great price.
The steep last stairs have been flagged so that is a known. The internet freezes continually. Non functional to the point I gave up.
I would suggest a large fire extinguisher. You are in enclosed attic. There is a blacked out skylight onto the roof. I don't know whether that is an option for escape as I couldn't see out. There are wooden stairs to the attic, so in the case of fire you are trapped. Yes, building fires are my thing and that is an issue in this accommodation.
- Károly (5/5): Passable - Flexible and kind host, good value for money. Steep stairs to the attic where the room is located, tea and coffee is provided, but no tea or coffee maker.
- Frank (9/5): Superb - The appartement is very comfortable and clean. The owners are very friendly.
- Muhammad (8/5): Very good - Had microwave, tee, coffee as well..
Separate bathroom Very soft beds
