- Paul (9/5): Wonderful Look forward to returning. - Breakfast was great Loved the friendly feel and choices available. Couldn't possibly beat the price. A lovely start to the day.
The breakfast room, as well as the hotel and room were beautifully decorated. We made a mistake of leaving the window open on our first night and the road traffic was constant. Second night so much better.

Good energy with a well designed environment.
Bed was comfortable and facilities were clean and well organized.
Location is perfect.
Tildy, the hotel manager, was super nice and friendly and she surprised us with a valuable gift for our baby.
We really appreciated her kindness.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Had a lovely stay, the hotel is full of character (in a good way), welcoming, homely, comfortable, quiet, loved having opening windows and never had to wait for someone for the shared bathrooms. Only negative was the street noise, but to be expected in the middle of a city.

- Mary-Rose (8/5): Delightful stay in Hobart - The setup of the Astor is not everyone’s cup of tea but it worked for me. Older style hotel. The rooms are clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Communal TV room. Wifi is free. Gender specific shower and toilet were clean. Central location. Will definitely stay again. Nothing
- John (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this little gem. - Tildy deserves a 10/10 for her personality alone, but this is a little gem of a place right in the city centre and so close to Salamanca Market. The rooms are comfortable and airy, with notably high ceilings, and everywhere is impeccably clean. The WiFi signal in my room at the end of the corridor was a little weak, but that is easily rectified.
- Mick (10/5): Splendid location and a good old fashioned place to stay, much nicer than the standard flat pack - The hotel is very welcoming and the staff are friendly. I had a very comfortable stay and it is nice that the place has traditional fittings, decorations and charm
- Jesse (9/5): A beautiful older place to stay, great for after a hike! - The staff were very accomodating and friendly
- tildy in particular :)

- Naree (9/5): -
- Claire (9/5): A very enjoyable stay! - Lovely hotel with lots of character. Very comfortable and clean. Owners and regulars are both lovely. Fantastic value for money.
- Ramon (9/5): -
- Mart (10/5): Quaint, and comfortable. - Breakfast was easy, value for money, simple, and set in the perfect room. NA.
- Martina Maria (9/5): -
- Alex (10/5): - Location as central you can get. The rooms and facilities were fantastic and very comfortable. But the best parts were the aesthetic and charm, and Tildy is the most welcoming and delightful host.
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (7/5): -
- karen (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Cozy, comfortable stay with welcoming hosts - Warm and friendly staff took good care of us. It's an old hotel, but lovingly maintained with exceptional attention to detail. It feels more like a B&B than a hotel, with a common breakfast room and sitting room for a change of scene from the room in the morning and evening. It would have been nice to have stronger WiFi in the room, but it was strong in the common areas, so no real problem.
- Alan (9/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): Highly recommend - What a lovely unique hotel. The building is bubbling with life and full of gorgeous little details. The beds are incredibly comfortable, everything is clean, and Tildy is a wonderful host. The location is excellent for walking access to the markets and a great base for exploring Hobart. Highly recommend
- atravelerfornow (9/5): Astor Private Hotel in Hobart - Astor Private Hotel is a unique and historic place to stay while in Hobart. The host was amicable and accommodating, the room was clean and spacious, and the location was convenient to shops, restaurants, and points of interest.

- Zipporah (10/5): The host made a very lasting impression on us!! - They were very kind to my mum and took good care of her.
- Winona (10/5): -
- Sanjar (10/5): -
- Huriana (9/5): Comfortably nostalgic, lovely hosts and close to town. - Centrally located. Easy walking distance to ferry terminal, restaurants, cafes and supermarket.
- Kimberley (10/5): I was a real breath of fresh air, probably one of the nicest places we have stayed at. Could not fault it. - Quiet and clean with a great old worldly atmosphere Nothing

- Bang (10/5): I had such a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. It's definitely one of the best things to do in Hobart! - The hotel is in a pretty decent spot in Hobart, and it has some lovely vintage Japanese and Chinese furniture in a building that’s got history. Plus, it’s super clean and not too noisy. Tilda, the owner, is such a lovely and welcoming person who makes every guest feel right at home. From the moment I checked in, I felt a real connection to this wonderful city.
- Kim (10/5): Great hotel, and Tildy and team were very helpful and entertaining. Will recommend anyone to stay. -
- Karki (10/5): Tilda was amazing with hospitality. Very prompt and effective communication. Loved how welcoming and transparent she is. - Hospitality
- Jack (10/5): One of a kind! - We absolutely loved staying in the Astor in Hobart - the whole place is decorated amazingly and it feels very classic and historic as well as unique and quirky :)
The location is perfect - walking distance to the wharfs and loads of great areas of Hobart.
So many nice cafes and restaurants and bars all very nearby.
Our room was spacious and comfortable and had amazing dual aspect. We paid a little more for the en suite as well.
Meeting Tildy was wonderful - who runs the place - and we had many a fun moment chatting to her.
Thanks again and wish we could’ve stayed longer! N/A
- Nina (10/5): - Very quaint, spotless, convenient location, the staff were extremely lovely and kind, couldn’t fault our stay!
- Morgan (10/5): - Impeccable customer service, really made you feel like one of the family. And so flexible with late changes!
- Clay (9/5): - It was a wonderful hotel with old school charm and Tildy the owner just added to the overall vibe of the experience! I will stay here again in a heartbeat rather than those modern soulless coffins…
Thankyou Tildy and Niel…see you again! 10 outa 10 ❤️ Clay

- Guest (10/5): -
- Judith (10/5): Quaint cute - So close to everything loved the feeling of the rooms Nothing
- Sharon (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Simply superb in every way! - Situated very close to the city centre, a short stroll from the airport bus stop and an easy walk to the waterfront, the Astor Hotel met all my location needs perfectly. It was the interior of the historic building and the personable staff who left a lasting and delightful impression. I slept very well on the super comfortable bed. Shared facilities were always available and clean.
- Rachelle (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): Classy, affordable & central, can’t wait to come back. - Absolutely gorgeous interior, spotless bathrooms and great location.
Tildy is a tremendous host and I couldn’t recommend this place more! I’m sad I couldn’t stay there longer.
- Darrell (10/5): Two day stay positioned very closed to the Salamanca market and the historic port. Great spot and full of character. C - I liked the old world charm and the hosts were charismatic, friendly and down to earth. My room was basic and had a shared bathroom but it was perfect for my needs. It was all fine and good value.

Beautiful old hotel with so much personality, quirky, retro, cool. I loved everything
