Guest Reviews
- tim (8/5): Nice and comfortable. Close to town. - Neat and tidy. Had everything we needed. Garden, yard and fencing poor.
No dishcloth in the kitchen.
Back door sticky/ hard to open.
No dryer.
Larger beds would be good.
Front bottom step too tall and difficult to manage.
- Ian (7/5): Mostly comfortable - Fairly Central to Ballarat plenty of Room
Mostly comfortable nice Lounge Room and bathroom and kitchen Unfortunately didn’t have a clothes Dryer
The Beds were far too low alright for young people. ?? The wardrobe in the Ist bed room was ridiculous ( to near the bed) The back yard needed tidying up only one bedside table in each room

- Wendy (10/5): Overall we enjoyed a comfortable stay. - We were sent the wrong code for the lock box to obtain the keys.
- jade (5/5): It was a great location. Lovely owners but unfortunately it wasn’t cleaned properly. - Great location, the house itself was nice. The bed was comfortable and clean. It was very dirty, not wipe down properly. To which I’m sure was down to the cleaners not the owner. When we turned on the ceiling fans a thick layer of dust fell everywhere and we were unable to use them.

- Paul (7/5): Nice little House in a Quiet Location - Lovely street in a central enough location. Off street parking was super handy. The house was relatively well appointed with most things you would need. Its wonderful that dogs are allowed, but the back yard isn't secure with fences falling down, lots of holes for wandering kids or pets. Kitchen needed a deep clean. A few key features like the fan in back room not working. All minor issues though.

- Tony (7/5): It was a good place to stay for 4 adults. - The location was fine as we had a car, close to city central Back fence falling down so we did not use the lovely gazebo as yard was insecure (dogs etc) 2nd bedroom wardrobe was inaccessible
- Suzi Kula (8/5): - Very conveniently situated close to town. The house is in a quiet area and overall comfortable to stay in. The backyard needs some attention and maintenance.
- Geraldine (9/5): - Great location. Great layout inside and outside. Very comfortable. Had everything you needed for a great stay. Very impressive. Enjoyed our stay very much. Would stay there again. One of the bedrooms had no cupboards.
- Allen (9/5): Excellent and pet friendly - Cozy and handy to facilities Just the backyard needs a good green thumb
- Bradley (8/5): -
- erica (8/5): Cute house in a great location. - Aesthetically pleasing presentation, spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds, floor heating, location, good utensils, large shower head. Front security screen door lock was broken, there were 4 keys on the keyring but only 2 locks (you were always trying the different keys in the locks to get the right one), small shower recess. The back room of the house was difficult to use - it could potentially be more useful as a 3rd bedroom.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Amy (7/5): Comfortable and clean - Clean, inviting, Cold in rooms as unfortunately the ducted heating wasn’t working. Only had heat in the main living area
- Renee (5/5): - The microwave was very dirty
We had no bin bags
No dish cloth to wash dishes with
- Davis (6/5): Pleasant - The location was perfect. Close to attractions and city centre. The crockery required cleaning before use.
There wasn't any dish washing liquid provided.
There was out of date food from previous guests in the pantry.
There wasn't any pepper provided.
There weren't any spare or electric blankets provided.
There wasn't any glad wrap or baking paper provided.
It was cold when we arrived, and the single air conditioner struggled to warm the rooms.
The bathroom door had fallen off and needed to be re-hung.
The few information pamphlets provided were out of date.
The remote control for the television required new batteries.
The furniture fabric was stained.
The general cleanliness was below what should be considered acceptable.
I could not recommend anyone to stay at The Alcove.
- Murat (5/5): Has potential with improvements. - Location and spacious. Double bed, too small and soft, was really bad on the back. Need a queen-size bed that is firm. Need another split system on the other end of the house as one split system wasn't enough to reach the back bedrooms.
The sliding door leading in the bathroom is broken and needs fixing.
- Victoria (10/5): The Alcove. Warm and inviting. - A perfect location! Situated 1km from the main shopping precinct of central Ballarat. The Alcove was warm and comfortable. With off street undercover parking as a bonus. Everything you need for a stay in Ballarat is at The Alcove.
- Kristine (4/5): Disappointing - It would be nice if there were hand soap in bathroom that wasn’t nearly finished, fabric softener and washing up liquid. To have a box of tissue wouldn’t kill you either. Just make sure there is enough for the people that stay there four towels for four nights and not enough cleaning stuff to be able to wash your towels just saying
- Salma (5/5): Passable - Inside house was clean Beds too small, sharp tiling edge around the shower husband stubbed toes. Outside was a mess, overgrown and fencing falling down, bins not emptied and stunk.
- Corenia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agn (7/5): Good -
- Pru (8/5): Would definitely stay here agin, have now stayed twice. - Location and size of the place was very comfortable and convent Minimal supplies for a week stay, we did purchase a larger saucers for the house (that we left) & did need to purchase more toilet paper.
- Kim (8/5): Suited our needs & had a nice stay - Awesome location. Very close to the CBD. Ducted heating & a split system to keep warm. A couple of things that could enhance the stay would be stronger lighting in the lounge & dining & queen size beds instead for doubles.
- Mina8 (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Christina (8/5): Very comfortable - The location was very good easy walk to town
Accomodation comfortable Would have been helpful to have south added to street address had difficulty finding correct house number because of street configuration
- Corenia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect There was nothing to dislike
