Guest Reviews
- Stuart (8/5): A room with a View and what a view. - Amazing location with stunning views from our family room
- Susanne (9/5): Prachtige locatie.

- Fionoualla (10/5): - Ecolodge K’arasirca was a brilliant place to stay for a couple of days on the island !
The view from our room and dinning room
Was beautiful.
The staff were lovely and very informative.
Would recommend staying here to anyone coming to Isla del Sol!
- Valentina (10/5): - La calma y la vista
- Sara (9/5): - Esperienza stupenda. Vista incredibile, personale molto accogliente, tutto pulito.
- Andywillden77 (10/5): Stunning Views - Wow what a view from the room. Amazing! We also had the jaccuzi in our room which was fabulous. The walk is difficult for people our age (62) however we were aware of it so we knew what we were letting ourselves in for and the eventual payoff of the view made it worth the walk.
- Chesney (10/5): - Hospitality was amazing! Very helpful and attentive.
The rooms were super pretty with incomparable views.
- abdellah (10/5): Excellent if I go back to Isla del Sol I will stay there again - The views from the room, the service and friendly staff
- Caterina (10/5): -
- Luke (10/5): Wonderful, attentive and kind staff. Exceptional service and amazing sunrise views. Highly recommend. - Hotel communicated very well prior to arrival and we received some of the best hospitality we have ever received. The family that run the hotel were very attentive and absolutely lovely. Plus the view of sunrise from our room and the clear night skies were exceptional. Nothing to note.
- Maria Giulia (10/5): Esperienza stupenda!
- Petya (10/5): Beautiful Accomodation worth the walk from the main village - The best view of the lake and a lama just outside our window. Very good breakfast and kind hosts
Me encantó volvería a ir.
- Julie (7/5): Beautiful spot , beautiful view from bedroom - Amazing views. Abraham the owner was very friendly. A bit far from the harbour, 45 minutes steep walk, so if you have a heavy back pack, you need to rent a llama from the hotel. £5 each way per item of luggage , so you need to take this into account when you book.
- Cindy (10/5): - La vue !!!!!
- JEAN-MARC (9/5): Ideal to feel Isla de Sol, and truly enjoy it ! - An amazing location to enjoy Isla Del Sol. The rooms are comfortable and simply very nicely decorated. The family running it is super nice, they helped us to organise a day of trekking with pick up by boat, and from booking to leaving the experience was great.
- NIKOLAOS (10/5): -
- EMMANUEL (10/5): Super vue - La vue
Le personnel très sympa disponible et arrangeant
- Gilles (9/5): Superb -
- Chloe (10/5): Nice stay - The room was very cosy and the view was amazing 🤩
Th breakfast was ok and the personal very helpful and kindly
- Luca (4/5): Disappointing - Great location and lodge. Very cold but the owner was nice enough to give us a heater in the evening. Hot water is a plus. There is so much potential here but lots of things are just average considering the price you pay.
The room looks nice, however the doors do not open/lock easily, they both look broken
The wifi was very bad
The breakfast was OK at best, very small portions, the papaya juice was diluted with water and the coffee terrible. It felt like a constant struggle to spare on every product.
The dinner was a total scam. They guy just sent us a menu without prices on whatsapp, and we had to actively ask for the prices. Everything on the menu was for 100 Bolivianos, which is totally out of market. A whole dinner (three courses) in basically any other restaurant in the village will cost at least half the price. We felt it was a bit dishonest of the owner to.not show the prices upfront, in such a way that people could fall for it. Fortunate we did not.
There were supposed to be lots of activities but the owner never sent us details about that.
Not worth the money and time
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful and serene stay - can only recommmend - We absolutely loved our stay! We had this hotel recommended from one of my Danish friends who stayed here three years ago and stated it was a highlight of her trip in Bolivia. Having travelled for 7 weeks in South America now, we can also say that this is a key highlight of our trip!
We stayed in the Suite with Jacuzzi and it was stunning. The attention to detail in the rooms made us feel very cozy and at ease from the get go. We can highly recommend booking this room if you want a huge window with a nature view and the most relaxing setting. The Jacuzzi fits two people and you will have views of the beautiful lake.
The staff was so helpful and accommodated all our requests be it tea to the room, an extra night, arranging baggage service or routes to walk around the island- thank you!
As we booked a second night we changed rooms as the Suite with Jacuzzi was unavailable. We stayed in a Double Room which was also very nice. All in all, treat yourself to a stay here! We enjoyed all of it!
- Rita (8/5): Very good - If you decide to benefit the lake view this is the place to go! It’s all great (dinner included) but you have to know in advance that you have to walk for around 30 minutes to reach the ecolodge! Take with you a light backpack and it’s worth it!
- James (8/5): Beautiful setting, kind staff, but a bit rustic. - Incredible hillside setting with picture window views. Very quiet at night with wonderful views of the stars.
Power and hot water worked very well on solar.
Extremely kind and helpful staff who helped with private boat tours of the island.
The 35 minute climb from the boat dock was a significant exercise at 12,600 feet but part of the experience. I strongly recommend reserving the “llama taxi” for luggage- it’s an extra fee, but a must. No drinkable water provided in the rooms - you have to buy it or walk to town. That is pretty basic. Also very few snacks and no sandwiches to buy for lunch.
There was a gas heater but it could only be run an hour or two per day, which meant the room was kind of cold sometimes.
Meals were so-so. After the first day we went to town to eat.
I suggest increasing the price a few dollars and adding more gas heaters and some in-room water.
- Marcelo (9/5): Lovely place, the views are amazing! -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Enzo (9/5): Superb - The room was spacious and the views were breathtaking. The bed was comfortable and warm and the bathroom was clean. The owner replied fast on WhatsApp. Getting to the hotel requires a 45 min hike, which can be quite tiring. For us, the views in the end made it worth it, but be aware that there is a hike. You can request a donkey service to take you there, but we didn't take it. We highly recommend getting the llama taxi service, which takes your luggage up there with a llama.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The best view in town and the staff is super helpful. Thanks! It's important to note that this location is a bit far from the arrival area, which means that you need to walk 45 minutes approximately. But it's definitely worth it!
- Fernanda (10/5): Exceptional - The views are amazing. And Abraham is wonderful.
We were heavy packed and Abraham took our luggage with a Llama.
For the new years the hotel offered a typical meal with bunfire and drink as a courtesy.
- Jeremy (9/5): Incredible views in a peaceful part of the island. Very tastefully finished place & accompdating host. - Incredible view, quiet location, friendly owner, comfortable space & bed.
- Camila (10/5): Magic place - Everything was perfect, so nice and cozy with all the nature included The view was just awesome and the people there is so nice
- Emily (7/5): Lake side view remote lodges - The location had a great view of the lake and was close to an area of the island with restaurants. The accommodation was quiet. We had some bugs in our room after coming back from the day despite keeping all windows and doors shut so there are maybe some gaps in the lodge. We knew the location was further from the port so it was fine but it was over an hours walk, with lots of uphill. This would be fine without altitude but just something to keep in mind.
- Léa (8/5): Very good -
- Grant (9/5): Great views, nice people. - The property is great and staff are amazing. It’s a long work from the boat wharf.
- Menzies (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful big window with amazing view that you could see the sunrise from perfectly! Comfy bed, clean bathroom and helpful staff.
- Ibe (9/5): Great stay with perfect views - Great location to see the sunrise from your bed. Very helpful and attentive staff. Very good bathroom. Some fresh fruit at breakfast would be nice as well.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henrietta (9/5): Beautiful lake view rooms and local, fresh food - Absolutely gorgeous room with a panoramic view of the lake. Dinner was delicious - a huge portion of fresh lake trout. This place felt extra special knowing that it's one of very few lodges on the island owned and run by members of the Indigenous population. This is a father & son duo who has been running K'arasirca for a year. Loved it! :)
- Candida (10/5): Best spot on our trip. - Everything about this place is stunning! The position is not the easiest one to arrive but the view is totally worth it!
We had a panoramic view right in front of our bed on the Moon Island and everything looks like a picture. Staff was amazing, very resposive and perfect communication and it was one of the best spot during our trip. They opened this lodge not a long time ago so of course there are still several constructions in the area but everything so far is worth to go. We wish you all the good to keep up with this love and project!
- Justthinkingoutloud (10/5): Exceptional - The location of K'arasirca is fantastic with amazing views over to the Andes and Isla de la Luna. The cottages are new and of good size. There is a gas heater in the room. The shower with hot water is good too. The breakfast was varied and delicious. U can have dinner at the lodge too. To go to other places for dinner u need to walk for 15 minutes and it will not b easy at night. There r no cooking facilities in the cabins. We asked for a hot water flask and cups and made our own tea. They brought us hot water bottles at night. Nothing is too much for them! They also were very helpful in showing us the start of the 6 hour hike around the island. I can highly recommend K'arasirca Ecolodge and would return there again. Doris Blum, New Zealand Nothing
- Laura (9/5): Quiet eco lodge in Isla del Sol - Perfect location. Amazing views. Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Good breakfast with fresh eggs and yogurt. Nice and available host. Cold room (gas heater available). Good shower on top of the tab but uncomfortable to use.
- Alexandra (10/5): This remote and enchanting place is magical. Stay here! - The view of Lake Titikaka and Isla de la Luna from the bedroom is amazing. Two brothers—Abraham and Ramiro—who run the place did everything in their power to meet every need of ours—from getting us medicine for altitude sickness to taking us on a full day boat tour of all the ruins on Isla del Sol and Island de la Luna. It’s challenging to reach all properties on Isla del Sol but well worth it.
- Lars (10/5): Exceptional - Owned by locals, beautiful views, comfy bed and heating!
- Hervin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alvaro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (10/5): Amazing experience ! - The lodge is located on the edge of the island, offering the most amazing view on the Titicaca lake, the Isla de la Luna, and the high Andean summits on the far.
The experience starts with a reasonable hike, for which you can hire a Llama to carry your luggage’s, and is rewarded with the amazing view at the lodge.
Rooms are superb, well equipped, spacious, and the view, again, from the bed, is incredible.
Breakfast was also fantastic ! In the main house, still with the view. We should have stayed longer…
- Caitlin (10/5): Majestic Views, Excellent Sercice, Spacious & Clean Accommodations - The perfect getaway for my husband and I. The place was spacious and clean, the views were breathtaking, and Abraham and his staff were amazing hosts. They cooked breakfast and dinner for us, made adjustments to our strict diet, and even brought the food to our room. The nights were cold but the gas heater in the room was really helpful.
The trek up to the ecolodge can be taxing if you’re not in shape. But as is any other lodging on the island. And the views make it well worth it! It may also be easy to get lost since there is only one sign for the ecolodge and there are not cars on the island.
When you dock on the island, you’ll have to climb a hefty amount of stairs. Take your time doing so. Climb up until you find the sign for the hotel. From there you’ll pass an old church. After the old church you’ll find a fork in the road. Stay right. The road splits again, and you’ll stay right again. Keep going until you see another fork in the road with a rock wall to your left. Turn left, walk up and then turn right. The ecolodge is easy to find after that.
If you’re looking for a peaceful place with majestic views and excellent service, this is your place! My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer!
- Nilay (10/5): Extremely beautiful view, friendly staff, good breakfast with a view - Extremely beautiful view, friendly staff, good breakfast with a view. The path to the hotel was not easy but staff offered and helped carrying the bags (we had to pay a little bit), everything was so beautiful. They also helped with boat transfer from the main land.
- Ramon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roel (10/5): Would book again - Very clean linens and room. Comfortable beds.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Camille (10/5): Best view ever from the bed! View of the sunrise in a comfortable bed. Very friendly staff, one of the first ecolodges r - the view!!! absolute gem! Very calm and quiet environment, you can enjoy the nature and see the sunrise from your bed!
Breakfast fast delicious as well, in the bedroom!
One of the first ecolodges run by locals! It is not the easiest to find and you have to walk quiet a bit but it is worth it!
- Fabio (9/5): The Ecolodge is STUNNING. The room, the breathtaking view and the kind staff just make it a wonderful place to stay! - The lake view, the room, the surrounding It’s a bit uncomfortable to get up there but luckily the staff is there to help you with your luggage
- Gino (10/5): A haven going back to our root living without cars and depending on bare necessities! - The manager was out of way to make everything smooth!
A good hike from boat dock .
We had a llama staying just outside our window and a beautiful lake view. Due to out of civilization some fixtures are needed for improvements but understandable.
- Sebastian (10/5): A gem outside of the town, family owned ecolodge with the most amazing views and great value for money, would definitely - A gem outside of the town, family owned ecolodge with the most amazing views and great value for money, would definitely come back.
- Wade (10/5): Loved it from the moment we entered and immediately made arrangements to stay an extra day. - Loved that it was a little more remote than the other options - therefore way more tranquil. The breakfast was 'standard' and filling. It was nice to have a dinner option as well with a simple menu that was tasty. Just a couple suggestions for the bathroom:
1. A 'Bath Mat' - A towel that you can dry your feet on.
2. A towel rack near the bathtub.
3. A free standing toilet paper holder
I'd stay there again if they didn't make these improvements, but if you're looking for a couple suggestions...
- Marina (10/5): Staff was super helpful and helped us with tours around the island. Would definetly recommend. - Staff was super helpful and helped us with tours around the island. Would definetly recommend.

- James (10/5): Ecolodge K’arasirca offers a serene, off-the-beaten-path experience with its stunning views, warm hospitality, delicious - Ecolodge K’arasirca was a reminder that the best things in life are often off the beaten path. The journey there was worth every effort, leading to a place of breathtaking views and tranquility.
The heart of K’arasirca is its people - the staff and owner were incredibly warm and attentive. The food was delicious, and the accommodations were both cozy and spacious.
What stood out was how everything - the setting, the hospitality, the meals, and the rooms - combined to create an unforgettable experience. It’s a perfect place for nature lovers and anyone looking to unwind.
I highly recommend Ecolodge K’arasirca for a peaceful getaway. It’s a complete package that leaves you wanting to return. None
- Marcia (8/5): Very good - Fabulous view from room Reception/dinner/breakfast area could be made more comfortable and heated as very cold
- Anonymous (9/5): Beautiful view in a very peaceful location - The view There was a problem with the lock
- Joel (9/5): Pro tip: to get to the island you need to take a boat, tell the captain what lodge you are staying so he can dock at the - Beautiful, stunning views! Exceptional service from the staff, very accommodating . Large comfortable rooms with incredible views of Lake Titicaca. Good breakfast was included. The place is family owned and they do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. As an ecolodge, you need to get used to things like solar powered water heaters. I.e. no hot water at night. It rained the night prior causing the doors and doorframes to swell, so they didn’t close and lock properly. Not really an issue because you are so far away from everything. Also the town lost power the following day, had cell signal at least.
- Richard (9/5): Unequalled location with comfortable rooms. - The location of this hotel gives the most amazing views, the rooms have picture windows so you have a wonderful view all the time.
It is not located in the central village area, so restaurants and shops are a few minutes walk away, though the walk itself is interesting and beautiful. Bring a light for the return walk in the dark as there are few lamps along the way. Breakfast is good and evening meals can be arranged with about an hours notice. The room we had included a large seating area, though we did not really use it as it did not have the view as from the bedroom. Water is solar heated, very hot. Good for an Eco-Lodge. You can request, at a small charge, a llama to carry your bags. I recommend this as it helps with the climb and walk at high altitude and is a special feature in itself! The area outside the room facing the view would be better if it was paved so you could sit outside more easily.
- Yenthe (10/5): Beautiful quiet scenery with really comfy beds - This is a new hotel so the beds are brand new! We slept like a baby in the giant beds :) the view on isla de la Luna when waking up is priceless. You are a bit further away from all the other accommodations so it is amazingly quiet. The staff is really friendly, in the evening it got quite chilly, the owner noticed my husband was really cold and immediately brought us some hot soup without charge.
