- Torben (10/5): - Unglaublich freundliches Personal!

- Daniel (8/5): - La piscina, Un buen desayuno.
- Stefaan (9/5): Beautiful place to stay. - Authentic place. Nice swimming pool. Unfortunately surrounded by new builds, which were very well hidden once you inside the domain. Resupply breakfast could be better.
- Sabrina (10/5): Charmerende personligt og hyggeligt. Vi elskede det - Utrolig hyggelig og charmerende. Fornuftige værelser og meget roligt. Utrolig sødt personale og ejere, vil klart komme tilbage. Intet

- Tony (9/5): Big thanks to Ozvaldo and Jose for helping me during my stay, both very accommodating. I enjoyed my stay. - I liked how remote and quiet it was. I thought the breakfast was a little disappointing, there wasn’t much on offer.
- Jonathan (1/5): Disappointing - Beautiful building and nice pool area. Decent breakfast in a beautiful dining area. The rooms are incredibly small - deceptively photographed with a very wide angle lens. Advertised as being 23 sqm but probably half that. Very strange location in the middle of an industrial waste land. Had to drive on a motorway to get to the nearest restaurant. We booked for two nights but left after 1. Avoid - there are much nicer rural places for the same price or less.
- Andrei (7/5): Strange place. Some things feels luxurious, some things are very cheap. - The building looks nice, garden and swimming pool too, you may take great photos, convenient location. There was no hot water in the evening during our stay, breakfast might’ve been better. quite expensive, you are expected to pay for tea in resting zone.
- Guy (9/5): Exceptional service and had a wonderful stay - The property is huge, with beautiful view, seemingly have certain historical vibe. I found a dead cockroach in the bathroom lol but everything else was fine
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Interesting for the architecture, not the location - Stunning old monastery converted to hotel. Nice big room. The location is a bit out of the way.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- J (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional place with a character. Stunning dinning room and breakfast area. Peaceful and green. Very helpful staff.
- Deborah (10/5): It was a beautiful experience to stay in this hotel/home we had a lovely warm welcome and we could kick off shoes an - This hotel is not your average hotel, it must be treated with respect it deserves, it is a family home and they are very hospitable. This hotel has remained in the same family since the 1700, it is beautiful. It is a gated oasis and it was a privilege to stay there. For anyone wishing to avoid the crowds and explore the island by hire car or cab, look no further The previous reviews because they did not do this beautiful place justice. It is not a modern hotel with every convenience. It is timeless oasis in this crazy world.
- Emilie (6/5): Nice but overpriced, you might get a bad room. - Charming place, nice old features and atmosphere in the communal area. Swimming pool area is beautiful. The bedroom. We were allocated a bedroom not in the old building but in the annex behind called “la casita”. The bedroom was quite depressing, at this price and for a “4 stars” hotel it was way below our expectations. It was not like on the pictures when booking the room and I honestly feel like these room should be put in an other category at a lower price. There was no mosquito net, no AC, no extract in the bathroom (bad damp smell, nothing drying) no fridge, everything was old and tacky. Stains on our bedsheets and towels. It would have been fine for under 100 euros / night maybe but not more.
I heard other guests complaining about being allocated these rooms (I think they have 4 in that annex). We asked to change room but it was fully booked, they changed us for the last night and it was better, just a shame it was for one night only.
The kitchen by the swimming pool made think of a camping vibe, where you had to pay for a coffee or tea. But it was useful as you have to buy food from the supermarket as there no restaurant in the hotel or close by. Overall I think it’s overpriced for what it is.
- Mamata (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ailsa (8/5): Lovely old Spanish building with character and breakfast was very great addition - Lovely old building with character- comfortable rooms, lovely pool and surrounding lounge area, great breakfast Wi-Fi signal was very poor
In the summer the lack of air conditioning may be a problem
You do need a car
- William (10/5): It’s an oasis of calm and history. - It is simply beautiful, historic, a lovely hotel You need a car to go to restaurants. However knowing that when we booked, this was a problem at all.
- Marko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julitta (7/5): Amazing place with history but its getting bit neglected - Beautiful building and garden You need a car to stay here, otherwise its 30min walk for the nearest bus stop
- Sebastien (6/5): Misleading. Not a 4 stars. - Nestled amongst the ruins of an abandoned golf course, surrounded by a glib landscape of construction sites, towerblocks, and , towards the sea, a large, big-box shopping complex served by a multi-lanes highway, El Cortijo appears as an uncertain oasis in an otherwise post apocalyptic setting.
The hotel compound is, by itself, a delight : a faded glory celebrating the architectural heritage of the island, replete with numerous historical features, lush greenery and a pleasant, leafy alley. The pool area is also particularly enjoyable, clean and well maintained.
And yet, an uneasy feeling soon sipped in. The rooms we were allocated are part of an adjacent building christened “la casita”, a converted dependence to the main building - think here service area rather than historical grandeur. Our rooms had the charm and matching size of those of a budget hotel, and none of the facilities one can reasonably expect of a four star accommodation. The furnishings are basic, with no double bed, an old tv with two channels, no air conditioning, and not even a extraction fan in the bathroom (a moist and musky smell thus lingers). There is also no room service, no telephone, no minibar, and not even a mosquito net on the sole window of the room - don t make the mistake of opening it at night.
Hotel wide, there are no restaurant, and no bar, saved for a bring-your-own, service kitchen next to the pool where guests can store their own food and drinks in a regular domestic fridge, and where a capsule of nespresso, kindly provided by the hotel, will set you aback 2.50 euros if you dare to make it yourself.
This all contribute to confere to El Cortijo the jolly ambience of a French camping municipal, where guests gleefully eat sandwiches by the pool, prepared from delicacies sourced from the local hiperdino.
Not that all of this matter to us in the slightest.
- Marisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jose (6/5): aceptable - La tranquilidad No minibar
- James (6/5): Pleasant - The hotel is a very unique oasis of Spanish colonial charm. It has a lovely garden and swimming pool. The rooms are a bit dated and there is no access to a bar or food. It was slightly overpriced given the lack of facilities. Staff were very good. The hotel has great potential but it is in an area with no restaurants within walking distance.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing staff
- Elaine (9/5): My own experience - The property has this old rich money vibe. The pool and the view is nice. Good for photoshoot. The garden is nice as well. The breakfast is average but the croissant is nice. The place is kinda secluded but if you need a taxi they will provide one for you. Not a walking distance to the main road. When we arrived at night, my boyfriend got scared because he saw the cross in the main gate. We opened the window at night and mosquitoes came in. It’s given since it’s a farm house but annoying so we closed it again.
- Ints (9/5): This hotel changed my opinion about rural hotels. - Very nice and cozy hotel with atmosphere from beginning of 20th century. Old family farm with authentic doors, inner yard, palm trees. Very nice pool area, where you can enjoy evening/night with wine or beer. During, hot days there is option that you have sunbath or stay in shade. Free car parking. The only thing that can be a minus, is that there is no public transport or to be precise its rather far from hotel.
- Martyna (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely swimming pool, so green and cosy place. The personnel really helpful and kind. The same breakfast every day (no variation)
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - The whole accommodation was perfect. Breakfast was delicious.
The staff was very polite. I like everything.
- Isabelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (7/5): Amazing house but really need a car - Nicely laid out breakfast, most of what anybody is likely to want provided Very isolated location, as no restaurant or meals offered very awkward for meals
- Virginia (8/5): close to airport, very quiet with nice unheated pool - lovely property
- Mivanova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hillar (7/5): Good -
