- Nicolas (5/5): Ras - La chambre Le service

- Obianuju (7/5): Good - The facilities are really nice. It was also a quiet weekend, so that was relaxing for us. It had a complementary boat ride we took to access the beach front - took a long walk on the beach, a playground that the children absolutely loved, and a nice pool. We had a slightly leaking faucet. The staff did not fix it but offered to move us to another room. The handles for the see-saw at the playground was off.
- Miriam (6/5): Nice place but terrible at communicating and very expensive food - The place is beautiful and the food was very tasty. Unfortunately, we had some major problems communicating with this hotel. We needed invitation letters for our visas and transportation from the airport. Both eventually worked out, after a week of silence and partial responses that left us anxious and made us almost miss our flight as the visa came in last minute due to the missing invitation letter.
While there, we tried to book a tour to see manatees, only to find out that those apparently had not been seen in decades once we were already on the boat. A little guidance would have been nice.
Lastly, while the food was good, it was quite overpriced and left us with terrible food poisoning, which we suffered from multiple days. For such a high price, one would expect better quality.
Also, mosquito nets over the beds are _really_ needed. Or at least sealed windows in the bathroom so they can't come in.
- Arnaud (7/5): Magnificent settings but bring your own mosquito net if you eant to sleep! - Le location was idyllic, the garden landscaping and rooms in the form of cute cottages with hatched roofs, the pool, all the views were great and the staff was very polite and kind. It looked lime paradise…at least during the day. The lack of mosquito equipment: not onlu was there no mosquito net or screens in the bedrooms but the was space under, above and all around the door and windows to welcome them into the bedrooms at night. Impossible to sleep for most in our group. And given the mosquito borne diseases around there, it is really disappointing.
- Alla (9/5): Superb -
- Monteiro (7/5): We stayed for one night and checked out to go to another hotel to eat and swim. - The place is clean and affordable. We got there around four pm and we were really hungry but they did not serve snacks and the kitchen was closed. The swimming pool is too small. If you are looking for a quiet place, and a place to read go there, otherwise you will be very bored. I will not be coming there with my kids as I didn't find it kids friendly. The room size and the price for the rooms.
- Christian (7/5): Good -
- Abo (10/5): Loved it thank you - Very nice and welcoming has good activities The food wasnt the best
- Kadiata (1/5): The reception staff screwed up my reservation for two rooms and I had to find accommodation elsewhere. Very upsetting ex - Dunno Dunno
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ebenhög (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice people, great location and easily accessible.
They were really friendly with accomodating us 1 bed more for a person in the room!
- Séduisant (9/5): Superb -
- David (7/5): Nice place to visit if one wants to get away for a peaceful and quiet few days - Very quick and peaceful location by the ocean. A short boat ride to the beach. Very friendly staff. Nice Charlet. Property was well maintained. Food was very good The bed was not very comfortable. There were zero hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. Not even a soap dish in the shower
- Alan (8/5): Fabulous ….. - So relaxed ….Staff were wonderful and friendly …Food was tasty …Beautiful location … Bit of a silly one but no English speaking channels on TV ….
- El (6/5): Pleasant - dinner and breakfast food should be better value for money
- Mhkebe (8/5): Very nice place for relax and break - Breakfast was good but can be improved.
No local fruits (mangoes, papaya, pineapple, etc.) The doors of the rooms opening on the terrasse have no locks. You might feel unsafe during the night.
- Bisila (6/5): I enjoyed the stay and the staff is wonderful - The best was friendly staff, the place is very Beautiful. Everyone was very professional and they make us feel very comfortable. It’s a great place. Food for lunch and dinner was also very good. The rooms need a bit refurbishment in the bathroom water run over the floor from the shower unless in room 3.
Not too many breakfast options available.
- Taanya (5/5): Satisfactory - Not satisfactory on 20th July. Was OK on 21st July The condition of Cottage 3 is not good. There is water leakage from the washroom and toilet.
- Diby (3/5): Poor -
- Alex (5/5): Passable - Great location and good accommodation I got a stomach bug after visiting. Met a colleague who had visited the same place and they both got a stomach bug too shortly after visiting. May not be them but it looks possible.
- Linn (10/5): Overall we had a very lovely stay. We really do recommend the hotel. - African Queen Lodge is one of the more serene and beautiful hotels we've been to in Assinie. The pool was a real highlight! The rooms were spacious and clean. The decor was beautiful. The restaurants staff were friendly and very accommodating. It exceeded our expectations. We had an issue with the reception staff when we were checking out. We were told that card payment was not possible and were recommended to go to the nearest ATM. We found out that the card machine issue was more an unwillingness to use the machine than it not working.
We were told the card payment was not working due to signal issues, but we had gotten no notice about this before our arrival. At the hotel there is even a sign that says you can pay with card, but we got no information upon check-in about card machine issues. As I am trying to find a working ATM (at the time the only working one was 42km away from the hotel), my husband called and told the other guests that were staying there as well managed to pay with card. The only thing was that when we asked, the staff wasn't willing to try the machine, but the other guests had insisted and so they called their manager who taught the staff how to use the machine. After talking to the other guests that we've gotten to know during our stay, they said there was quite an unwillingness from the receptionist to help and assist.
Due to this, I was on the road for an hour and half trying to get cash for a card machine that was working. When we complained to the reception staff about this, they got very defensive. We asked them to pay for the taxi ride I had taken, they were very reluctant to call their boss about it. The restaurant staff were the only ones that came and apologised, which annoyed me a lot since it wasn't their doing. We eventually got our money back for the taxi. That was the least that could have been done for the inconvenience. My recommendation for future travellers would be to bring cash to pay for your stay. And if they tell you that the card machine doesn't work, then ask them to try before you find other measures.
We had a lovely stay, but were of course just a bit disappointed with our last interaction with the reception.
- Hanaa (7/5): Good -
- Sam (8/5): Wonderful stay at African Queen Lodge. - The location was excellent and facilities very well laid out. Really enjoyed our stay. Would have been appropriate to have had some shampoo and body lotions in our shower available when we arrived. Most places provide so we did not bring any. Also food was very expensive, but understand you must bring everything in from a distance.
- Sadozua (10/5): I had a very peaceful stay, the room, staff and atmosphere was amazing. - very lovely and cozy room with lake view.
- Agnes (7/5): Mixed! - Rooms were comfortable and clean, would benefit from a mini-bar and wifi (there is wifi in the restaurant), otherwise great. Also enjoyed the pool. Some staff were very helpful.
One person in our group left her phone at the reception upon check out and the hotel made sure they got a taxi driver to pick it up and bring it to us at the airport (a 2 hour drive). This was exceptional. Some staff were not helpful (ie, one person who did not want to being our breakfast outside because he would have to carry a lot of things.
The motorized boat that is supposed to take you for free to the beach across the lagoon did not work for us and almost capsized so we were too scared to try again. Hotel definitely needs a newer boat or to partner with another person/facility to ensure guests can get to the beach.
- Rammohan (8/5): Very good -
- Mahdi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alexandre (8/5): Very good -
- Omagano (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were very kind, friendly and considerate. We were allowed to check in before check in time because we arrived earlier than expected. There was a boat available during the day to take us to the beach and the food was really good.
- Juliane (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice place, confortable. Relaxing Kinda expensive food, but normal prices compared to the other fancy restaurants next to it.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jorge (9/5): Superb -
- Sian (8/5): Very good - Location is great, staff very helpful. Peaceful stay and comfortable, clean room - great views! Would be nice to have a kettle in the room
- Caner (7/5): Good -
- Nasiegh (7/5): Good -
- Sophie (4/5): Finally I sent only one night and change for - Breakfast was good Too many mousquetons
Cleanliness of sheet
Windows and Doors did not close properly
- Fabrice (10/5): The number one friendliest hotel in Assinie. - African Queen Lodge was the third option if not the fourth of that list and turned out to be the best place I’ve stayed in a very long time. The environnement is clean, quiet, and serene, which was what I was looking for. The food was excellent. Staff were friendly and we kinda bonded although my family and I only spent two nights there. I definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go back. I wished we had more time to enjoy water activities like kayaking and more. They have a few boats on-site. But staff shared more could be done (jet ski etc.) from their second facility (Coucoue Lodge) which is a few miles away.
- Gilles (8/5): Nice place, nice breakfast, quite place. - Very nice place. Staff are good. Too much mosquito in the room. Couldn't sleep well during my first night.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - The food was exquisite as well as the cocktails .
Rooms are clean and well furnished but need hangers for the towels in the bathroom. Canal + tv's subscription lacks of interesting chanels.
- Karim (7/5): Good -
- Mecl87 (8/5): Room for improvement - The location is great; quiet and very relaxing. Their bank card machine didn't work and we had to find an ATM to withdraw cash and pay our stay.
No fridge in the room.
- Laurent (5/5): Passable - I liked the outdoor activities and the possibility of crossing the river to join the seaside No WiFi and no interphone in the room
- Martin (8/5): very relaxing, good food and staff attentive - quiet, comfortable, nice location by the lagoon and within nice green area, nice pool, ideal for short stay no mosquito screens
- Aminata (8/5): overall stay was great! - property was clean, staff was very friendly no internet at all in the suite. had to go to restaurant for
internet connection
- Marie-france (10/5): Will return! - Location, cleanliness, view, intimacy, privacy, dog friendly
- Noj85 (6/5): Nice place - Pool area was nice, rooms were beautifully decorated. As non-French speakers, communication was difficult, but staff were happy to use google translate. Quality and quantity of the food was inconsistent. Not much choice for vegetarians.
- Lashley (8/5): it was a beautiful relaxing location - The staff was willing to translate to english and were very helpful There were bugs in the room and the water had a strange scent from the pipe
- Yao (8/5): it was cool - Easy to access and proximity with the laguna no wifi.
- Olivier (8/5): Very good - Fair price, good restaurant pro services
