Guest Reviews
- Manfred (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Liked the closeness to the river and bush. Easy access to walking trails. The garden furniture was uncomfortable.
- Al (9/5): Cosy woodland cottage - Proximity to the forest walks.well set up for children.lots to do locally.good for cooking plenty of equipment.nice cosy log fire. Need doormats.room closest to the front of house door frame has sw e lled makes a horrible screeching noise when you try to close
- Mel (6/5): Pleasant - We liked the large grass backyard and was close to Blackwood River. Having to provide our credit card details with Geographe Holidays Homes to be stored in their system, even though we booked and prepaid on booking.com, the endless emails and text messages before even getting to the cottage - was over the top! The cottage was tired, there was a centipede invasion which we told reported but no bug spray was delivered as promised. One of the beds did not have the sheets replaced before we arrived and we found hair throughout the bed. We wanted to take our dog as the cottage was listed as 'pet friendly' but were told there would be an additional fee to clean. Not customer focused at all.
- Alannah (10/5): Excellent - I enjoyed the good quality from kitchen utensils to bedding. Everything was catered for and we didn't need to think of a thing. Very cozy and comfortable.
- Peter (8/5): A very happy two days. - Not sure why we needed to receive 23 emails in connection with this one booking. Felt bombarded by all the emails from the hosts and Geograph Holiday Homes.
- Puripast (5/5): Hope the key in the lockbox is the right one, ours wasnt - Quiet, clean and spacious. Lived up to our expectation. Big back garden, close to the river, nice dog exercise trail near by Unfortunately our check in experience was a disaster. Having travelled all the way from the Pilbara, the last thing that we need was to get stuck outside with the mosquitoes. Wrong key was in the lockbox (key to the bike padlock instead of the house key). Both local and overseas call centres were argumentative, saying apparently the cleaner was there earlier and there was no problem. Someone turned up 40mins later to let us in and handed us the right keys.
- Ian (10/5): Rose Cottage was a nice place to stay in the country. Very relaxing. - We booked the Rose Cottage for a 4-night long weekend to attend the festival and for my partner's market stall. Rose Cottage is access via a key safe and the property was clean, well furnished, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates etc. There was a generous amount of tea, coffee, etc. in the cupboard. The two main bedrooms have comfortable beds and portable Dyson air-blades heated the rooms well. The main air-con unit was capable of heating the main area. There is a double garage operated by remote control which was handy because of the weather. The location is good as a base for the surrounding area. There were plenty of kangaroos around and it is very quiet. The internet is good and I could stream the premiership football and project onto the Smart TV. There is a wood burning stove but we didn't need to use it. The utility room has washing machine and dryer which came in handy because of the weather. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet and sink. Water pressure and hot water were fine. The 3rd bedroom had a single and a bunk bed, so you could have 2 couples and 3 kids easily stay. There is also a BBQ, but we had rotten weather and didn't get to use it.
I'd definitely stay here again. Rose Cottage is situated away from the main street, so its a 15-20 minute walk into town (the upside of this is the more peaceful location). In order to get the code for the key safe, I needed to pop into the office in Busselton to provide my ID (as I didn't want to share photocopies of my passport and credit card). This is probably standard these days. There was only 1 key so we had to coordinate our movements or keep putting the one key back into the key safe. The price was reasonable for 2 adults (a little more that I've paid to stay elsewhere in the area), but would be more value-for-money for a larger group.
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped, good coffee, nice products.
- Carle (2/5): Would not recommend, property had a gas leak on arrival and was poorly cleaned. Volume of useless email communication fr - Would not recommend, property had a gas leak on arrival and was poorly cleaned. Volume of useless email communication from property managers excessive and when trying to resolve the gas leak was only able to speak to an overseas switchboard who wouldn’t provide local contact details, they need to do better than this. - Wendy (9/5): Superb - The house had plenty of Room for a family or group of people. It was well kitted out with everything we needed in the kitchen.
Was aircondioned and also had ceiling fans We travelled as 3 adults The 3rd bedroom was a single bed and bunk which is fine for kids but not for an adult as the mattress was very springy. Also the internet and nbn box were in there on the wall which flashed all night right near the head of the bed which I found to be very irritating and distracting.
- Piero (7/5): It was good for our needs and was priced well - Central to all the places in the South West we wanted to explore Pemberton, Bridgetown, Manjimup and Busselton. It was in a nice quiet location in the town. Did not look or feel overly clean overall but ok eg laundry sink, one of inside bin not cleaned properly as residue on bottom after bag removed but not from that bag leaking. and a few other little thing also booking was an issue as their system was not working properly at the time so created a bit of stress
- Res (7/5): Good -
- Damien (7/5): Good - Location and presentation No salt and pepper.
