Grippé, l’un d’entre nous a du rester prendre un peu de repos et Jeannette a su le remettre sur pied à coup de recettes locales. Merci beaucoup.

• AMIRA A.A (7/5): بيت ضيافة هادىء و دافىء - كانت أول تجربة لي في السكن في إحدى بيوت الضيافة. وأحببت تجربة بيوت الضيافة ، كانت المضيفة لطيفة للغاية ومتعاونة تماماً وربما كانت هي أجمل ما في هذه التجربة وكان الإفطار لذيذ للغاية. كان المنزل دافىء ومضياف للغاية ، أمضيت فيه ليلتي وغادرت في الصباح ، موقع منزل الضيافة بعيد نوعاً ما عن وسط المدينة. أنصح بإستخدام تطبيق التوصيل الخاص بإثيوبيا لتسهيل جميع تنقلاتك أثناء الإقامة في العاصمة أديس آبابا. كان حجزي يشمل غرفة "جناح" ، تفاجئت تماماً بعرض المضيفة لغرفة من نوع "قياسية" لدى وصولي. رغم فرق السعر الكبير. لم أقبل ذلك وحصلت على غرفة من نوع "جناح" كانت جيدة نوعاً ما ، إلا إن الحمام كان يفتقر للصيانة. لم أستطع إستخدامه ، وكان المبلغ المدفوع مقابل الغرفة مرتفع بعض الشيء.
• sukumaran (8/5): Amazing - We enjoyed staying in this pleasant beautifully decorated house with the lovely host Genet and her 4 puppies. She was very warm ,welcoming and treated us like a member of the family. Genet was very efficient and organised and updated us regularly before our arrival. She arranged safe transport for us ,gave us very useful tips and reccomeded lovely places to dine at. Every day she prepared amazing traditional breakfast dishes and before we left even gave us her own home made berber and another special powder. Loved staying here and will always remember Genet Wifi could have been better

• Jack (10/5): Wonderful stay in Addis Ababa. - My daughter and I spent 3 nights at the Kefetew Guest House during our trip to Ethiopia. The house itself was so comfortable it felt like home. The breakfast provided was wonderful. But the best part of our stay was the hospitality of Genet Ketefew, the owner. We had a friend visit on our last day, and Genet asked us to stay for lunch. We had a wonderful meal and conversation. It was special. Thank you, Genet. I highly recommend.

• Matthew (8/5): An Ideal Guest House in the Addis Ababa suburbs - Wonderful host and home. In a quiet (for Addis) suburb. Perfect breakfast and hospitality. Elegant traditional sitting room with lovely books. Kindness all around the house. Only 12 minutes (no traffic) from the airport (but well east). Keep in mind that it's a 25 minute Ride (local Uber) into the downtown of Addis, and that's your lifeline in getting around the sprawling city. Not that hard to manage, but takes some patience.

• Ryszard (10/5): An amazing lady. A wonderful stay. Great base to explore. - We can't express enough how wonderful it was to stay with Genet and her doggies.! She welcomed us with open arms and it was great to come "home" ( because that what it feels like ) after a busy day exploring Addis. Breakfast was different everyday and we looked forward to chatting with Genet in the mornings over coffee. She was brilliant in helping us with getting in touch with the right people in order to explore this amazing country and we whole heartedly thank her for being there for us when our flight was cancelled last minute and we had to return for one more night. The area is safe and has everything you need close by. The room we had was huge and comfortable with an excellent mattress. It was with tears in our eyes when we finally left and we hope to meet her again one day.

She really takes the role of host seriously and did everything she could to help make our first trip to Addis amazing. Breakfasts were all amazing and she also recommended some wonderful local restaurants. She's the best! Location takes a little longer to get to during rush hour traffic.

• Aminata (10/5): A lovely stay at Kefetew Guest House! - Kefetew Guesthouse is a soulful place. Beyond all my expectations! Genet, our hostess, is full of heart and a wonderful cook. I arrived tired, dehydrated, and with a cold, I left healed and invigorated. The place itself is a safe haven, away from the hustle and bustle of the outside, yet conveniently located next to a food stall, multiple restaurants and the supermarket. The decor is rustic in the best of sense, the bed is incredibly comfy, the shower is hot and the hospitality exceptional and unmatched! Many guests are return guests and I understand why. A very homey stay, like visiting family. I hope to be back.

• Lorenzo (9/5): Superb - The owner of the place is a nice lady and very fun to chat with. The breakfast is included in the price and delicious. We had a large bedroom that had a little living room attached. Overall, you get very good value for the price. We had only a key for our room and no key for the main gate. We always had to call to get in which worked out well, but I would feel bad arriving late night when the owner is already asleep.

She arranged the sightseeing for us and gave instructions to our nice and humorous guide Mesay. As we visited the beautiful religious festival Meskel, she checked with him if everything went well. With Martha, her help, she prepared the most delicious breakfasts, even when we had an early flight. Her dogs are so funny and are always with her. We were lucky we could sit with Genet at the rooftop terrace of her beautiful decorated house, where she told us about her life. Our bedroom and private bathroom were spacey and clean. If you visit Addis, don’t look any further, book at Kefetew guesthouse! We liked everything.

Nothing that the guest lady could change or improve!

• Felix (9/5): Superb - We stayed at Kefetew Guest House as part of our vacation in Addis and had a great and memorable time. The owner lovingly takes care of her guests and is also a great cook. Since she knew I was from Germany and liked potatoes, there were potato dishes every day that were so deliciously prepared and seasoned that I liked them better than many places in Germany. The hostess is also very entertaining and helpful. She has experienced a lot and likes to tell about her life, always with a laugh. When I got stomach problems on the second day due to the change of food, she took loving care of me. She brought fresh fruit and baked light meals for my recovery. The amenities at Kefetew Guest House also include five dogs (love to Desta!) who always provide the best entertainment. We even had the honor of taking an excursion by car through Addis in animal company. Last but not least, the hostess showed us many things in Addis that we would not have discovered without her and had even more recommendations for us, e.g. which museums are worth seeing and where we can get good souvenirs. She made our vacation an unforgettable experience and we would choose Kefetew Guest House again anytime. It made our vacation a very personal and social experience, which we certainly would not have had in a hotel in this form. During our stay, there were intermittent problems with the hot water. However, the bathrooms are being renovated anyway and this is probably a problem of the past.
• Soniazimmermann (10/5): VIP welcome from the heart in Addis Abiba - Genet, the lady of the house, has been a pleasure to meet and chat with. Lovely to chat about her time in the north of San Francisco whilst at Berkeley, her many travels and her life in Ethiopia, her original and her current home. Her cooking skills are exceptional, her breakfast generosity out of this world and her home so beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. I feel very privileged to have stayed there rather than in an impersonal hotel that often has a nice lobby and smelly rooms with rough beds! I feel I not only had a lovely place at which to stay with a comfy bed but I gained a new friend, too. Highly recommending Kefetew Guesthouse. ❤️

• Jess (10/5): Exceptional - I dont often submit a review but Genets Guesthouse is something very autentic and special. The house is amazing as described in other reviews, you feel like you are family not a visitor. I came back to The place at a later stage and not at any stage did I have the feeling, that i was received because of Tourist money. Genet has lived in California many years, she has lots of local contacts, while i was there. I will come back asap when staying in Addis on My next trip, Ethiopia is fantastic and Genet made me have the best start possible.
