Guest Reviews
- Véronique (8/5): Séjour détente à la dominique - Environnement calme parfait pour le repos et la détente. Vue mer avec magnifique coucher de soleil . Dommage qu'il n'y ai pas plus de choix au restaurant le soir .
- Bernie on the Road (9/5): Absolute Empfehlung - Super Lage, gutes Essen. Schöner Pool in tollem Garten und vielen Liegen. Nichts
- Kjell (10/5): - Very nice hotel Not very good food
- Anna (8/5): - Lovely view Would have loved a bird feeder to see the humming birds
- Astrid Michaela (8/5): - Alles Restaurant könnte vielseitiger sein
- Barbara (5/5): Good location and rooms, very very very poor meals and accessibility - Love the location, though the access road to the hotel is very steep for those not use to hiking and with mobility impairement
We had all our rooms on one level
Kitchen facilities in the room was good, kettle microwave fridge.
Ensuite bathroom facilities were good
Nice little pool side to catch the rays and sun down views. Beautiful view of the caribbean sea and Salisbury village at night
The kitchen staff Awonna and Janelle are always pleasant, every morning, and accommodated us as best they can.
Domestic staff, Lena and crew, so trusting and respectful. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Owners Annette and ?? were pleasant, visable and welcoming. I know why they are in Dominica but there's much more to learn from us Dominicans rather than to take from us. Our culture and tradtions are not optional but a way of life and our generosity cost little.
Your worldwide guests stays would be a much richer experience with some Dominican culture, tradtions and food included in the price!!! Access to the rooms is under and inbetween a strangely placed metal stair case and down uneven levels of ground. We had a 90year old person and a visually impaired person who needed assistance in and out every time. The hotel is not set up for physically impaired persons even wheel chair access is challenging with steep pathways. Can I suggest a buggy/ cart to take guest up and down the access road!
Breakfast, complimentary or not, was very, very, very poor. The options was nil! It was fruit, mainly pieces of pineapple, melon and papaya- we were lucky to get a slice passion fruit one day- museli, cold meat, cheese, bread and eggs 4 ways, fry, scambled, boiled or omlete, cluck! cluck!..The local staff tried to accommodate our local palette but I sensed this was not approved by the owners. Such a shame to be in a country where natural and nutritional produce is readily available but not utilised for guest. I may as well have travelled and stayed in Europe!
The bar is for display only it seems. Unless dinner is prebooked..(again one dish only and sorry vegans and vegetarians you don't matter!).. evenings meals, drinks and entertainment is 'fend for yourself'. Good job my family are nearby and we are resourceful.
For my firstime doing a hotel stay in Dominica, overall I dont feel we got value for money so unlikely to return to the Tamarind Tree again.
- Norbert (8/5): Guter Ausgangspunkt um die Insel zu erkunden - Familiäre Atmosphäre, tolle Tipps für Ausflüge durch die Inhaber. Bester Blick auf die Sonnenuntergänge.
- Ralph (9/5): Superb -
- Nancy (9/5): A peaceful retreat with great sea views and lovely swimming pool. - Wonderful, helpful staff, very good local cuisine meals, beautiful pool , lovely garden and ocean views. Great location..close to Mero beach. Nothing
- Famillebf (6/5): Pleasant - Quite simple but nice. The dinner can be improved.
- Alysha (7/5): Good -
- Paula (7/5): The property has a relaxing atmosphere, it's a good place to have a get away. - A variety of fruit was served every morning. The same things were served for breakfast every day, more variety needed. Could include local dishes into breakfast.
- Jennifer (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful stay, located near Mero beach. - We loved the quietness of this location. The gardens around the property were pretty and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful every morning with a kind attentive staff. Views of the sea 😍. Perfect dinner at the restaurant one evening - the chef is talented! We loved it! No issues
- Judith (8/5): An intimate hotel with a glorious view, - The continental breakfast was adequate but limited if you don't eat, meat or cheese or eggs!
The evening meals were nice but the restaurant lacked atmosphere such as background music.
The view was amazing , you can watch the sun set every evening.
The rooms were comfortable and included a fridge which was an added bonus.
The hotel is just off the main road between Portsmouth and Roseau. A remote location, be prepared to wait a while for a bus into Portsmouth, Roseau or Mero beach if you don't have your own transport.
There isn't a lot in the Salisbury area however we found a few local bars in the village and enjoyed chatting with some of the local people there.
The restaurant had limited opening during our stay (just evenings) due to staff shortages and had a set meal each evening.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Very relaxing and laid back. Staff and Owners were Fantastic and accommodating!! Non Smoking rooms Great, but smokers on the balcony were annoying
- Glasgow (5/5): Unsatisfied - Very Friendly Staff Bathroom floor gets flooded/wet after every use.
Face basin/sink needs repair, water drips while in use.
Toilet didn't flush all the time.
