Everything is a short walk and the pool and yoga shala are great places to hangout and enjoy your time. Logan was incredibly welcoming and helpful. That we didn’t stay longer (not the property’s fault)
William (7/5): Regular - Las áreas comunes están muy bien, las piscinas limpias y en buen funcionamiento, un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo, que se presta para la relajación y el descanso. Al reservar no sabía q era un bus camperizado, y en realidad eso no está del todo mal, el bus esta equipado, tiene buen A/C, cocina completa, etc. El gran “pero” es la ducha y el inodoro, es sumamente pequeño e incomodisimo, yo mido 1,78 mts y poder sentarse en ese inodoro era un ejercicio de contorsionista, la ducha sumamente pequeña, no se puede uno ni agachar, si acaso se podía subir los codos del poquísimo espacio disponible. La cama “principal” es una colchoneta ubicada es un espacio de difícil acceso, no tenía luz, le pedi al host q arreglara la luz, me dijo q claro, pero nunca llego.
Tatiana (7/5): Lindo lugar - Muy bonito y seguro, muy buena piscina habitaciones cómodas y muy bien equipadas. La respuesta de los hosts fue muy lenta ante las solicitudes o consultas. Una de las habitaciones tenía insectos no agradables.
Annastasia (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful, dreamy ❤️ - Beautiful, quiet, great facilities and the kitchenette had everything I needed. The bed was really comfy and being able to get Netflix was a great bonus as a solo traveller. The ice bath was AMAZING and the pool was stunning!! The hosts were so nice, had a great variety of classes in the yoga shala (additional cost) a few food places that deliver (take cash if you don’t have a car like me) a shop within walking distance which stocked most things you would need, walking distance to the beach and driving distance to some great towns, beaches and restaurants. I felt really safe, comfortable and at home here. It was a wonderful stay and a lucky find! My room was quite dark inside in the daytime which I know is probably on purpose to keep it cool but I was doing a working retreat and was hoping for a bright / well lit space. Definitely more of a me problem 😂! Could maybe do with some more sun loungers around the pool - there was only once during my stay that they were in use when I wanted to use them but if you were hiring the space as a retreat centre and gave everyone some downtime it would maybe be an issue.
Andres (10/5): I definitely recommend Balu Retreat! - It is a magical space with a beautiful pool. You can also explore a trail within the private property, a supermarket next door, and a few restaurants within walking distance. The owners take care of you and are very responsive. You can also take yoga classes in a shala on your own, book massages in your room, or just chill and enjoy the brand new facilities. Everything was perfect!
Crystal (9/5): Superb - The grounds are beautiful and our kids loved the pool area. They had great coffee available to guests and Logan was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we would have changed is to have a softer bed.

Ryan (10/5): Amazing!!! - Quiet, comfy and great location Everything was absolutely great except they did not Honor the booking.com pricing we were supposed to be paying. We ended up paying a little more but at the end of the day was absolutely worth it and would go back again anytime!!

Katerina (8/5): Relaxing in the sun! - Balu was a really nice place to stay and the hosts are such nice people. They ask daily if there’s anything you need. Always have a chat with them as they work around the property. Emails did not come thru in Costa Rica so any accommodation emails were not received. Road signs & roads are not great. Food is horribly expensive.

Trent (10/5): Very good experience! - The location is great, it's an easy drive to the many beaches around town. The space is nice and it's very clean. The bed is huge and the kitchen area is workable to make meals. Also the general space is really nice and comfortable and the coffee machine is a real plus. We had kind of an emergency change of plans and Logan was able to get the room cleaned to accommodate our last minute stay and I couldn't been happier that we ended up there. 11/10 would definitely stay again. Depending on how much you want to cook there, it's all one room and there's no table. So it's all kind of in one space. Not really a problem, it's just the layout and i guess consider that if it's really important to you.
