Guest Reviews
- Anne (10/5): Lovely property, lovely hosts, lovely town. - Your host Marco is Dutch, his wife is Swedish and it shows in the style and flair they’ve deployed in this house. It is, indeed, a house on three floors, including a super roof terrace which provides a wonderful view across the edge of town and far into the distance. Wonderful in the evening. It’s very well equipped, the attention to detail is excellent. Comfortable, cosy and very quirky. Lots of easy parking nearby and close to bars, shops and restaurants. The only observation we would make is, as one or two others have commented, if you’re young and fit with good mobility it’s ideal, if, however, like us (my husband is the wrong side of 70 with a problematic knee) it’s perhaps less so. Yes, we would come back but be aware that the walk up to the property from the car park is perhaps 100 to 150 yds or so and quite steep. The house itself has two fairly steep staircases, one to get to the roof terrace. Certainly not dangerous but if you have reduced mobility, it’s perhaps worth considering. Nothing, even the access issue didn’t put us off.
- John (10/5): Enjoyable and authentic experience of living in a pueblo blanco! - Sympathetically refurbished, clean and very well-appointed/well organised traditional terraced property located in the lower reaches of Olvera old town. Marco, the host, welcomed me at the property and provided helpful recommendations on local restaurants, supermarkets and car parking (easily accessible free car parking bays are conveniently located in Calle Vereda Ancha within 5 minutes' walk of the property). Bathroom comprised an excellent walk in shower and elegant, contemporary sanitary ware. Very comfortable bed. Good flat screen TV with Spanish channels; Netflix is included in the room rate. As I'd booked the property for 5 days and was in need of fresh clothes, the washing machine proved to be a bonus. A particularly appealing feature of the property for me was the roof terrace/solarium which affords impressive panoramic views of the surrounding countryside as well as being a great place to relax - and ideal for drying clothes quickly! All good!
- Anne (9/5): Cute and comfy self catering apartment - Everything you need and MORE from a base tho explore Andalusia. It's cozy, super clean and the roof terras is prefect for breakfast. The host is welcoming and helpful. For us all was absolutely great.
For people who have mobility issues it might not be ideal; steps and incline to get to the house (car can't reach the street) and stairs to reach bedroom and further stairs to reach roof terras (duh)...
