• Tesantha (7/5): It was good but could have been better had the glitches not occurred and Nigel not overcharging. - Kabakwe Lodge is very neat and comfortable, however there were a few glitches with some managed and another not. Thandie and the other front desk staff were extremely helpful, approachable and kind. Thandie went above and beyond to assist us with planning all of the activities and ensuring everything went according to plan. The dinner chef on Sunday, 15 June delivered tasty meals. The accomodation was mostly quiet, although there was a lot of loud music on Saturday night. The place is central and mostly peaceful. Room 1 door did not lock on the first day, and had to be fixed, however the cleaner left the room unlocked on Sunday meaning all of our valuables were exposed, so when we got back late that evening a key was not required. Room 2 had no hot water on Saturday night and Sunday morning and then again on Monday morning. Considering how cold it gets in the morning and evenings, this was not ideal. For that price one would expect the basics like hot water to be available. If you're vegetarian, options at breakfast are non existent on the menu. The chef did try to accomodate us however it was basic. The taxi company Emmanuel's taxis was mostly good however on the last day the driver Nigel overcharged. $20 return trip with 3% charge for using a card machine should have not been $25. His dishonesty obviously tainted the experience which isn't a good reflection on the company. The majority of staff and drivers were kind, humble, honest and friendly until Nigel pulled that stunt. So be cautious when paying directly. I suggest arranging everything through the hotel.

• Dalene (9/5): - We stayed at Kabakwe for a week over December/ January and will definitely be back. The staff are really welcoming and helpful. The garden and pool area are beautiful and well maintained, and the rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. The lodge is conveniently located a few minutes away (by car) from the town centre. We loved our time here. The geysers are solar powered so our showers were often lukewarm in the evenings (not really a problem in the heat).

The room was very quiet which was very important to me because I am a light sleeper. Having the fan was excellent for circulating the air and providing white noise as well as the air conditioner. The mosquito nets around the bed were also important to us when we chose the lodge. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast options were very good. Breakfast was served promptly and the coffee ( very important to me) was easily available. Dinner was very good too. I would have liked a few more dinner options.

• Dave (4/5): Not worth it!!! - The hotel's communication before and during the stay was excellent. They responded to questions very quickly. Some of the staff members (the night guard and one the server who worked the breakfast shift). 1. Mosquitos: the room was filled with mosquitos when we checked in. Unfortunately, the hotel has a practice of keeping doors and windows open prior to check in. This invites critters and mosquitos into the room. There were so many in the room, we spent hours trying to swat them away. We told one of the staff about it and the need to keep windows closed and she shrugged it off. No care! 2. The gentleman working the bar is very icy and does not speak. We asked for a drink menu and he looked annoyed. This hotel is remote so if you wanted water or ice, you had to go to the bar and deal with his terrible attitude. He worked the evening of Aug 31 and he was at his worse that day. Shouldn't they be happy to get business? We were the only people at the bar area. 3. Hotel is supposed to be new, but the rooms look much better in pictures than in person. Rooms already has chipped paint and stains. No fridge; safety deposit box didn't work. Overall, I was very disappointed that I chose this place. Maybe my I'm unrealistic because the other reviews are favorable.

• Ashton (10/5): - This is lovely family run lodge that is located in a very quiet newer area of Victoria Falls. I found my room, the lodge, pool area, dining area tastefully decorated and comfortable. Tariro in Reservations did a terrific job organizing and booking a variety of activities for me during my stay. Tariro actually designed my entire itinerary for me before I arrived. The lodge also had a variety of tasty breakfast options though some of my morning activities included breakfast. The lodge was also great about coordinating all transportation for me!

• Gretchen (10/5): Darling Little Guest Lodge at Vic Falls - We absolutely loved our stay at Kabakwe Guest Lodge. Our beds and bed linens were top notch. The pool and pool bar were among our favorite places to spend time outside of our busy touring schedule. Breakfast was fast and covered both continental breakfasters and full English enthusiasts among my gang of friends. I cannot say enough good things about our stay! I loved ho0w small the lodge was and how much communal space there was, under a lovely canopy of trees.

• david (10/5): Wonderful quaint guest lodge in Vic Falls - beautiful property, spacious rooms, lovely staff! - Kabakwe is a great lodge for a stay in the Vic Falls area; the staff is wonderful - very helpful and friendly! The property is clean, quiet, very nice and comfortable. The common areas are also great, breakfast was great and having other meals available on site is a plus. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed could have been a touch softer, a more plush mattress would have been great. The location could be better for getting in and out of town (not an issue of safety at all, just not walkable, cabs are required)

• Haughey (9/5): Quiet oasis for bird watching and escape within 8-10 min drive to Vic Falls! - This is a new, family-owned and operated property which was well-appointed and best of all, quiet. The owners designed the property with bird lovers in mind, and there were plenty of them to see. If you'd like to binge-watch the latest Netflix, bring your computer or tablet, because there was no TV in our room...which I personally liked. I brought my 6 yo son with me, and while the property isn't really tailored for kids, we had a great time playing games, hung out by the pool, and spent time genuinely enjoying each other's company. The staff were fabulous and helped book wonderful excursions like a sunset dinner boat cruise (with Pure Africa). I was able to contact them ahead of our trip and put in food requests for my very picky son.

Ideal location- close to the Zambia border and the Zambezi river and an hour from Botswana. The breakfasts and dinners were also really yummy!! I would go back in a heartbeat !

Best of all, the location is super convenient just a 5–10 minute taxi to Victoria Falls Rainforest, close to shops and restaurants. Overall, it felt warm and inviting throughout the entire stay.
