Guest Reviews
- Ewelina (8/5): - Location, space, artificial fireplace, kitchen facilities, living room seating. Wifi seem to only work for one device at a time.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Ellen (10/5): Very cosy, close to the city, everything you need to a York city break! - Well appointed flat, very close to the city. Milk, biscuits, tea and coffee left for our arrival. Helpful owner who was happy to answer our questions. Nothing
- Peter John (10/5): Amazing property. Very comfortable and amazing location. - Location was ideal. Just stepped outside and we were right in the centre of York. Parking. But host let us park at her other property which was a 5min walk away which was very kind of her. Thank you.
- Beth (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Absolutely perfect! - The location was perfect. The property was lovely! Exactly what we needed. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.
- Victoria (8/5): Lovely accommodation in perfect location - Fantastic location within a minute of the centre. Spacious living area. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely decor. Great communication from the host who allowed an early check in and late check out. We struggled with the WiFi for the whole time, although we didn’t contact the host as we just assumed this was how it was, but on reflection we probably should’ve checked this out with her
- Jenna (7/5): - Good location. The noise from the property above.
- Marcia (10/5): Had a great time with friends, the location of the property was ideal - The property was in a great location. Lots of lovely restaurants on the doorstop, not far to walk to the main attractions. The property was clean and well maintained.
- Jason (10/5): -
- Michelle (1/5): The host is watching you !!! - Good location We booked the apartment for 5 nights 27th Dec to the 1st Jan at a cost of £680.
On arrival it was very difficult to stop anywhere to unload luggage as its on a busy main road and there is no parking which we were aware of but didn't realise that it would be so difficult to even stop to unload. We then drove to a driveway we had rented and walked the 20 mins back as this was the nearest parking at a reasonable cost of £45 for the 5 days.
We settled in and the apartment was comfortable enough. The internet connection was poor which meant we had no phone signal and even the TV in the apartment that had netflix was difficult to watch as the signal was not good enough. We thought it was a little strange as there was no router it seemed that the Internet was running off a TP link from another apartment.
Our first night was difficult as my husband had had unexpected shoulder surgery and the double bed was uncomfortable for him. There is a sofa bed in the living room ( not the one pictured on the apartments pictures ) so we pulled this out , basically the back rest goes down so that it makes a large flat area and there are arm rest cushions . My husband propped himself up there to try and get some sleep and used a blanket off the main bed.
In the morning I went to have a shower. After only a couple of minutes the water was flooding out into the bathroom as its a wet room type shower. I couldn't wash my hair I literally had to get out as water was everywhere.
I messaged Janet the host and she replied promptly asking me to use a knife from the kitchen to lift the shower grate to see if it was blocked. I did this and replied as the drain was totally blocked with long hair etc.... pretty disgusting...I said that she would need to come and look herself to sort this and that we were going out for a walk.
There was a lot of water on the floor as it would not go down the drain hole. My husband couldn't get a shower .
- Julia (10/5): Christmas trip to York - Perfect location, close to all York attractions.
Plenty of cafes, restaurants and takeaways nearby.
The apartment is so cosy and comfortable with great facilities.
Milk & biscuits provided by the host was really appreciated, and the Christmas tree was a lovely bonus 🎄
The host was very responsive & helpful.
Would definitely recommend & hope to return- best place to stay in York ! Nothing, everything was just right.

- Vicky (10/5): - Brilliant apartment and a great location with everything you need. Comfy beds and extra pillows, modern and would highly recommend.
- Maud (10/5): Comfy and cozy - We stayed here for three nights and it was wonderful. It has everything you need. I mean literally everything. Kitchen is superb. And we really enjoy the Netflix film after dinner at home. Thank you so much.
- Annie (8/5): -
- Lesley (3/5): Location great but sleeping and showering impossible - Location was fab Sofa bed was very uncomfortable with slats and very thin foam ‘mattress’, sofa chair was hard as wood with no mattress and not suitable for an adult to sleep in as too narrow.
Bathroom was a wet room which flooded and didn’t drain so floor was soaking wet all day. Ended up finding a mop and bucket to remove some of the water. Loose floor tile added to problem as every time stood on it more water squirted out. Tile by loo so unavoidable.
- Rachel (10/5): Amazing! - Everything! Perfect location, very clean and modern and amazing value for money. Nothing at all.
- Jackie (10/5): -
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Location, spacious, comfortable, good communication. No parking at location however Janet sorted alternative. Bathroom quite small. No freezer.
- Julie (10/5): Our stay at Minster Bells Suite was Excepional. We would recommend this Suite. - Everything was exceptional. I will definitely recommend this Suite. All amenities were nearby. The suite was clean and comfortable. A lovely big TV with Apps and WIFI which is a big bonus! A lovely treat of biscuits tea milk and coffee there for us. The owners went over and above for us so we could park our car nearby. We liked everything.
- Molly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, excellent facilities, great communication/help
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely apartment situated close to the centre absolutely fantastic - It had everything to cater for how needs, modern comfortable, spotlessly clean it exceeded our expectations by far, everything was high tech and easy to use, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was fantastic high pressure, I couldn’t find any negatives with the property. Absolutely nothing everything was perfect
- Gillian (10/5): Fantastic central location, lovely modern appartment with excellent facilities, shower was amazing. - Central location, modern apartment, very clean and comfortable, a fantastic base to explore the city of York. Really nice touches from the owner, milk in the fridge, a packet of biscuits, information about local shops, restaurants and pubs. Nothing
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Smith (9/5): Lovely stay - Very nicely decorated. Good use made of space. Good option for mother and two teen daughters. Well positioned for city centre. Just round the corner from York Minster. Nothing
- Esther (9/5): Enjoyable stay in York in a lovely little flat that is well located - The basement flat was 5 minutes walk from York Minster and had a local Tesco and Sainsbury within 1 minute walk. Flat itself was warm, cheery, bright and comfortable. Perfect for my wife and I. Nothing about the flat... possibly the impossible parking situation in York!
- Elaine (10/5): Fantastic stay - Loved everything about the property. The owner responded to messages straight away. Lovely and clean. Plenty of bedding. Lovely and warm with the radiators on
- Tracey (10/5): Enjoyable - Very clean, lots of plug sockets, great kitchen area, everything needed to cook if wanted. Bathroom clean, spacious shower area, bedroom amazing, lots of drawers and hanging space.
- Charlie (10/5): The property was lovely and we had a great time, Janet was very accommodating of our stay, we’d definitely come back. - Very modern and comfortable, the location was great and we could go back quickly if we wanted. There was also fresh milk and cookies !!
- Nadine (10/5): Just perfect - This was mine and husbands first visit to York and we wasn’t disappointed.
The apartment was beautiful very well designed, clean, warm and cosy.
Perfectly situated to visit all the attractions in York.
Janet was very helpful and even let us check out a bit later which was very much appreciated.
Would definitely return and will recommend to friends and family.
- Love (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (9/5): All good - Lively accommodation - so close to city centre Took awhile to connect to WiFi - but got there in the end
- Aradhana (10/5): Comfortable and clean! - Clean, comfortable and very good location. As lovely as it was - I did think it was a little bit overpriced.
- Andrew (10/5): We just wanted a chill out weekend for my wife and I and we certainly got that. So close to everything and great value. - It was beautiful and clean, we slept like babies Can’t fault anything
- Adam (9/5): Great stay for new year. - The location is great everything is close by, excellent decor, plenty of space and good facilities.
Also liked the warm bathroom and good sized heated towel rail. As well as the information left by the host.
I would definitely recommend. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked.
- Harry (8/5): Lovely flat in a perfect location. - The location is superb, you are a stones throw from York Minster and the city walls.
The living-dining area is really nicely decorated.
Surprisingly, despite being on a busy city centre street, it was very quiet within the flat. The doors and windows must be triple glazed as we heard no traffic while in the flat.
The host was able to sort out some on street parking which was only a 5 minute walk from the flat for £20 for 4 days. This being considerably cheaper than the city parking I had been considering for our stay. I would suggest the mattress on the double bed could be comfier.
The travel cot is a bit old and battered. The “mattress” for it was not really suitable for a baby, we had to fashion a new mattress out of duvet and a cot sheet.
- Brenda (10/5): Won’t look for any different accommodation when we visit York again. - The apartment was great. Had everything you needed. Location excellent. City walls at end of the street, 5 minute bus ride from train station. Couldn’t fault it.
- Michael (8/5): We'll be back ! - Great location, Very warm, clean and comfortable apartment which was well stocked with crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils. The parking permit provided was excellent and a not nearly as expensive as the public car parks I've had to use on previous visits to the area.
- Jo (8/5): Perfect location. Lovely appt. We had a fab time!! - Perfect location. Apartment was immaculate. Ideal for us. The sofa beds were not comfortable particularly the single bed. It needed a mattress topper. Even lying on top of 2 quilts it was still too hard and I could feel the joinings of the bed so I didn’t get a lot of sleep.
We found the heating a bit temperamental. It came on at strange times which we weren’t able to adjust. The radiator near the kitchen didn’t come on at all.
Otherwise no issues. Very pleased.
- Jackson (10/5): Excellent the best. - Location good. Couldn't fault the stay at all.
- Giuseppe (10/5): Short family trip to wonderful York - Location is fantastic, city centre and York Minster literally around the corner. Plenty of choices for take away food, pubs and restaurants in a 2 minute walk radius, as well as Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets.
Janet, the host, is friendly and very responsive.
Highly recommend!
- Katie (10/5): A comfortable, cozy stay in the heart of York! - This apartment is in a brilliant location, very handy to York city centre. It is comfortable, well-maintained and run by an excellent host! Noisy neighbours - often a con of flats! Disruption was tolerable however.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): The property was well appointed. Close to all amenities. Very good value for money 😀 - Ideal location - high spec. Very cosy.
- John (8/5): Very good - Central base for a city centre , easy access to most sites Although it was a good location parking was a good walk away especially as my wife tore her knee ligaments before we left I was hoping to pick her up at the flat but the traffic was horrendous to get back and forth ,also depending on who is staying above you you do hear them walking up and down their floor , if you can deal with that then your on a winner with this flat
- Clyne (9/5): We had a great time, and the owner couldn't do enough for uu - Superb location, minutes from city centre, plenty of bars shops,on the doorstep
- Jacqueline (9/5): Everything was great, comms from Janet superb 👍 -
- Glen (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - The host made it clear that she was happy to answer any questions and help us to feel comfortable during our stay. Checking in and out were simple processes and the apartment was very clean and well-presented.
The complimentary biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge upon arrival were a lovely touch.
The location was absolutely perfect: right near the city centre but with no noise coming from outside. Overall, really great value for money and I would absolutely stay again. There was some noise in the morning from the apartment above; we could hear heavy footsteps and running around, which made it a bit tricky to have a lie in.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (7/5): Good - The city centre location and the self contained apartment I thought there was on site parking
- Aled (10/5): A gem in York, great value for money. - I spent three days in York with my husband and my parents, and we couldn’t find a better place to explore the city’s main attractions from. This cozy, nicely decorated apartment sits in the heart of York, just a few minutes walk from most places of interest. At first, I thought it would be noisy as it’s a basement apartment but the double glazed doors and windows successfully guaranteed a restful sleep even in the lounge. The kitchen is very functional with top quality appliances, everything looking shiny and new. The shower is very good. Very good cleanliness standards. Our communication with Janet was great from the beginning, and she was an absolute star assisting us with the car parking and recommendations of pubs and restaurants. I would recommend this listing to anyone visiting York. In the ideal world it would be easier to park, but after staying 3 days in York I realised that parking 5 minutes away from the apartment is not bad at all. The traffic is very heavy and it is faster to walk than to drive anywhere. And since we were in a great location, we could get around very well without even thinking about the car for the whole length of the stay.
- Alison (8/5): perfect place to stay in York - great location. Very close to the centre with the Gallery two minutes away. Quiet at night.
