Guest Reviews
- Brian Svinth (8/5): -
- jennie (7/5): -
- Carla Valentina (8/5): Great for one night - It is very well located, the staff is really nice and pretty good breakfast. The rooms are a little more aged than it seems in the pictures and as it is next to the train station you can hear constant noise from the announcements. As a light sleeper would not recommend, but if you don’t have trouble sleeping it is a great option.
- Marion (9/5): - Ein sehr schönes, ordentliches, sauberes Hotel.
- Torbjoern Sture (8/5): -
- Kamarul Ariffin (10/5): Very friendly kaunter assistant with my train ticket and late check-out - Modern + premium Nothing
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Rikhelle (7/5): - This property is definitely in a good location to the train station and good if you are in need of a quick stay before or after train and they are great at getting your tickets printed for you so you will set to go, but there is nothing much around them so good place to have a rest day.
Room was clean and comfortable.
- hsinyu (9/5): -
- Kwanrudee (5/5): Passable -
- Bernard (5/5): Passable -
- Reinecke (6/5): Pleasant - the location directly in front of the railway station is perfect if you travel by train. The restaurant which belongs to the hotel is a disaster. The food quality is inacceptable, part of the stuff not motivated at all. Clients treated only treated as ATM. The hotel itself needs an urgent renovation.
- Felix (7/5): Good - Central location, simple but functional rooms, fair price Staff keeps begging for good reviews
- Jenny (9/5): Superb - Very warm welcome, the girls did their best in regards to the bicycles which made our stay much more fun. Cozy beds and hot water, smiling staff. And great location.
- Pearce (7/5): Good - The location was great. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were more dated than pictures suggested
- Dina (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very good -
- Ken (9/5): Superb - Great breakfast included!
- Logan (10/5): It was short and sweet, I’d say it was nice place to stay and very good to go back too - It was close to the train station, and the price was very affordable, especially for how nice it was. Very simple, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! The television, there was nothing of interest on. And the variety was soo limited.
- Denise (7/5): Good -
- Bernard (8/5): Very good -
- Veeramohan (8/5): Very good -
- Cruz (8/5): Great place for an over night stay to catch a train. - It’s comfortable and conveniently placed next to the train station. Breakfast included is essential and worth it. N/A
- Nina (7/5): Good - Right opposite train station
Shower was nice, good pressure and hot. Not very high though so have to duck to wash your hair. Pool was closed but didn't say online when booking. Booked the room as it had tea/coffee facilities but we had no kettle.
- Nichanun (6/5): It's ok if you have a trip with a train. - Very close to the train station, if you need to travel on or get off the train early in the morning, it's perfect. Also there are many delicious restaurants in that area. The room was old style and the electrical system looked unsafe The room was old style and the electrical system looked unsafe. The cleaning was not neat. When I checked in, I found a used bottle of lubricant in the drawer, so I had to ask to change rooms.
- Wayne (9/5): Awesome time, just far enough from the heart of Chiang Mai to be peaceful, close enough for a short - Loved my room, staff were all so friendly and helpful. Hired a scooter & everything was within 15 minutes of me. Beautiful location will stay again definitely
- bradley (8/5): - Nice hotel close to the train station
- Amber (10/5): Perfect location for the train and a delicious buffet breakfast! - This is the perfect location if you have an early morning train as it's literally across the street from the station (and next to a 7-11 for train snacks). The room was comfortable and as expected and the morning buffet breakfast (included in my room rate and very worth it!) was delicious with many different and delicious options to choose from. The staff was always kind and helpful and I felt very welcomed from the start. Thanks for a great stay! Everything was as expected!
- Nathan (2/5): Very poor - staff and location photos were not the actual room, there is a regular hotel and a special plus hotel. but they don’t tell you that so I check in thinking it’s going to be like the room in the pictures but it was gross and disappointing. very misleading
- Jansis (3/5): Convenient but uncomfortable - Close to train station
Sheets were clean
Breakfast was fair for the price Room and hallway had a very bad smell.
A/C ineffective and very noisy
Bed and pillows were really uncomfortable - saggy and lumpy
Security very poor - no safe and flimsy lock
Our room (classic) was more like a two star - overpriced for what you get - chain cashing in on lack of competition in the area
- S (9/5): Comfortable, and location to the station was perfect. - Excellent location to station and local interests. Good value for money. Room spacious and very clean with full complement of toiletries. Would stay again. Nothing to dislike.
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pimpilai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (5/5): Great location but not 3 star - The location, the lobby and the pool once I had found it in the hotel nextdoor It was very basic. The room needs updating. Very little information and not tea or coffee making facilities. I had to ask staff about the pool which is actually in a neighboring hotel.
- John (9/5): Superb - Close to train station
- Pisit (5/5): Passable -
- Hilary (9/5): Superb -
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, comfy bed! Fresh towels and bed made daily - thank you!
We enjoyed using the swimming pool once we found where it was!
Bit of a walk to get to the centre but we really enjoyed that ☺️
- Sara (9/5): Superb - The breakfast is amazing The sheets weren't very clean and there were some ants in the room. Not a major issue, but was not very pleasant.
- Sky-high (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (7/5): Overpriced with no coffee or tea - Located close to railway station so very convenient Wi-Fi very unreliable
T v poor selection
- Dad (4/5): Disappointing - Being next to the train station The room was very old and dated, I put my backpack in the wardrobe and in the morning I found it crawling with ants 😡, i have seen chalk in thailand that helps remove ants, it doesnt cost much and it works why not do it. I read other reviews on google saying its soundproof, thats a damn lie I could hear everything in the train station, sorry but the old deteriorated were talking over 20 years old, conditions honestly are not worth more than 750฿.
Put some love back into it and take care of the ants and then it maybe worth the money
- Colin (8/5): Very good - The location is very good for the railway station.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was closed 😫
- Allan (6/5): See above. - Please ignore this review of the Bossotel review as it is actually for the Be Parahsingh hotel in Chiang Mai, sorry. This is a complicated review of a brand new hotel that has some big pluses but a bit more negatives today, I hope the owners take this to heart and make the changes that are doable.
The location is decent but if your booking in Chiang Mai I’d book a couple of blocks south, plenty to choose from with a way better pool setup if you care.
Lots of pretty darn good $50.00 baht Thai restos nearby and a 7/11, for 100.00 baht you can have a Chiang and a Thai dish (small portions but good!) As well your just 50 metres off the main north south street.
The reception staff are brilliant and most helpful with ANY question or problem, however they are over worked and often the desk is unmanned.
The house-keepers are also over worked, they need 1or 2 more, they skimp on the toilet paper and I actually had to ask to have my bedding changed after quite a few days.
Unbelievably there is no safe in the room nor at reception! Also no kettle/tea/coffee etc., in the room, hard to imagine. There are kettles, coffee, tea, snacks etc., in the lobby area.
There is a tiny pool at ground level, in 2 weeks I saw 1 person in it, no loungers and no sun ever. There is a roof top deck with 4 loungers and chairs and a shower. To get to it I had to go down the elevator to the lobby and walk to another elevator, go up then walk up 2 flights Of stairs to the deck, very strange and totally inconvenient.
The rooms are brilliant, I had their most deluxe, massive bed and extremely comfortable and a big bathroom. The deck with the room was next to useless, 2 metres by 2 metres, like an oven with an ac unit and facing a wall.
Amazingly the T.V. Is a brand new 55”, sadly of the 6/7 channels none are in English and 1 is in French, if however you have a NETFLIX account at home you can access it here, at least I did, however many people do not have an account and NETFLIX is making some big subscriber changes.
As it stands today even though I didn’t mind my stay I don’t recommend.
- Clive (10/5): Our night at the Bossotel - The hotel was right opposite the railway station which is why we stayed there for the night. The interior design was fabulous almost like an exhibition, room 351 was exceptional with double aspect views. The was also a brilliant buffet breakfast Although there was an electric kettle no cups, tea or coffee were provided. There was however free bottled water. The hotel was however a substantial distance from the town but of course great for the station.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Mal (6/5): Not the best but ok for a one night stay - Room view was nice and right opposite the local train station, but if you aren’t using the train, then there’s no point. There’s a small scale breakfast buffet arranged through a property opposite the road Facilities were there but it’s obvious the hotel has been there for quite a while and all furniture, equipment were old. Have to travel a bit to reach main attractions in Chiang Mai.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -

- Daryl (10/5): Exceptional -
(5/5): Passable -
- Virat (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): - Outdated furniture but walk out the front door, cross the street, you are in the train station
- Thamer (1/5): Bad -
- Giovanni (6/5): Adequate for a night if you need to be close to the train station - It was somewhere to spend the night before our train the next morning. We picked the hotel specifically for this purpose. We were given twin beds instead of a double but we didn't have the will to go ask for a room change. It had all you needed so we were happy with that. Location wise, there was plenty of food options around if you bother to take a walk - way more restaurants than you could ever need. We found a great Japanese restaurant quite by accident. The rooms weren't all that clean and there were stains over all the furniture. The rooms could do with an upgrade - but I fully understand that to do so would be a costly endeavour.
We did come across another small hotel not more than 50 to 100m further along and checking on google, it looked new, a lot nicer and cheaper too. Might have been a better option.
- Raphael (2/5): - A fuir!
- ROBERT (8/5): Great value for money with outstanding breakfast - Excellent: Harris the hotel manager was over-the-top helpful and gracious; attached restaurant had affordable and very good Asian and Western fare; the 'included breakfast' was one of the best we've ever had with Hotels.com hotels. Offered us to use bicycles (free); Safe location.
Good: cleanliness of room; no smells; no bugs
Fair: the condition of the decor
Other: super convenient if you are traveling on the train or transiting. Near downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved their newly remodeled lobby, tastefully done
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenient for catching the train. Nice room. Friendly staff.
- George (6/5): Chiang Mai Challenge - Single overnight to catch the train to Bangkok. Great location for our purpose, but while the hotel 'looks good' going in, it is very dated & any renovation must have been years ago. Loud speaker announcements for trains disturbed our sleep & lasted until late & started early (4AM). Good buffet breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not recommended - The best of this hotel is the location, next to the train station. However the hotel rooms are worn and look very old, it seems that it used to be a pleasant hotel but not anymore. In my room the sewage smell was so strong that I had to keep the bathroom door closed permanently. The AC grills were filthy and the room was not clean, there was a lot of dust and dirt below the beds. The restaurant around this hotel are below average. The hotels
is being refurbished - February 2016 - so expect banging noise during the day. I'd not recommend this hotel, for 100 - 150 baht a taxi may take you to much better options to stay downtown Chiang Mai.
- ssj (8/5): close to train station - good, nice place, easy to get to from airport, next door to train station. pleasant staff, helpful, courteous.
quite surprised it was quite nice in the room and hotel in general well kept.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It's ok when you have a something to ride to. - It's too far from everything except the train station.... You need a motorbike or a bike or a car... Dealing with tuktuk or songtaew drivers everytime is very annoying... The hotel is old but they trying to make it clean but there were still ants in the bathroom. The breakfast was bad... I myself owns a restaurants for more than 10years so i know about this thing.. The food taste so much of MSG so in the end i ate only fruits.. They really need change the chef.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Victoria (10/5): reat hotel - Arrived after a 14 hour train trip from bangkok found hotel across road from station it is spotless inside and very comfortable I wouldnt reccommend the breakfast next door had ants in sygar and juice machine you need a taxi to get into the main part of chiangmai but there is a 711 a couple of doors down would stay here again
