Xingyan (9/5): Surprisingly great pitstop, enjoyed the in-room onsen bath and luxurious and large room space - Large, luxurious room with premium furnishings and all amenities expected from a luxury Japanese hotel (premium toiletries, nespresso machine, even a hair curler). The space is huge with separate toilet, sink, shower. All rooms are equipped with an in-room private onsen stone bath that uses natural hot spring water from Suwa. There is also a view of Lake Suwa from the room and balcony. We did not worry about the privacy although it's at the road and that was a concern when booking, but they have blinds to block so you can control it. They also have artistic decor in the hotel with some art display pieces and a lounge on 3rd floor with free fridge drinks. Additionally, the room came with a free high-tea welcome set which was a pleasant surprise. I don't think the photos do justice to the room! The entire hotel was very private too, with private check in, and the dining also had privacy screens for a romantic experience. Overall, was a great pitstop. We didn't fully enjoy the Japanese-Western fusion cuisine but that's our personal preference. The food quality was still good. Also, there was no turn down service. I would also have preferred if they helped us with the luggage as they didn't offer at all, but that's a small matter too. Finally, as it is quite a pricey hotel, we found there was value with a discount but the full rate could be steep.
Arma (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and helpful staff. English is sometimes a problem but thank goodness for Google translate. We had our hotel for the day cancelled and they did everything to help us book a new hotel I would definitely recommend to stay there There was nothing I didn't like
