Johnathan (10/5): Excellent experience!!!!!!!!! - This is an exceptional experience. The owner of KOMINKA guest house went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He even went out of his way to pick me up from the train station and dropped me off as well the next day. He took me to his favorite onsen bathhouse. Afterwards He made me dinner and put on a performance with the many different instruments he plays. His english is very good and was able to communicate with me, who knows little to no japanese. If you are looking for a truly authentic mountain japanese experience, I urge you not to miss the opportunity to stay at the KOMINKA guest house while in Japan. I didn't get to stay longer.
Natalie (10/5): I would emphatically recommend staying here to anyone I know. - The stay was exceptional. Our host, Yousuke, was incredibly accommodating, and provided an unparalleled experience that is only possible from a true local. The house is located about 15 minutes outside of Hakuba so it is close to attractions while maintaining an authentic style that is lacking in the highly trafficked tourist areas. The house is very traditional and will likely be most appreciated by those interested in a rustic lifestyle such as our group. The aesthetic and location, as well as Yousuke himself, really checked all of the boxes on our list.
