Guest Reviews
- Helen (9/5): A real piece of authentic Ireland! - What’s not to like?! It is a real home from home situated in the most beautiful place with views of Roaring Water Bay. Lots of authentic homely touches but with all the mod cons you need for a comfortable stay. It’s a great location for touring West Cork and would definitely recommend a stay here. Not a dislike in fact it’s what makes the location special but please be aware that the access form the ‘main’ road is down a narrow single track road which may be challenging for those in large vehicles or not used to driving these roads. The reward at the end of the lane is definitely worth it though!
- Katerina (10/5): Escape into paradise! - Loved the cosiness of the cottage - located in the middle of the scenic countryside, with well-equipped kitchen / utility room, and overall an extremely comfortable interior. It was 6 of us (and a baby) in the cottage and we always felt like there was enough space for all of us! Thank you for such a memorable stay!
- Guest (10/5): Finest location to explore South West Cork - Kathleen met us on arrival with a beautiful welcome. Cottage is set in the most idyllic location with only the sound of birdsong and lapping water to be heard. The outdoor seating areas offer views over the water and you've the imagery of Kilcoe Castle, Jeremy Irons home on the horizon.
Fantastically equipped with everything you'll need for a full decompression stay and the best sleep we've had in years. That we didn't stay longer
- Jean-Baptiste (9/5): - Tout : l emplacement, l accueil, le cottage intérieur/extérieur Rien-:)
- Lynsey (8/5): Relaxed stay in a homely country cottage - Rural peaceful location. It was great to have the wood burning stove in the living room for heat and a relaxed atmosphere. The cottage is homely and clean. My friend collected the keys from the host and they explained how everything worked in the house. Easy checkout too. You're close to some beautiful walks. I would recommend walking it driving up Mount Gabriel nearby for sunrise and/or sunset for views of West Cork peninsula. I'd recommend being used to driving on windey country roads to get to the cottage.
- Stephen (10/5): Kathleen instantly made us incredibly welcome and we absolutely loved our 3 nights at Heron Cottage. Couldn’t have been - Stunning location. Peaceful, comfortable beautiful.
- Elaine (10/5): Beautiful Cottage with stunning views - We (family of 6 Adults ) loved everything about Herons Cove . The house had such a beautiful vibe to it . The views were stunning over Roaring water bay . The peace and quiet was second to none . The weather was chilly at night so to have the wood burner there making the cottage extra cosy was such a plus for us . Beds were very comfy and having the en-suite in our room was a big plus.
Kathleen . The lady who owns the cottage . She was great , very friendly . Kathleen allowed us to check in early and check out wasn’t rigid either .. And communication great too. Explained everything to us . 100% we loved our stay . And would most definitely stay again . The house is approx ten min drive from the town.
- Chapman (9/5): - The cottage is charming, comfortable, homely, and pretty well equipped. The location is absolutely stunning. Totally private, and with incredible views across the bay. Access is via some very rural roads, which affords the cottage a wonderful, peaceful, and uninterrupted environment. The owner was so friendly and helpful, as was everyone we met. Charming and well served little villages a few miles away provided everything we needed. There are beautiful walks close by, typical irish pubs and we had an amazing boat trip out to the Fastnet light. We are definitely going back. Just loved everything about it. Everything was beyond our expectations, there's nothing not to like for us!
