Guest Reviews
- Molly (4/5): Bit miserable - It was near the shops The cleanliness was disgusting. There was dust everywhere and mold. The room was far too warm even with windows and a fan on. The bed had hair all over it and a hug stain on the duvet cover . The floor had crumbs everywhere . Was not happy with it at all
- Katie (5/5): Fabulous location for a night in Beverley and the option to pay £10 to park on site was appreciated. Being woke up by th - The location was great, looked good feom the exterior. Extremely dated, poor/uncomfortable mattress’, mould and dust.
- Hannah (10/5): Budget - Budget is in the name but our room was very nice and clean. Staff helpful on checking in
- Daniel (10/5): Great - Clean basic owner/manager great couldn’t do enough for us great location short stroll into town defo be back
- Veronica (3/5): - Tea and coffee facilities were good , bathroom adequate, hot water and good shower, fridge in the room . When we approached the property it looked really shabby , I know this is a budget accommodation but first impressions do count , the entrance doorway , absolutely filthy , a smell of stale smoke, covered by what I can only assume , air freshener,, on entering the room even stronger smell , again filthy , the bed was made with clean bedding , but the whole place needs a deep clean , I read the reviews last minute , so ended up taking my own bedding and towels ,, which i used , 20 years using Booking .com I have never stayed anywhere so dirty , I thought we should give it benefit of the doubt and we literally only slept in the room and stayed out the rest of the time apart from having to use the bathroom [ which was the cleanest part] , will never stay again and don't recommend it sorry
- Meldon (6/5): Adequate for my purpose - The bathroom was mouldy, the room felt damp and humid Room could’ve had windows that opened to air
- Stirk (7/5): Okay apart from bedding! - Fab location. Was clean enough. Bedding wasn't freshly washed. Matress was terrible. Not sure if the bedding had just been on the bed for ages or slept in before us. Didn't expect much for the money but fresh clean Bedding would have been top of my list.
- Maryrose (7/5): Convenient and cosy! - I liked the free parking, comfy bed, plenty of tea and coffee. Everything needed in one room, even a fridge and microwave. Cleanliness was also good. It was obvious that someone had paid attention to providing guests all they needed.
I loved hearing the bells from the Minster! Main thing I didn't like was a bit of mold in the bathroom which spoiled the otherwise great effort of cleanliness. No hot water and being next to the entrance , however because we had dogs with us, it was convenient for that.
It will be an even nicer place to stay with some decorating update.
It was a good budget hotel.

- Angel (5/5): - They need to change the mattresses; they're too old and uncomfortable. Thank you.
- Gore (8/5): -
- Jim (8/5): Great overall stay for a fair price. I would recommend to anyone who was looking for a cheap and easy overnight stay. - The property and room itself were in an excellent location, right next to the stunning cathedral. The room was immaculate with excellent facilities. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the shower worked intermittently.
- Nityamo (8/5): Quiet, peaceful, pleasant day in Beverley. - The Inn is very quiet and peaceful unless you count the minister bells, but I soon got used to those It is in a great location for the minister and walking into town. Unlike some of the reviews, I found the facilities comfortable, if old, and no strange smells, except as below with the laundry. I stayed there for three nights and was very happy. There is a kettle, a fridge, and a microwave so it’s very easy to look after yourself on the food front. The facilities are old, but that’s not really a problem if they are clean which they were. It would be even better with detailed cleaning, but it was fine. What I didn’t like was the highly perfumed laundry soap that they use for the linens. That was a little overpowering along with air freshener in the lower corridor.
- Les (6/5): price good. location good. cleanliness poor. - For the price it was great.
Good location, good price. Cleanliness...., if you were to move a bedroom cabinet, there was a load of litter and uneaten food etc underneath, where it hadn't been cleaned properly.
Same with th fridge... the fridge had leftover food in it from a previous client.
- Lee (1/5): -
- Harris (7/5): Great location and close to centre. Easy to find - NA Room tiny but for price ok
- Dumi (10/5): Great stay - Local to all amenities Steps to front door ABIT slippy
- James (7/5): Clean, seviceable. - N/A More detailed info on access to the property. I was left doubtful about the arrangements. Travelling is difficult enough without doubts when more info would hve dispelled those doubts.
- Oxi* (10/5): -
- Jessica (7/5): Loved the place - Everything Bit far from hull if you dont no bus times to get there cost like a extra 30 quid in taxi to get there
- Ranveig (5/5): -
- Joshua (1/5): Hotel is a severe health and safety concern. - The location of the property is probably the only positive, right next to the cathedral across from a large field. Just to be aware the bells do ring throughout the night so it is very loud. This was a last minute reservation as my previous booking fell through. The reviews on this place are bad but I don’t think they show the extent of how disgraceful this hotel is. I can quite categorically say this is one of the worst, dirtiest, rundown hotels I have ever stayed in. For £45 a night I know I shouldn’t have expected much but this place is literally a health and safety concern given the amount of black mould. I arrived earlier than expected, so I did have to wait an hour for the room the be ‘cleaned’. As soon as I entered the room it smelt damp. The floor was filthy and the bathroom walls were covered in black mould and the shower was black between the tiles. The shower head was broken so the water doesn’t come out of most of the spray holes. I had to go shower at a friend’s hotel as I felt dirtier after getting out. There is also black mould all behind the desk in the bedroom and every surface/table was covered in dust, cobwebs in every corner of the room and the lamps were thick with dust and grime. The bedding which looked clean smelt like it had been kept in a damp cupboard. The mattress is brown from all the stains and every part of the bed frame has years worth of dust build up. Luckily I didnt spend much time in the hotel as I was there for a wedding, but I did contact Booking.com to raise health and safety concerns. If you are looking for cheap accommodation, please find somewhere else to stay, even at £45 a night it is not worth the potential health risks. The owners should not be allowed to run a hotel if they clearly do not care about maintenance and customer health risks.

- Adrian (7/5): - Location was great, Beverly is a lovely place. I had room 10.arpund the back so was nice and quiet. I would of preferred more pressure from the shower but that's the only thing I'd change. Very good value for money. Shower pressure is the only thing I'd change but still great value for money
- Alison (1/5): - Just the location Was cold scruffy unwelcoming
- Christopher (8/5): Pass - Location to where I needed to go to. N/A
- David (1/5): I have requested a refund in full - Me
There is already someone in room 11
Hotel
??? The room is downstairs and perfectly acceptable.
Had you responded to my earlier text I would likely have realised my mistake
Me
But that’s part of the problem - only communicating by text. It hasn’t worked has it? I sent my first text at 17:19 I was sat outside for half an hour.
Hotel
I’m very sorry about that, there can be a delay in texts coming through
Me
I won’t be staying there - please process a refund for both nights
- Iosif (8/5): -
- Mike (6/5): -
- Allison (3/5): - Bit on the dirty side
- Lynn (7/5): - Ideal location, all necessary amenities provided Access was round the back and somewhat dark at night, had to use the torch on my phone as the movement sensors didn't adequately cover
- Brennan (7/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Leah (8/5): - Stay here every year and can't fault it. Get what you pay for. Its definitely had improvements. Love the location. Cold room, duvets very thin. Toilet system is Very loud when flushing.
- Vincent (8/5): Value for money and great for a one night stay if you are going into town. - Location was great, definitely budget but for a one night stay it was ok.
Good size room and on suite bathroom. Tired old place.
- Katie (2/5): -
- James (8/5): - The room was a good size and had extra beds for a larger party, well decorated. I don't remember if plug sockets were readily available near the main bed, and getting in was a little unusual (messaging and waiting for the door code)
But neither were a big deal and would definitely go back
- Samed (5/5): - Just the location was good It was very bad experience with the this property , the bed was not clean, and there is no hot water in the bathroom
- Wayne (8/5): -
- Lewis (9/5): -
- Zakria (1/5): Bad - heating was not on and blankets were small
- Taylor (1/5): - No fans for the rooms
Bedroom door didn’t lock properly so had an unsecured room from Friday till Monday Fans in rooms
Doors that locked
They was never a bbq which said they was
- Carol (7/5): ok - we had a problem getting the code
- Mark (1/5): Don't book here. - I never got to stay there...a joke. Gaining entry to the establishment is a joke...and awful customer service given...I wouldn't recommend staying here..it totally put me off staying there to be honest...I ended up avoiding and staying the night with a friend.
- Robert (5/5): Cheapest place to stay in Beverly, price matched the facilities. - The location was good Noisy situation next to the road.
Noisy function of the refrigerator
- Sally (2/5): Won’t stay again - Great for location It smelt of smoke had to keep window open for the bad smell
- John (6/5): Very cheap and got what we expected - Price
- Olamide (10/5): - Great room, got help from staff after I locked myself out, plenty facilities, in-room fridge, great price
- Matthew (4/5): You get what you pay for!! - Good location, comfy bed, had a good sleep , tea and coffee were a good surprise Cleaning could be more thorough, needs money spending on it as it could be so nice. Toilet seat kept leaning to one side, the shower head kept falling down. Windows want a really good clean. As I say it's a shame as it could be spot on
- David (10/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): -
- Glenn (6/5): -
- Emma (7/5): Cheap & cheerful but glad to be in my own bed! - Perfect location, nice little tea/coffee tray, reasonable value for the price The room needs a good renovation, pillows are thin and flimsy, thicker quilts also needed as the room is freezing at night in the winter even though the radiators were on all night we had to sleep in outdoor fleeces over our PJs. Old wooden stairs so even when stone cold sober, coming in late you cant help but make a racket, creaky doors and beds. Can't imagine if we had a drink how loud we would of been. 1 set of plugs behind the table off an extention so charging phones and using straighteners was a pain. 1 tiny round mirror in the bathroom so couldnt do hair/makeup to go out, flimsy white curtains so may as well not have anything up at all, sunrise and your wide awake listening to the chime of the clock every hour
- Kevin (1/5): -
- stephen (8/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent stay, great communication and free parking - Great budget hotel for location ita amazing
- sean (8/5): - just a room. you pay for what you get here in the budget sharing bathroom rooms , clean, easy, shower (although a bit awkward and need a new head , hot water, kettle fridge and wi-fi and cheap so wasn't sold as anything else so who's to complain - it was more than adequate for a two night stay. Harry the proprietor was always helpful and accommodating
- Elizabeth (7/5): - Great location. Fridge and microwave in room a big bonus Room temperature was cool up until late afternoon
- Marcus (1/5): Absolutely awful. Such a depressing place to end up in. - Nothing whatsoever neither of us slept. you could feel every spring on the bed and the sheets smelt dreadful, unclean. We got up in the morning and were freezing cold. It absolutely stunk of damp.
When we saw it was a budget hotel we thought it would be premier inn level which are fine.
It’s beyond grim. I was bitten 5 times in the night and slept half dressed to keep warm.
The mattress and pillows were disgusting. No pillow protection ?
In answer to their question about staying again and getting discount DEFINITELY NOT
We couldn’t read the reviews when booking as we had low signal but oh my goodness 😳 it was not something I’d be proud of.
To be honest it’s a shock that booking.com don’t have standards you have to meet,
We booked here because booking.Com had overbooked our hotel and they recommended this as an alternative . The photos looked ok so we booked . Very deceiving
Garden views?????
I’m sorry but I could go on but the list is endless
- Paul (7/5): Good price - Location. Right next to the minster! Location. Right next to the minster!
- angela (1/5): Bad place - It was near It was so called and when I complained I was told the heating will be switched on after 5pm ,imagine we're in the winter!! The man I spoke to was very rude and demanded that I should stop calling his phone. I will not recommend it to anyone.
- Wojciech (8/5): -
- Wasiq (10/5): -
- Rob (7/5): Served it’s purpose, somewhere to sleep after a night with friends - Get what you pay for. Basic accommodation for a reasonable price
- ansar (1/5): Don’t even bother - Last minute booking at original booking was cancelled Don’t think there was anything to like about the property, the clue is in the title and budget attitude from the host too, charged me an extra £10.00 to park my car outside the property.
- Carl (10/5): -
- Paul (6/5): Great location - Location was excellent, parking was good .The price was good for Beverley. The pillows on the bed were minging the wife considered buying some .
The stay was spoiled by other guests smoking cannabis in their rooms ,you could smell it as soon as you entered the property. Obviously this is out of the owners control.
- Ian (8/5): - Fantastic location
Good size room and bathroom
Free parking is available close by.
- Charles (8/5): Great value for money and right next to the Minster - Location fab. Microwave, fridge and kettle in the room shared toilet but clean and reflected in the price
- Patrick (8/5): - The location was great, just beside the Minster. The room was very cheap so we had low expectations but the room was clean, everything was fine. It was way better then we thought it would be and we would definitely stay here again.
- Edmund (8/5): Great price for the location. Friendly staff. - Great price for the location The Minster Bells - while lovely - chime all night.
- Dumi (9/5): - Next door to the Minster, right in town centre The stairs were narrow, but ok,
- Simon (7/5): - Perfect location for the weekend. Would stay again.
- Shayanewako (8/5): - Lovely location picturesque do beautiful Was good
- Olivia (5/5): Difficult to gain entry - Where it was and comfortable bed The entrance system was difficult
- Rebecca (5/5): -
- Michael (1/5): Shocking - The location was about the only good thing about it Upon arrival, a right polava to get in. Had to call the owner to get the pin for the door as the one in the email does not work. Then for the parking permit before you can actually park up for the night.
Carpets are matted with dirt, damp blistering around the windows and skirting boards.
More cobwebs than i could imagine, you would have thought it was halloween. Beds were cheap thin old matresses, sat on grandsons bed and fell through it as it was just a cheap put me up.
Best of all was the amount of pugs in the socket and extension, just a joke for health & safety. People say it is what you pay for as it is cheap, £85.00 a night is not cheap, £8.50 would be to much.
- osborne (1/5): Badly budget inn - Nothing! We had to leave no sooner as we arrived. The room was freezing cold and no heating. It was dirty and definitely not worth £10 a night!! The owner isn't interested in your complaint or opinions. Certainly won't refund you even when we accidentally booked 2 rooms! They made us pay for both of them even though it was 5 weeks before our stay.
They never released funds for cancellation and still haven't answered booking.com
Horrible place and despicable owner's. Avoid at all costs!!! Overpriced and more like a kennel! Definitely smells of one!! No heating on cold nights!!
- Steven (5/5): -
- Jane (1/5): We didn’t end of. - Nothing at all Everything in fact we did not stay there . Went in looked round and walked out . We have photos. Do you actually check these places out . To say we want our money back is an understatement. There was a smell in there it was dusty and dirty I sat on the bed it was really uncomfortable. You couldn’t lock the door from the inside there was bare wiring cobwebs galore so we left very quickly.
- Oliver (4/5): - Tatty place, room stank of old fusty smoke. Piles of junk in the entrance way. I know it cheap but that was next level. I walked in looked around and left
- Graham (8/5): -
- paul (5/5): -
- David (8/5): Basic facilities which were all that I wanted. Price and location were great. - Perfect for my requirements. Nothing!
- Bryan (4/5): - I know its a budget hotel/inn however Mouldy bathroom & damp walls i wasn't expecting yes its cheap and central getting a decent night's sleep isn't possible with paper thin mattress and banging doors!
- John (7/5): - Great location and very competitively priced. Smooth check in. Parking permit for nearby parking provided on check in. Furnishings etc were dated and tired but it was absolutely fine for a short stay and it was priced accordingly.
- Ariel (1/5): ROOMING HOUSE - NO STAFF - DANGEROUS FOR SINGE FEMALE TRAVELLERS! - BOOKING.COM YOU NEED TO REVIEW THIS LISTING IMMEDIATELY! IT IS DANGEROUS FOR MOST BNB TRAVELLERS. THE LOCALS KNOW THAT THIS IS A ROOMING HOUSE AND DIVE THAT LENDS ITSELF TO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES.
The Beverly Budget Inn, is A ROOMING HOUSE - A FLOP HOUSE. No onsite manager or person ever.
Lots of illegal activities taking place in plain site and view.
I was there with my teen daughter and saw very quickly that it was dangerous for us as two females.
We have booked all over the world and this was one of the worse.
They have a no refund policy to keep people stuck in this accommodation against their better judgement or will.
We book the travel lodge as our safety could not be compromised. All the people in town know the horrible reputation of this flop house or transient rooming house. - Anthony (8/5): Comfortable - Pleasently surprised with this "budget" hotel .
Comfy bed, plenty pillows, bedside lamps, quality towels and spacious bathroom.
Good value all round
- Edmund (8/5): Great value, perfect location. - The location is excellent and parking both times I’ve stayed has not been an issue. It’s a budget hotel and, as such, it’s very reasonable for the price considering the location which is beautiful. The bells from the Minster chime all night so take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!
- Jimmy (5/5): -
- Gerry (6/5): A bit limited but clean and in a decent area - There was no breakfast or physical presence in terms of check in/out but this was expected, it was dated but relatively clean, not too far from the town centre It is very dated and in need of a refurb and parking is extremely limited nearby
- Angela (5/5): - Location Bed very uncomfortable
- Tim (1/5): Horrible, felt unclean and spoiled the weekend, never again - Location No staff to speak to, mould around bathroom and dirty corners, bed was the worst ever, springs protruding form the rock hard mattress, tea bags tasted disgusting, although this could have been the cup, water or milk! 12 inch tv had no signal
- arthur (2/5): Take into Account - Central location Had to gain entry via a text message. I missed it on the booking form so delayed entry.
Bathroom right at the top of the house, low water pressure.
The window frames were totally rotten.
Owner very arrogant.
Very clean though.
Apart from these things, and enjoyable stay.
- ian (1/5): - Shower terrible. Clean to be fair Shower was very poor.
