Guest Reviews
- Fiona (10/5): Great cosy place in an awesome location! Would stay there again. - Extremely clean and well-presented, cosy place. Comfortable furniture in the lounge for watching TV. We took our little dog with us, and he was happy there. Great front yard for him to roam about in. We walked him down to the Primary School oval each morning for a run around. So easy walking to the main street of Margaret River for breakfast & dinner. Great location. Nothing

- Kate (8/5): - Excellent location close to town, great set up, all the amenities needed. Great space to chill inside or have a meal outside. Clean, tidy, cute little touches like fresh flowers in the main room and bedrooms. Dog friendly. Lovely fruit trees outside. Could do with some foot poofs for the lounge room. Light in the single beds room had a glow all night after switching off.
- Saloni (4/5): Clean and well-located, but comfort & responsiveness did not match the price or listing accuracy - Good location, quiet street but very close to the main area. Important to note for summer stays and families: although the property is listed as air conditioned, only the living area and one bedroom have AC. The remaining bedrooms rely on pedestal fans. This limitation is not stated in the listing. When this was raised with the host, we were told that the listing does not state that all rooms are air conditioned, only that the property is air conditioned!
During our stay, there was only one pedestal fan available between two bedrooms, despite the host repeatedly insisting that there were two. A second fan was never provided, which meant one bedroom remained hot and uncomfortable at night during a particularly warm period.
Additionally, one single bed (out of two) was left unmade on arrival. This room was allocated to our 5-year-old and is located far from the other bedrooms, so extra linen was requested for the unmade bed so an adult could sleep in the room. This simple request was denied. The linen was only provided on the fourth day of our six-day stay, and only after escalation with booking.com. By that time, we had already made alternate arrangements by purchasing our own linen.
At AUD 1,400 per night, the stay did not meet expectations for comfort, accuracy of listing, or responsiveness. Future guests may want to explicitly clarify bedroom air conditioning, fan availability, and linen arrangements in advance.
- Ian (10/5): Little Gem in the heart of Margaret River, room for 4 adults and two kids. - Well fitted out with excellent touches - fresh flowers, coffee pods, Bluetooth speaker.
Superb location for walking in to Margaret river. Only two of us but spacious for 6.
- Anthony (10/5): Wonderful property in a great location - This was a very comfortable cottage with a pretty garden including a lemon tree with huge lemons on it right now.
There was plenty of room to relax and a well-equipped kitchen with toaster, kettle, coffee machine, cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave.
There were freshly cut in the main room and bedroom which was a lovely touch and the main heater was on when we arrived. This was particularly thoughtful as it was a cool day when we arrived.
The location is very quiet yet itβs only two streets from the main road and hence five or six minutes walk to the closest restaurants.
You will need a torch (we used our phone ones) because there is no street lighting. This to me is a bonus because Iβve stayed at so many places where a street or hotel light has disrupted my sleep.
This house feels loved and we loved staying here. Nothing of note.
- Sonya (10/5): We would definitely return here for a stay, a beautiful cottage, thank you π - Cosy and very comfortable, with many thoughtful inclusions π©΅ spotlessly clean, too.
The gardens, providing a beautiful environment to look out on and explore.
Prompt response when we contacted the host with a tech related question (our lack of knowledge π, thanks for talking us through the steps!)
Location was fabulous too, so close to the main strip. Nothing, although we were travelling with our 84yo mother, and did think a footstool to put up her feet would have been helpful (we used a dining chair, which did the trick nicely π)
- Angela (10/5): Great house in great location - The house is beautifully renovated without losing its period charm. Very neat and clean, and easy to keep clean. The garden is very sweet, and the location could not have been better. Loved it!! Nothing
- Caroline (8/5): Fantastic long weekend to enjoy the wonders of food and wine from this beautiful region. - Beautiful cottage within walking distance to main street of Margaret River. Garden superb and enclosed for our furry friend to enjoy despite the poor weather. Comfortable beds. Seating arrangement in main area great for relaxing in the evening. The only thing I wish was better was the wood fire burner which didn't seem to give out much heat. There was however a split system in place which helped. Bedrooms were also supplied with an electric heater.
- Storm (8/5): - Good location. Wonderful vintage home. Way too many rules. I'm used to accommodation that does it all for you. I guess that's the price of holidaying in Australia vs the rest of the world.
- Doreen (8/5): -
- Roy (9/5): Comfy and convenient spot to the shopping street - Well stuff and laid out for accommodation immediately. Kitchen and laundry were well done. There was a power trip.
- Chye (9/5): Perfect location -
- Lisa (10/5): We had a lovely stay with an elderly aunt from New Zealand. We all found it really lovely and very well located. - The property was quaint, well furnished and lovely and warm. It was in a great location. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally Clean, Beautiful Gardens, close proximity to town centre
- Mark (8/5): Great long weekend away venue in heart of Margs. - Great location and nice property for our family visit. Loved facilities and feel of the place We had to leave β¦
- Shannon (8/5): Very good - There was an issue with one of the ignition lighters on the cook top. The air con in the lounge didn't really work. I wouldn't recommend staying here in summer on a really warm day unless the air con is fixed. The air con in the main bedroom however was fantastic.
- Colleen (10/5): Relaxing peaceful & would definitely return - Beautiful presented - fresh flowers a lovely touch
- Penny (10/5): Such avfabulous time with my daughters, Elva cottage is so cute, cosy, clean and comfortable. - The owner left some grapefruit and avocado and lemons. Very thoughtful. Nothing.
- Tapper (8/5): Very good - loved the "old school "retro feel of the property.
Easy 5 min walk to town,
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Adeline (10/5): Charming Stay in Margaret River - The house was beautiful, full of charm, and made for a relaxing retreat. The location was fantastic β just a short walk to town with plenty of restaurants and Woolsworth is just around 200 metres walk. Its a great base to explore the stunning Margaret River region. Highly recommend for a delightful and convenient stay! Nothing that I can think of.
- Sabrina (9/5): The cottage suited our stay perfectly and was good value for money - Very well equipped and very well furnished according to
The period it was built. Extremely clean, everything seemed new
Walking distance to town and restaurants
Cute garden finishes House very dated . Back deck could be smartened up : it was in a nice spot for the sunset but plants and timber slats over the fibro wall were needed
- Ginette (10/5): Very quiet location, wonderful stay - Beds comfortable, lovely bathrooms, fresh flowers in vases, coffee machine, tea, sugar, s&p and olive oil. Lovely furnished home in a tranquil garden setting. Nothing
