Guest Reviews
- Mykola (10/5): - It’s so amazing place🌝 Nothing

- Paweł (10/5): - We will remember the atmosphere of the Eyjar Fishing Lodge forever.
There is nothing else around and the fantastic view is not obscured by anything. I highly recommend!
Good breakfast. The microwave and electric keetle in the common area were nice to have. Our room was a bit small. But because of that we have spent an evening in the common area and met lovely Australian folks, so it was not that bad :-)

- Jaime (9/5): Tudo OK; Quarto pequeno.

- Charles (10/5): Comfortable stay. Nothing bad. - Everything was fine thanks.
Zeer mooie omgeving Vrij kleine kamers

- Anita (10/5): Lovely spot with gorgeous views. - Felt very homely. Lovely views. Could chill in the lovely lounge with coffee and just enjoy the scenery. Breakfast was nice. Dinner was available 15 mins away in nearest town. Had hot tub but we didn't use it.

- Elizabeth (9/5): - Great views, even in the rain . Comfortable bed. Enjoyed the hot tub !
- Philbrook (10/5): A magical place to stay along the East Fjords with gracious hosts and a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended. - This was a magical stop and stay on our trip. A beautiful and rustic fishing lodge set in a picturesque setting. The breakfast was delicious too. But the highlight was the generosity we received from the hosts. We had a flat tire and they helped us with putting on the spare and directing us to a tire shop in the next town where we got it fixed. But wait, there’s more. My girlfriend left two jackets behind and they went out of their way to send them to a hotel where we were going to stay further on our trip. It was so nice of them to do that and were extremely grateful.

- David Suurland (10/5): - A hidden treasure is all i can say. A home away from home. Actually, i'd like my home to look like this and have this level of coziness. Very tidey, spacious, luxurious without being trendy, everything is top notch. An old fashioned quality lodge, with sauna and hottub and excellent breakfast for a price that is inpossible to beat. Highest recommendation. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The only drawback might be location but this is due to it being the east fjords and not bustling south iceland. If you want to wind down a bit and take your time to explore and relax this is the place to be.
- Liveta (10/5): - One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Iceland. Very cozy place. Breakfast great. We enjoyed time in sauna and hot tub.

We are programmed to receive, you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave". Nulla. E' un posto così. O piace o niente. A noi è piaciuto.

Niets… alles was prima!
- Vignir (8/5): -
- Allan (7/5): Get away in middle of nowhere - Very nice location in middle of nature, nothing else around. The cottage was very loud between rooms and hallway, people talking in common room or hallway disturbed sleeping in otherwise quiet surroundings.
- Juraj (10/5): Icelan paradise - Beautiful Country, mountain...paradise on the world..you have to come and visit it...words are not enough to explain how gorgeous it is.. Price is to high but now I understand why...you have to pay for paradise...
- Samar (7/5): Good - The room was okay—clean and decent overall. However, the place felt a bit eerie since there was no staff or other guests around. It was kind of scary being there alone. A little more presence or support would’ve made the stay feel safer.
- Erminia (9/5): Superb - The location is very beautiful, the house looks very nicely decorated. The common living room was very beautiful with big windows and a big deck to admire the amazing scenery. The room was confortable and clean and the breakfast was very good. The heating worked well and we had good hot water. There was also a sauna and a jacuzzi, unfortunately we did not get a chance to use them as we arrived late in the evening, but they looked clean. One small suggestion would be to have a smart TV instead of a non-smart TV, but this is nitpicking compared to what the cabin has to offer.
- Kellie (7/5): Good - The hot tub was nice after a long drive. The room had everything we needed, it was expensive. The breakfast provided was a plate of food left in the fridge with a post it note to identify it as ours. There was no host onsite, information was provided via post it notes.
- María (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kellen (8/5): Great Lodge in remote location - stunning views. - The remote location in the giant valley was so fun and unique! It was the perfect stopover on a long road trip. The room was exactly as advertised, it's nothing fancy but it held up to our expectations. The beds were comfortable enough and the room was dark. It was easy to get inside and find our room/key. No complaints!
- James (5/5): Beautiful place, bad hotel - 1. Self check in and NO info before arrival (drove up to it and thought it was wrong loc based on pics)
2. NO info on where to get food in the area (only one choice)
3. VERY basic rooms
4. only redeeming factor is the view from the common area (it is amazing)
5. the drive up to the place (over mountains rather than on Hwy 1) was incredible. Hotel very disappointing
- Gioia (6/5): Pleasant - The house is very traditionally furnished in keeping with the fishing lodge theme. The owners were very friendly. We enjoyed our one night stay. Everything was clean and cozy. There is also a hot tub and a living room where you can relax. As we were the only guests (off-season) there was no dinner, it would have been good to have been informed of this in advance. Unfortunately there is only one small shop/café in the neighbourhood (15min ride) it is important to ask the owners about opening hours. Otherwise it is difficult to get food here without preparation.
For us it was a bit expensive for one night without the possibility for dinner and all alone in the house.
- Jason (8/5): Quiet Location and Cozy Room - Self check-in and check-out process was easy and there was ample of parking space. Note: go straight to main building, enter through a frosted glass door with fish on it and look for room with your name pasted on the door. Although the room was a little old but we slept comfortably throughout the night. It was well heated too. There was a water kettle in common dining hall if you need one. Breakfast was self-serviced and the ingredients were in the kitchen.
- Nadine (10/5): Exceptional - This place is very special in many ways. The rooms are clean, each with their own bathroom, there‘s a sauna, which we did not use and a hot pot, which we also did not use, available. A very nice breakfast was offered, which included eggs, bread, jam, cheese and ham. The common room is very cozy, but if you are not a fan of hunting trophies, you should probably not spend too much time there.
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - remote accommodation, superb living room, sauna was a nice bonus, very authentic overall
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jared (10/5): Exceptional -
- Minna (9/5): Beautiful accomodation and great breakfast! - The house was beautiful, and our room was cozy and clean. Breakfast was really good. There was no information in the house about the sauna and hot tube, so we didn't know there was possibility to use them.
- Kristín (9/5): Very cozy and nice -
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Charming and cozy. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a fjord. Town not too far away. Great midway between Egilsstaðir and Höfn
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vonda (8/5): Clean and roomy. - Clean, large room. No staff to prepare breakfast and no tv stations.
- Li (8/5): Very good - Great view, self check in Far away to down down
- Tim (8/5): Very nice stay with a quiet, off of the beaten path location. - Breakfast was good and available earlier than advertised. Everything was good and staff was friendly.
- James (10/5): Just super good - Breakfast was excellent and my wife spoke Icelandic with them and they spoke English with me. Super good No complaints
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb -
- Donald (8/5): Very good - Lovely spot not far from town.
- Kimberley (10/5): Amazing stay loved the heated floors. Excellent host. Retired guide gave us a location to fish and we caught some amazin - Easy to check in. Great location. Delicious breakfast included. Wonderful hot tub and sauna. Could have used a face cloth.
- Torfi (8/5): Very good -
- Frank (9/5): Beautiful facility in a picturesque location in a remote area of Iceland. - The rooms are quite small but I found the beds comfortable. There is plenty of hot water for showering. The sitting area, which is also where breakfast is available, is beautiful, well decorated, with an incredible view of the river valley and mountains beyond. We were lucky to have a rainbow show up for us as well. The breakfast is typical for Iceland. The coffee was excellent and they had a coffee machine in addition to the carafe of coffee. My wife and I never saw another person while staying there except one still sleepy guest who popped in for a second or two about 0830 to see if breakfast was ready to eat. We never saw him again. It would have been nice to have a local recommendation for a place to eat dinner. This quite beautiful lodge is about 4 km on a gravel road from Iceland 1.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Berglind (7/5): Very nice place and beautiful :) - The breakfast and location was great :) Beautiful view :) The hot pot was out of order and the TV didnt work. Also we thought we could have dinner in the house but that was not possible.

- Kerstein (7/5): Good - Beautiful location, friendly host, and appreciated the breakfast options.
- Sy (10/5): Best memorable stay - Lovely home feel property . Owner is so kind and responsive. We arrived in the midst of heavy snow.. and were glad to find more than enough food for 6 of us in the lodge . Thanks for your hospitality and consideration. None
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - Really unique lodge. The staff were helpful. We were the only ones there so it was dead quiet. The sauna was a treat. The plentiful self-serve breakfast was great. All good
- Evelina (10/5): If you want the cozy feeling, this is it - I want to start with saying that owner of the property is amazing. We called in to check on couple things and he was able to call local staff and checkin on the space
Next the space was magical, it felt really homy! Even thou it was just my partner and I who stayed in the space (which was nice); I could see this space being filled with people who interact by laughing and story telling!
The man who was taking care of the space helped us with settling in during the evening (showing up on a last minute booking) and gave us really good suggestions for our trip through the north of Iceland!
Overall even though we are not knowledgeable of the finishing and hunting, this space was just a perfect one for us to stay and enjoy.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Aleksander (7/5): Stunning view - Stunning view of nature. Lovely lobby for guests. The rooms are rather small and spartan not reflecting the price per night.
- Hrstková (10/5): Great accomodation in very nice location - Great accomodation in very nice location .Very tasty breakfast and common room. Nothing
- Andreas (9/5): Would book and come again - Good Breakfast, very nice Host Lady.
Landscape just great.
- Jenni (9/5): Lovely quiet country stay, would recommend. - Was gorgeous views, breakfast included was amazing and lots of choices, wasn’t far away from town so lots of options for dinner and exploring. The rooms were very very small.
- Arthur (10/5): not do anything the hotel, he told us to walk back to the hotel for six hours without any help, the police did not appea - Very friendly manager Beautiful
- Samir (6/5): Pleasant - Only stopped overnight but seemed like a nice place and views were amazing. Breakfast was good and staff friendly and helpful. Got there late so didn't get a chance to spend much time there. Rooms a little bit small
- Are (9/5): Superb - Place was nice and relaxing Fix the sauna, shower there and hot tub has seen it's best days already. Room was clean but found some empty beer cans at closed.
- Cece (10/5): Exceptional - Our host welcomed us upon arrival and was gracious in answering all of our little questions. The facility was impeccably designed, very clean, and had a large family style table for the included breakfast. Our host also cooked bacon and scrambled eggs for us, upon order! The drive down through the mountains was a little scary, but the lodge is easily accessible from the ring road.
- Andrea (9/5): A gem in the fjord - Fantastic scenery, good room, good service, good breakfast, very nice living room where relaxing and reading with peace and quiet. Breakfast also was good. Honestly, nothing to mention
