Guest Reviews
- Darren (10/5): - Absolutely spotless and everything that you need is there. Lovely little place, would very happily stay again. Blinds didn't keep sunlight out early morning. But I needed to be up early so wasn't much of an issue for me, maybe for some though.
- jonathan (10/5): - Central to what we needed as we were visiting Clarksons farm.
- Shivangi (9/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Beautiful cottage with everything one needs!
- fbfd8e27a5b0716e9023e52978d6c010 (9/5): Had a lovely stay. The house was warm, relaxing and cosy with a picturesque walk into Witney for our son’s engagement p - Uncluttered, tidy and clean. Lack of dishcloth, bin liner and washing up liquid.
- Helena (5/5): -

- Roisin (10/5): Warm and wonderful hosts! Great location - Everything was amazing, Host were very kind and helpful!
We had some difficulties understanding how to work the oven and they helped us even on Christmas day!
Couldnt have asked for better hosts. Home was warm and cosy, they had even decorated for Christmas! Thank you so much It wasnt too much of an issue as there was great parking at the rear but note that the driveway can be tricky at first.
- Hayley (10/5): Fantastic communication with the the host, close to where we planned to go, didly squat farm and the farmers dog, clean - Lovely cosy cottage, everything we needed in it Everything was great could not fault it
- Deborah (7/5): A quaint stay on the outskirts of Oxford - The cottage was very quaint and well presented The driveway was impossible to get on as it was too steep however there was free parking next door which was very accessible
- Sam (4/5): Could be so much better - Was a clean, warm property, perfect for walking into Witney. Good to be able to park at the property but could do with a retarmac. We didn't like the fact there was only 2 teabags in a jar and the little amount of coffee left was clearly out of date - along with the teabags if that's possible, they tasted rank. There were 4 adults staying and expected to all be able to have a decent cup of tea.
The main room bed was majorly uncomfortable, my husband barely slept and then had a bad back for a couple of day. There was no full length mirror in this room either.
Hand gel & Shampoo watered down.
It could do with 2 sofas, rather than 1 and 2 dining room chairs to sit on in the lounge area - didn't make it a very comfortable & relaxing lounge area.
Such a shame as it could be fantastic accommodation, with some little tweaks & a bit of effort.
- Wilson (9/5): A great base to explore the Cotswolds. Very close to Farmers Dog too. Highly recommend. - A lovely cosy cottage that was great for our stay in the Cotswolds. Good shower. Very clean. Kitchen well equipped lounge sofa and chairs very comfortable. Great communication with property owner. Driveway is very tight to get onto from main road. Wasn’t a problem but could be for some. It did date double rooms but it was one double and one twin. Again not a problem but might be worth updating the details.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Nice central location 30 mins from diddly squat farm, the farmers dog, Bourton on the water and stow on the wold. Beds bit soft bit awkward to get in to parking space.
- Molly (10/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): Lovely spot for a quick overnight stay - Great location, lovely living room, airy bedrooms, brand new bathroom! The punching bag was great fun to use! The kitchen amenities could have been a little better.
- Tessa (8/5): We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage, which catered for all our needs apart from the few blips mentioned. - The cottage was really lovely, well presented, fully equipped, clean and tidy apart from a few blips. During our few days stay we came across a few faults which did need addressing. The bed lining, although had been cleaned had stains which didn’t look very nice. One of the light bulbs in the bedrooms had blown so wasn’t working, and the cereal bowls, in my opinion needed to be double the size as they didn’t even hold two Weetabix.
- Patricia (6/5): Correcto en general, pero pésimo para dormir - El pueblo está bien y tiene todos los servicios necesarios Las camas son realmente incómodas y las cortinas no tapan la luz por lo que era imposible dormir bien
- noel (8/5): - The driveway is tight and difficult to access because of the traffic lights
- Paul (10/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Very clean, perfect location for our stay. Communication with the host was pleasant and easy.
Comfortable beds & didn't get too warm during hot days.
Following suggestions from others we parked around the corner. A couple more plates and/or a teapot would be nice but nothing major.
- Sarah (10/5): 5 stars!! Will definitely be booking here again - Beautiful cottage & the owner was super helpful & responded immediately. Lovely little touches like milk & tea which was much needed after a long trip.
- Deirdre (10/5): Comfortable short break. - Lovely cosy house within walking distance of Witney and good bus service to Oxford.
- Linda (6/5): Not quite what I expected for the price but comfortable enough. - The bedrooms were a good size and it was clean. There was no sun block out on the windows so it was very light in the bedrooms at sunrise. The location wasn't what I expected. It was a bit out of the main part of town. It was difficult with the driveway being right on the traffic lights. We parked around the corner and the car got covered in bird poo. Even going through the car wash didn't remove all of it. It would have been good to have a clothes drier. The kitchen needed some tongs. Another roll of toilet paper would have been helpful.
- Andrew (9/5): Great host, great house, great location. Would recommend. - Charming house, close to centre of town. beautiful area. House was clean, a small bottle of milk provided (thank you!), and no real issues with anything Nothing.
- Alison (5/5): It was ok, convenient, but not value for money and lack of host communication - Convenient location Could not open garage door to promised gym, I contacted host about this but no response, Wifi was difficult to find, traffic noise outside
- Steve (9/5): House was clean an warm, just what we needed for a short visit - Clean, good size, convenient location Main road outside, but only minor issue as we were expecting it
- Simone (8/5): Well presented property, worth staying in! - Good location, but hard to get in and out of driveway, so parked in parking area next door.
Very clean accommodation.
Host was very nice and answered questions quickly. There is a washing machine, but no clothes rack to hang things on.
As it was Winter, hard to dry clothes.
- Charlie (9/5): Superb - Lovely decor and welcoming host. The garage gym was brilliant, the selling point for our stay.
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (6/5): pleasant and met basic needs - The house was very clean and easy to find. It was clean and comfortable Unfortunately there was nowhere to dry clothes despite a washing machine in the house. No outdoor clothes line and no dryer in the house. Lack of kitchen items (no tin opener, scissors or peeler) made cooking problematic, not many pots and pans either and there was no cafetiere or coffee machine on site. Reported this to the host who was responsive and very nice and acknowledged this was an issue and would be rectifying for future guests. Parking was on the driveway which if you have a large car maybe an issue, the property was right next to traffic lights so coming out of the drive could be tricky, there is a residents car park next to the property which may need better instructions from the host to get to.
- Simon (9/5): Bumble Bee Cottage is a lovely, cosy property on the outskirts of Witney. - It’s a lovely cottage, simple as that! Honestly, one of the best things about it was the frequent, warm and accommodating correspondence with the owners!
- Mohivij (8/5): Very good - Cozy cottage, close to Cotswolds villages Entry needs to be renovated
- Ruth (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - That it was cosy and clean, 4 of us stayed and we had plenty of room. I loved everything
- Yelland (8/5): Very good - Good location and parking Could've done with curtains in the rooms rather than blinds that let light in we had to block light in both rooms with blankets, plus no tea towels.
- Roy (8/5): Very good - Location cleanliness No house manual and thin bedroom blinds that let the early morning light
- Luke (9/5): Superb -
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adele (10/5): It was a lovely stay , really cosy . The house has a rustic feel but it was modern , there was a very nice balance. - Great location, near Oxford city and also near the Cotswold villages ! I don’t mean to be vain but there were not enough mirrors .
- Patricia (8/5): We were attending a family funeral so location made it convenient. - Very modern, clean and friendly neighbour. Located on a very busy main road and the entrance / exit directly in line with the traffic lights which made it very difficult using the parking area to get in and out of.
It’s not a semi detached as advertised, it is the end of a row of terraced houses and the neighbours used the property’s back garden to exit their back gardens.
- Roger (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay & would definitely book again. - Great location, close to Oxford, Only a short bus ride away. Cottage was very clean and well kept. Would definitely book again! There were no Instructions for heating & Wi-Fi.
It would also benefit from some information leaflets on local attractions & places to visit. More comfy seating in the living room would be needed if 4 guests were staying, as the sofa was only big enough for 2 guests (you could get 3 on it at a squeeze).
- Fiona (9/5): Lovely, convenient and clean - helpful host - Comfortable accommodation and lovely clean bathroom, kitchen and other rooms equally clean.
Opposite main bus stop from Oxford -v convenient Had brief problem with heating not coming on but resolved quickly and happily so all ok. Lovely host and place to stay
