Guest Reviews
- Ann (7/5): - Location, cosy cottage, comfortable beds. Bits of food caught in sink drainer plug, under bowl
Key box difficult to close up.
Some shower soap or lotion would be good for short stays.
Long stay carpark didn't accept a digital wallet payment.
- David (8/5): Lovely little house in a great location. - Fantastic location, easy to park close by at the main long stay car park and only a short walk from there to the house. There is a short stay car park directly opposite which helps for arrival and departure. Another short walk to the pubs / harbour. Friendly helpful owners. The house was well equipped and a good base for exploring. Nothing comes to mind it was a great few days.
- Amanda (9/5): A few issues with a leak outside owners control but well managed by the hosts. - Ideally located in central Mevagissy. Close to amenities. Good access. Clean and tidy. Good host communication. Living space ideal for the two of us, but maybe a little tight if 4 staying. But location and value for money worth the rub.
- John (6/5): - Bed comfy Heating complicated and front door key very stiff in lock
- Ian (8/5): -
- Francesca (9/5): wonderful - Loved the location. it was perfect for our family and such a quick walk to the harbour. The sofa and chairs could have been a bit comfier. it was absolutely fine for the few days that we were there.
- Lois (10/5): - Was a lovely place 😊 Nothing not too like
- Webb (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): - Charming place to be.
- Gill (8/5): Lovely Traditional Cottage a stone's throw from the centre. - Such a wonderful location and lovely, very responsive hosts (unlike me who forgot to leave the review 🙄) always makes this traditional seaside cottage a place to return to.
We found the parking very easy too.
This was our second visit within 6 months and we really looked forward to coming back. We liked everything as it IS very traditional and brilliantly convenient to the harbour and the restaurants and pubs.
- Sally (5/5): Needs a little bit of freshening up - Location I thought he needed updating the wood work on the doors was dirty, the tv channels didn’t work, so wasn’t used, the key is quite dodgy in the lock, he bedding in the bunk was smelling of damp and nothing to hang your clothes up on
I think the walls need treating for wet patches and painting is required
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - Very pretty and amongst everything in the town. Nothing
- Rothwell (9/5): Superb - Great location and a well equipped cottage, ideal for a couple of days away All was good for a town centre cottage
- Margaret (9/5): Great place to stay - Cute cottage in beautiful Mevagissey. Loved this town. Perfect location. Well equipped.
- Lucy (9/5): A well equipped and comfortable cottage in a fabulous location for accessing Mevagissey. - Instructions for finding the key safe were very clear The key safe was a bit fiddly to open and to lock up. I had to phone the host to ask for help. However, the advice he gave was clear and worked!
- Luke (8/5): Very good, lovely village to stay at and visit. Great value for money - Location was perfect The chairs where a bit uncomfortable in the lounge but that’s all I can fault with it
- Mark (10/5): Great place to stay !! - We arrived to a wonderful cottage. Very clean and well presented. We love this village and being able to stay in the heart of it was wonderful. Will certainly be booking again. Thanks.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (10/5): Gorgeous little cottage in the centre of Meva - Beautiful little cottage. Absolutely perfect for our short break. Ideal for couples or families with younger children. Can't fault. New bed pillows are needed. Definitely seen the best of their life. Perhaps bigger towels as well and a hand towel for the bathroom.
- Jon (9/5): Great location, cottage setup really well and thought of lots of things. Kitchen well stocked with n - Great location and cottage much better than we expected. Comfy bed, good kitchen and great shower. Good TV selection also Difficult to get into key lock as we were using the wrong one. Could do with removing the old one.
Sofa chairs were uncomfortable after sitting there for a while.
But these are minor issues
- Michael (10/5): Cosy, comfortable fishermans cottage. - Location excellent, close to harbour, shops, restaurants/pub. Cottage well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Parking close to Fisherman’s Cottage. Excellent location as a base to explore Cornwall. Not able to identify anything we didn't like.
- Laurence (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (9/5): Charming Traditional Cornwall! - Wonderful fisherman's cottage a stones throw from the harbour. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, helpful hosts with clear instructions. A perfect last minute find for the Shanty Festival. Would certainly return here. The stairs are very steep - obviously for a traditional Cornish cottage this is how they were built. Not a huge problem if you take your time coming down, and hang on tight to the bannister, but someone with severely reduced mobility would struggle.
- Linda (2/5): Very poor -
- Jill (6/5): Handy for shops and the harbour with parking opposite. - The property is very close to the harbour, shops and pubs/restaurants, right in the village centre. The property was smaller than expected and rather cramped for 3 friends travelling together. Free overnight parking was a bonus.
- Jo (5/5): A great pity that the cleaning was below standard considering we were charged £90 for cleaning servi - Location great. Central Village car park all but opposite. Crockery & cutlery not clean, window catches not working, less than adequate cleanliness, iced up freezer could have caused fire, rotting butter sitting in box above refrigerator, unclean rubbish container.
- Brenda (2/5): No good for poor disability - It was clean tidy and the location was good To many stairs, mum has had difficulty in going up them not recomended for disabled person..
I think it should state that this place is not recommended for poor mobility.
We struggled to get her up one flight of stairs let alone two
- Julia (8/5): Very good -
- Mchugh7 (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (8/5): We all had a lovely time and enjoyed the holiday. Beautiful place - I liked the area and the features of the property. The parking outside as we couldn’t get a space outside and the car park down the road it was hard to get a space and another car park would be charging a lot overnight. The kitchen tap was extremely hot.
- Erica (9/5): Great location, great property with everything needed for a great cottage stay. - An outside areas would have been a bonus but with Mevagissey Harbour a few steps from your doorstep we coped!!
- Martijn (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathan (9/5): Very pleasant - Well located and comfortable I suggest the combination lock below the key safe is removed, as it is somewhat confusing.
- Alexandra (8/5): Lovely stay in the perfect location 👌 - Location and had everything we needed The security lights being on 24/7. I understand that may be necessary for H&S reasons but was rather annoying!
- Steve (6/5): Pleasant - Superb location 2 minutes walk from the harbour, shops and restaurants The shower was pretty much unusable, alternating between freezing cold and scalding hot despite trying everything.
- Roger (8/5): Very good - Comfortable cottage in the centre of Mevagissey No dislikes
- Lisa (7/5): We had a lovely stay and overall we were comfortable although spent most of our time in the top bedroom as we didn’t fin - The location and the top bedroom. Very comfy beds. The carpets looked like they needed a good clean. It felt a little tired in places with the walls and carpets.
The living space was very dark and smaller than we expected.
- Andrzej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janie (10/5): Bloomin fantastic - We loved everything about the cottage There was nothing we didntline
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay, perfect location with a 2 minute walk to the harbour.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): We will return - Well equipped , warm , and peaceful
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -

- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (8/5): Lovely location - Great location.
Small house but very well presented
Very comfortable visit The top bunk was very close to the ceiling which took a bit of maneuvering to get in and out of. It was just about manageable for a short adult.
- Tamsin (8/5): Great cottage for a short stay - Very clean and well equipped cottage, in a perfect location a stone’s throw from the shops/harbour. The sofa and armchairs were small and not very comfortable, would really benefit from changing these.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Very good
- Kirsty (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (8/5): Suited us perfectly for a short stay away as a family. - Great location and sweet little house.
- Donna (7/5): Good -
- Tim (9/5): great -
- Stephen (10/5): very enjoyable - perfect location the furniture could be more comfortable
- Mark (6/5): Great location, nice cottage but needs some attention. - The location. Upon arrival, below the key box, the combination was set to the code to open the key box, security issue? The cottage is a bit tired, needs re decorating. The duvet cover on the double bed was ripped. The light above the bunk beds flickered badly and we couldn’t use it. The kitchen table extension flaps sloped downwards making it difficult to put a plate of food on. The kitchen table chairs were stained and very wobbly to sit on.
- Katherine (9/5): A great little cottage ideally situated in the heart of the village yet quiet. It was very clean and well equipped. Good - The location was brilliant. Only 2 mins from the harbour and a car park just up the road. Good communication. No hairdryer but I knew that in advance!
- Nadine (9/5): Superb - very nice, clean and confortable house when you travel with two kids. It has all what you need and us very cosy.
- Michele (5/5): A lovely home for an adult couple but very cramped for 4 adults. - proximity
master bedroom
linen was very clean The second bedroom was not suitable for 2 adults as the bunk beds were very difficult to access particularly the top bunk. There was was no soap in the bathroom.
We had to strip the beds at the end of our stay which we have not had to do before.
- John (8/5): We booked a place which exceeded our expectations, - The location was great, there is a little short parking area opposite the house; It was right in the centre to all amenities and long stay parking,The house is a old fishermans small house but what Chris has done renovating it is wonderful, clean tidy and a wonderful feel of character well done,Also on arrival there was a botlle of wine a great touch thank you.
- Stephen (10/5): very enjoyable -
- Nick (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage in great position Toilet continually running in pan slightly annoying especially at night
