- Guest (5/5): You get what you pay - The price was good, I just needed a place to sleep and I paid £70 the night for the room.
You get a free breakfast drink The room is that, just 4 walls with some beds, there’s no kettle in the room, no towels are provided, the walls are paper thin and the mattresses are either hard as the floor or lumpy
- Scott (9/5): -
- Porter (10/5): Great little gem - Staff were really friendly
- Yolanda (7/5): Correcto calidad-precio - La habitación correcta calidad precio, pero esperabamos algo mejor. Cenamos y la comida buena. Cerveza muy buena.
- Catherine (10/5): What a great budget option for a family group - As a budget option had no idea what to expect. Had no idea what breakfast options might be… was pleased to find a cafe open at 9am Sunday morning for bacon/ sausage butties and a coffee.
We were in a barn a room for our family and the other rooms occupied by other family. No noise what so ever from anyone either night or morning. All pleasant families. Everyone had an open pigeon hole to sleep in which was great to keep out any light in and couple in the open for more claustrophobic or perhaps less agile folks. Quite high so I didn’t feel boxed in.
Wasn’t sure what linen provided meant and was pleased it meant clean sheets duvet and pillow. More info on facilities: I wasn’t clear if there was going to be any breakfast options eg a cafe ( there was!) or whether needed to bring stuff to cook in a kitchen - (there isnt a kitchen or fridge)
I wasn’t sure if ‘linen provided’meant just a sheet or that would be a made bed ( it was clean bed but no towels)

- Jamesdavis01 (1/5): - I think a concentration camp would have better facilities, its bare bare basics and ladders to get to the bunks are quite dangerous and offer no safe way to thrm, how an accident has not happened yet I dont know
- Sally (5/5): Was ok - Location was great
Lots to do nearby and very local to supermarkets shops etc
Staff that we did see were very polite and friendly.
View was lovely. Room wasn't great. Could do with upgrading. Mattresses were uncomfortable.
No kitchen no fridge no table and chairs
Luckily I read some reviews before going and took chairs etc with us.
But the smell from the walk in shower/wet room/toilet was awful. Plumbing isn't good.
- Katrien (7/5): Heel basic - Prijs-kwaliteit was erg goed. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Er was geen winkeltje om eten te kopen, en ook het restaurant was gesloten. De bedden waren ook stoffig.
- Julian (3/5): -
- Sam (7/5): Means to an end - Location The room we had wasn’t very clean.
- Misha (5/5): It was good but needs to be bleached and sanitized regularly! - Excellent location. Excellent price. The outdoors and the whole park was brilliant! The bathroom was so dirty! I had to go to Asda, buy supplies and clean it but the water never drained so just pooled. Every time you went to the loo, there was just a pool of water at your feet so we had to use towels to mop this up daily! There wasn't a brush to wash it all away and when we asked at reception - they were no help.
Black mould in the bathroom but I had removed it all by cleaning it thoroughly as I had my 3 children with me. No rubber mats or bathroom carpets so water trailed into the room. Flies in the room were endless. To get into and out of the bunks was so uncomfortable. The mattresses were dirty... so, it did beg the question if the bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned in 6 months - how often is the rest of the room wiped down and sanitized?
To book the swimming activities, you need shoes on but this isn't stated so we had to go out and buy an extra pair.

- Paul (8/5): - Cabin was cosy and fun for the kids, there were a lot of spider webs on the underside of the bunk beds which freaked my son out as he hates spiders. Overall it’s a nice quiet and relaxing place for a break. We enjoyed roughing it by cooking on a small stove. The maintenance guys were very helpful for retrieving a shuttlecock we hit on the roof. Would definitely stay again.
- Ryze (8/5): Good stay everybody was allocated nicely looking to family needs. - Very nice stay with family we were 14 of us had 2 Rooms , all of us enjoyed our stay plenty of shopping areas within 6 minutes If we had WiFi it would have been excellent.
- Anita (3/5): - Myself and 2 granddaughters were put in a lodge with 14 bunk beds. Presumably for schools etc. We had to choose the best 3 pillows and duvets from 14. 14 hooks and 3 unappealing conference chairs were available to sit on.
Also if you have a low slung car be prepared for bad potholes to get to the accommodation. My heat shield on my exhaust came undone!
If a small family staying, choose an adventure lodge as these appear to get better reviews.

- Anna (7/5): Convenient, friendly, budget accommodation. - Staff were very friendly, and despite our late evening arrival made us very welcome. Sleeping pods in the rooms were a good idea. Showers were nice and warm. Though bedding was provided, I hadn't been realised that we needed to bring our own towels. Although the restaurant was closed, there was nowhere to prepare or store any food, or tables to use to eat inside. The restaurant was closed, and no activities were available which was a shame, but staff gave us information about where to buy local food/local activity companies.
- Greta (9/5): - Location (10min drive to the beach), plenty of outdoor attractions suitable for active families, super friendly staff. Very affordable cost and plenty of space in the room. No table or wardrobe/luggage space in the room, poor plumbing (unpleasant smell coming from shower water drain) and poor breakfast. There is no reason to charge £4 for a bap and sausage, when there's literally nothing else in it (no butter, egg, cheese, veg or salad).

- Guest (2/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): fine for a short no frills stay with young children - basic but clean and warm na
- tegan (7/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): Group motorcycle trip - Perfect for our trip Clean and functional accommodation
- Sandra (7/5): Fun adventures, but accommodation better suited to groups or camping than a family bunkroom - The Adventure Lodge is a fun place, with friendly staff. The bunk rooms are comfortable, the beds are relative spacious for bunks and it useful having an en suite bathroom.
The activity centre is excellent, the assault course is a lot of fun and the staff were fantastic with my child, ensuring he had fun in a safe and brave way. It is not clear on the information provided but there is no on site cooking facility or cafe. An on site dining hall provides only for pre-booked school groups, and so as a family, it meant a series of expensive trips out for food. There is also no on site storage for food, so no fridge to put milk in, for example. It is well-set up for those with campervans, or those travelling as part of a school or other group, but less useful for families using the bunk rooms. There is also no seating in the rooms, only the beds, which made it slightly more difficult to spend a wet afternoon indoors.

- Shakir (8/5): Definitely will be visiting again this summer - Location, price No kitchen area or any food shops near by
- Jacso-Sule (7/5): Mini Family Holiday - We enjoyed all the activities (Adventure Day Pass and Kayaking). All the staff were helpful and friendly. They kindly moved all our activities to the following days due to raining heavily all day. Not much food available onsite, however there is a great place to eat breakfast at Bideford Brewers Fayre (kids eat for free) and there are plenty of places to eat dinner.
The room had no wardrobe or a table or a chair. It was extremely basic and wasn't very clean.
- Katrina (4/5): Was ok for the childen to stay on, be better if there was cooking facilities and maybe a park on site for the childen if - It was ideal for the chidden as they liked the bunk bed lay out. It had no cooking facilities, tables or chairs inside the rooms, so even if you taken you own cooking facility there was nothing to cook or prep your meals on, only beds to lay on.
- Craig (6/5): Bargain price but comes at a cost! - If you want a no thrills family getaway then this is the place for you. The room was very basic with no amenities apart from 2 showers and a separate toilet with a wash basin which was located in the main room. The beds consisted of bunk style beds which were built into the walls and looked really cool if not very dusty. Bed linen was provided which was clean but the duvets and pillows could have been replaced as we're showing signs of age. It is advertised as having a cafe and a shop for buying essentials but we were there 3 days and didn't see it open once. So bring your own food and supplies. There is also nothing to cook with in the rooms so bring a camping cooked if you want to cook. If we had known the shop and the cafe wasn't open we would have prepared a bit more. We only paid £60 per night for the stay so it was cheap but the lack of any mod cons did t really warrant paying anymore.
- Compoint Grellée (5/5): - Le personnel est accueillant et le lieu est calme. La chambre et les équipements n’était pas propre. Le logement convient plus à des groupes scolaires que des familles …
- Donna (8/5): Great service and value for money - Fantastic service, facilities and concept. Good location. Excellent value for money. Helpful and friendly staff.
- Rob (8/5): -
- SWIFT (8/5): Great values for a one night stop. - Great value accommodation Chairs and a table within the accommodation would have been a welcome addition, there was plenty of space for one.
- Tania (9/5): Great value for money, spotlessly clean, fantastic location - Great value for money very spacious. No table or chairs
- Mark (10/5): -
- Christian (10/5): Great. -
- Mosleh (10/5): We enjoyed our stay we went with big families of 30 -
- j (8/5): Very good value large family accommodation - Safe location for children. plenty of activities No table or chair in the room! Fortunately I did bring my own!

- Peter (7/5): Zum schlafen ausreichend.
- Jonathan (9/5): Great value bunk house. Made a nice change from camping. - Clean and tidy, comfortable beds, No kettle or chairs to sit down . Lay on bed or nothing unless you take your own camping chairs.
- Nikki (9/5): - The location and the relaxing atmosphere. Great place for the kids to run around and play. We didnt have chance to join in the onsite activities. The lodge was clean and quiet. If this was on our door step we would be there on a regular basis, unfortunatley we live over 250 miles away. No hot water coming from the bathroom sink, but we managed fine with our kettle.
- Apurva (1/5): Very cheap hostel, ruined our weekend. - Nothing It's like a very cheap hostel, 10 small box beds in one room. You need to make your own beds and then remove all bedding and put it out for wash. Open metal bin inside the room which you need to empty. Very dirty room and bed linens. No shower gel or towels, no kettle etc. Just one plain empty room which is very dirty. We were getting premier inn for half the cost but unfortunately choose this.
- Gemma (8/5): Great location if visiting the big sheep or looking for activities with older children or groups. - Spacious rooms, very reasonable but it is a more like a school dormitory rather than a family bunk. Hot showers and friendly staff. No kitchen - no fridge for any supplies.
- Zeeshan (5/5): Was good value for money but not a great experience. - Staff was very friendly and supportive.
Location is good. Very close to beach and Bideford town centre. Had to make our own beds (bedsheets, pillow n duvet covers). Was not expecting that. Had to change room as it was smelling. So did the bed making exercise twice. The next room had a broken lock on bathroom door which was fixed next day once reported.
- Lucy (9/5): Peaceful stay and great location - I was a little dubious booking this as we were a family of 7 in one room, but it was a last minute idea and I was pleasantly surprised! The value for money was brilliant and the facilities were basic but exactly what you would need for a comfortable stay as we were out the majority of the time and only really slept/showered here. It was peaceful and quiet and couldn’t really fault the place. Staff were lovely and we would stay here again. The location was great and we visited many places as well as all the stuff to do on site. The shop didn’t seem open on site and the cafe I couldn’t tell if it was actually open. Also, not even a bad thing but having to put all the bedding on each bed after a long drive for 7 of us was the last thing I wanted to do!! 😂 but it was laid out neatly and easy enough so not really a bad thing!
- Keely (4/5): I do not think it’s good value for money if you only use the accommodation. Mould in bathroom, dirty floors on arrival, - Nice to have a cafe on site to go to for lunch. Good range of activities if you want to do them. Noisy neighbours the whole time we were there - got a free activity to do after the first awful night but every night was the same and I gave up complaining. The room smelt weird, the floors were dirty when we arrived and the bathroom had a fair few bits of mould that need attention. The room gets very stuffy.
- leen (6/5): - Location
- Udawattage (9/5): - Value for money was great
Liked the location Room wasn't clean enough, dusty in bed rooms. Bathroom water didn't drain properly
Bedding wasn't done

- Tamsin (9/5): Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend for families or groups. - Friendly staff, brilliant room. The kids absolutely loved the bunks and wallpaper. Lovely outdoor space. Really close to lots of places. Could do with a cheap chair in the room.
- Anna (10/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): - Was lovely, remote & quiet. Perfect if you want a cheap little get away smack bang between Devon & Cornwall, so very easy to drive to everywhere around. Lots to do around the site too, my partner & son did the high ropes, climbing wall & assault course and absolutely loved it! The staff were exceptional, very responsive to any issues & lovely people
- Amber (10/5): -
- GHULAM (10/5): - A great cheap and cheerful location to stop over or use as base for the area.
- Tracey (8/5): Lovely break. Highly recommend for families - Was a great base to head off and do activities during the day. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help you. Was lovely and peaceful, sitting on the decking listening to the sheep and ducks was just lovely. Needs a fan in the rooms. Was rather stuffy.
- Emma (10/5): Amazing family holiday - It was everything we needed for a base and the bed were very comfortable abd it was very quiet at night so relax and sleep. Lots of activities available if needed. Even suitable for little children too. Rooms were very hot and stuffy
- Paul (10/5): - The stay was great. But under the mattresses needed cleaning. Not sure if they had ever been lifted.
Staff excellent. But honestly could do with a mini fridge in the lakeside lodges.
- Oleksandr (9/5): - Все відповідає опису. Чисто. Відсутність рушника. При отриманні чистої постільної білизни, не було би великої проблеми додати рушник.

- Alan (10/5): - The property was ideal for our needs and the staff were friendly and helpful.
However, the booking experience through Expedia was abysmal.
We were told the property was unavailable, which was untrue.
We were offered an alternative of a 3-bed property which supposedly had 6 double beds.
Photos on the Expedia website show this is also untrue.
- Stuart (10/5): - We stayed in a cabin. Peaceful and quiet outside on the decking but the other 2 neighbouring cabins where vacant so cant say that you wont get noisy neighbours on your visit. Cabin has 10 single beds and bathroom with hot shower. Some of the beds where made up with fresh sheets, duvet and pillows. Electric plug sockets dotted around. Lovely, clean, simple place to sleep and shower. Mattresses are also really comfy. Would definately book again.
