Malam terakhir saya di nepal terasa amat sempurna

Matteo Luciano (5/5): Not the best customer service. - Definitely the guy was super nice I arrived late at night and he woke up and open the door for me. I got food poisoning somewhere else, i couldn't eat so I asked just for two bananas to try and get some potassium, well the girl at first ignore me the whole time then offered me a lemon ginger tea, I couldn't drink so I said no but she insisted so I took it, I ended up paying for a tea which I didn't drink and was supposed to be offered and two banana, not only that she didn't have the exact change so at the check out I've been asked to pay 5 rupees more. Now it's not about the money of course but the way of handling a sick customer was terrible. The place is ok but for the same price or little more you get a way better place.

Jakub (1/5): Think twice, read reviews. - I would not recommend to stay unless you're on tight budget. The price is the only advantage. Don't expect much. No towels provided, old hard bed, slow wifi, dirty bathroom, no service. I traveled around the world, always on budget. It's not a luxury if you expect basic courtesy and friendly attitude as a customer. That's called hospitality. A lot of noise from the street, the room is right next to the front entrance and reception. You can hear everything going all day around. No chill here. See pics. We had an issue, the booking & price was refering to attached bathroom. There is none. Instead of an compenzation we encountered EGO-friendly owner who don't care about you/us-customers. He called me cheap and got arrogant atitude. Very sad story here. In addition they cancelled my booking at the end of our stay for no reason. The auto message was due to "not showing up". Property of course not responding. Staff unable to help. We stayed as per booking and payd full price in cash at the reception. Not nice again. We certainly didn't feel welcome here. Please consider before booking 🙏

Chaneliere (10/5): Exceptional - Probably the best hostel that you can get for this price. Despite its good location, it is a great space of peace in the chaos of thamel. The dorms are ok - it depends of the people that are here, like all of them-, but the rooms are clean and you'll have your little space. But what really highlight this establishment is the community and communal spaces : you have a good space to chill outside of the rooms, that you can use for pretty much everything you want, and my favorite part - the restaurant, where they serve great food for a very reasonable price, and it is located on the last floor, so you'll have a really great view on the cities lights and a fair bit of trees, wich is definitely enjoyable Now come the best part : the people. The staff is really helpful, nice, down to help, flexible... You name it. They are able to speak a pretty good english as well, and they're definitely enjoyable to be around. What i really preferred tho is the community : i dont know if it a regular occurrence, but on the several nights that i have been to the restaurant, (wich is definitely not as crowded as it should be), i was with little groups of teenagers that were playing/singing along/listening to really good songs, sometimes with a guitar, and they were really talented. If you're in that field and you have the ability, please make them famous worldwide as soon as possible ! Overall, it's an amazing hostel and i recommend you to at least pay it a visit !

And most of all the owner and the staff are the best. They were really nice and helpful with everything. We made friends, shared experiences and loved every second. Leaving was very hard,we kept postponing. We fell in love of Kathmandu and we fell in love with this place, a home in Nepal now.

I kept and will keep coming back to this place whenever I'm in Kathmandu. It's also a good place to meet other backpackers and the location is central in Thamel but at the same time very quiet without any noise from the streets.

Do not book it just because of the low rates. I checked in on the same day and had to check out the same day and find another hostel. I told them about the issue, and they changed my bed, but there were even more bedbugs on the new bed. The whole hostel is dirty. Do not come to this hostel. Arogya Hostel is a very bad hostel. There are a lot of bedbugs on every bed. Do not book it just because of the low rates. I checked in on the same day and had to check out the same day and find another hostel. I told them about the issue, and they changed my bed, but there were even more bedbugs on the new bed. The whole hostel is dirty. Do not come to this hostel.

Bettina (8/5): Good place to stay - Everyone was really nice. The breakfast was delicious and for a good price. It’s a good place to stay, the location is good. We were in the private room and was perfect, the shared bathroom was ok. I would go back! At night it was really noisy.

Carla (9/5): Would stay again! - Clean and comfortable beds with individual lights and power outlets and a privacy curtain on each bed. Lockers available in the dorm. Good location next to Thamel and near many restaurants and shops. Nice common areas to hang out in. Really hot water in the shower. Staff were friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. The wifi barely worked inside the dorm. The plumbing was terrible, the water in the sink often wouldn't drain and the toilet didn't flush very well. They lock the front gate at night and there are no staff around at that time so if you need to leave the hostel in the early hours of the morning before sunrise to go on a trek you might have to climb over the wall to get out like I did.

They do an amazing ginger honey tea! i love how they took care of me. The beds are super confortable, the best for resting, sleeping and being calm. They have hot shower and also a menú with a lot of things to eat. Wonderful ! I think it's a lovely place.
