Guest Reviews
- Christoph (9/5): - Great hosts who helped with organizing things like pickup from the main park gate (where the bus from Arusha to Loliondo dropped us), a drive to the lake and a hike up the volcano.
Food with vegetarian and gluten-free options is available.
- Mikhail (7/5): -
- Filippo (10/5): - Ottimo posto. Bellisima vista. Proprietario e staff gentilissimi e sempre disponibili.
- Tamas (10/5): - We had a great time in Lake Natron Maasai Guesthouse, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Strongly recommend to everyone.
- Susan (7/5): Good - Nice garden and setting. Friendly staff, very helpful dealing with a difficult situation with a very poor rental car. Generous sharing of insight into the Maasai community. First room needs attention with leaking toilet, shower over toilet is messy and impractical. No hot water in the 2 rooms we stayed in.
- Demba (9/5): Amazing stay ! - Miranda is an amazing host, is very kind, caring and very helpful, she gave us a lot of information on the surroundings and was so very accommodating when it came to meals, nights and all. Absolutely worth the budget and we are very grateful to have met her. Showers are a bit rough, not much pressure and sometimes there was no water for some time but I think it could be because we came in off season and it hadn't rained in a long time
- Herve (7/5): A memorable stay in a wonderful location, though slightly overshadowed by the meal issue - The view from some guesthouse rooms to nearby lake Natron is just wonderful
The host and the staff are very friendly
The rooms are spacious and clean
room fees are very reasonable (22$/person/night)
The breakfast is very correct The guesthouse is totally isolated. It is sure part of the fun, but needs to be anticipated
The water supply is erratic . Sometimes there is not water to the tap. This can be explained by the fact that water supply comes from a pipe connected to a far away waterfall
There are no restaurants in the surrounding area. The guest house offers meals for a flat fee of 15$ per person while the room fee is 22$ per person. This seems a little bit like a trap and I wish they would change this
Need to be aware of scorpions. they leave in this area and we have seen one that seemed to be a Parabuthus pallidus. Wear closed shoes and use a torch at night
- Best (8/5): Best place to stay in Lake Natron - Location and environment was superb good The team was amazing
- Patricia (8/5): Great trip in the wilderness near Lake Natron - Really kind and helpful owners. Went the extra mile to make my stay enjoyable. Lots of delicious food. Great value for money.
Very interesting area. Loved meeting some of the local people. Very hot area
- David (2/5): Dangerous, expensive, not worth looking at a bunch of flamingoes. - Miranda was very nice and polite. The kitten was the highlight of our night. No toilet paper
Shower on toilet and no towels to dry it off if you need to sit.
Short bed so my head hit metal headboard and footboard.
Dirty room.
Ants everywhere.
Mosquito heven.
Cracks and large gaps in ceiling, doors and window frames makes it easy for bugs to get in.
Bugs coming out of drains and sink.
No shampoo.
Very loud fan on ceiling on top of bed that will dry your eyes and throat out. No slow speed control so it blasts very fast.
Lots of power outages 1 night= 7-9 power outages
No wi-fi internet at night.
Outside
Misquotes again lol
Men sleeping all around property. In cars, on Bench under gazebo, on porch where chairs are…. Very awkward.
Music and thumping bass all night. Loud and close in the driveway. Couldn’t sleep
Gots and cow bells at 5:00am which I don’t mind but some might.
$80 US Fee PP to access gate. That’s why you can’t cancel this reservation. We would have. $29pp for park reservation $39 pp for animal welfare and $10 vehicle fee
Poor communication - might have been the app but didn’t respond to emails either. $15 dinner consists of vegetables and French fries.
On the way out Maasai children threw a stones and shattered the back glass of our rental car as well as another tourist safari vehicle. 2 cars, 2 broken windows.
- Samuel (5/5): Passable - Hidden fees
- Katharina (1/5): 100% not to recommend! - The accomodation is totally overprieced for what they is delivering. First the room wasn´t clean, old smashed mosquitos and spots on the walls, dead flies & mosquitos on the mosquito net above the bed. A mosquito net was only at the bathroom window and not at the living room window, so numerous mosquitos were entering and a big swarm was accumulating at the bathroom. Room equipment was pretty basic and could be renewed. The pool was full of stuff and not neat and tidy. Breakfast was fruits, toast, katchoori, madasi and sausages. The accomondation is around 1 hour by foot away from Lake Natron. Also I booked the room for less money via booking and later they charged me more cash.
- Emma (9/5): Superb - The staff at Lake Natron Maasai guesthouse cannot do enough to help you, their service is truly a cut above the rest. Breakfast was enormous and we also got an unexpected welcome drink and towel! This is a very expensive area to stay in.
