Staff were friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make your stay relaxed. Little garden area and pool outside the hotel was a lovely bonus and great place to relax after a busy day seeing all the sights. Nothing not to like.....everything was perfect 😊

Accueil parfait, personnel au top, excellent petit déjeuner à la carte, un service vraiment 5 étoiles : petites attentions, cadeau pour la St Valentin….Très bon massage au Spa, bref un hôtel remarquable, en plus nous avons eu la chance d’être surclassé ! Je recommande vivement ! Le restaurant ( service ou cuisine ? ) fait un peu amateur par rapport à la qualité du reste des prestations de l’hôtel : au dîner, plat oublié ! Mon épouse n’a pas eu son plat principal, et au petit-déjeuner pareil, obligé de relancer plusieurs fois…. L’hôtel étant une ancienne savonnerie, la déco dans les chambres y fait référence, du coup, l’odeur de savon assez présente peut gêner certains.

The location for us was perfect, near cool restaurants and bars in neighbouring areas. Nothing was too far of a walk, but also taxis ( Uber ) were very reasonably priced. The hotel setting was perfect, having the courtyard to relax after a busy day exploring, with a heated little plunge pool, and a slightly bigger pool ( if you are daring to have a little swim during the cooler month of May ), followed by a steam room in the spa area. We could have easily stayed here longer, and didn’t want to come home. We loved Porto and we loved this hotel.

The staff couldn’t be more helpful and were genuinely lovely. Our room/mini apartment was comfortable, clean, had an amazing shower, soft bedsheets, blackout curtains- we slept so well! Breakfasts were delicious. The ladies in the spa gave us such brilliant massages, we had another before we checked out! All in all - so much better than we hoped for and we’d love to return. The jacuzzi was a lovely temperature but wasn’t very bubbly, so may need some maintenance. It was too cold for us to try a swim in the pool.

Ganz toller Service alle mega nett. Man versucht hier wirklich dem Gast alle wünsche zu erfüllen.Jeder wirkt motiviert, junges Team.Hotel hat 28 Zimmer dafür ist der Pool und der Innenhof aber nicht ausgelegt, sollten mal ein paar mehr die Anlage benutzen. TV hatte kein Netzwerkanschluss bzw war nicht möglich sich mit dem Handy zu verbinden.Das Zimmer war über 2 Etagen. Für Koffer ist unten kein Platz. Do muss mann sie durch eine enge Wendeltreppe hoch tragen. Oben hat es nur ein paar Bügel , kein Schrank nichts. Zu gut wie keine Ablage im Bad . Der Jaccuzzi ist eigentlich nur eine große Badewanne ohne wirkliche Düsen.

- alexandra (10/5): Ausgezeichnetes Hotel - Top Personal, Service und Frühstück - Das Personal, die Grösse der Suite, das ausgezeichnete Essen (Frühstück sowie Abendessen) und der bezaubernde Garten waren ausgezeichnet. Das Frühstück ist a la Carte, was uns sehr entspricht. Man kann so viel bestellen wie man möchte. Man merkt, dass hochwertige Produkte verarbeitet werden. Der Stil des Hotels ist durchdacht, stimmig und sehr ansprechend. Leider kann ich die Suite nicht empfehlen. Diese ist zur Strassenseite, auch wenn keine grosse Feier stattfindet, ist der Lärm von draussen hörbar. Mit Ohropax schlafen war für uns deshalb ein Muss. Ebenfalls dichten die Vorhänge nicht gut ab. Falls wir wiedermal kommen, würden wir definitiv ein Zimmer in den Innenhof nehmen, auch wenn diese kleiner sind. Denn dieser ist wunderschön und die Balkone sind toll.

The room was well appointed and the bathroom was fantastic. The hotel also has a resident cat from their neighbor named Blackey, who we loved! Being able to have breakfast in our room was very nice. That we didn't stay longer.

- David (9/5): This was a top class hotel with top class staff. - From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made us feel like honoured guests. There was a problem with the room that we had reserved, so we were immediately offered a free upgrade to a luxurious suite. The room had every facility that you could require, including tea & coffee making facilities. The bed was so comfortable with the best quality cotton bedclothes. The sauna was fun, although the weather was too cold to use the outside swimming pool. The concierge staff were superb and offered advice about places to visit and eat. The housekeeping and breakfast room staff were equally warm and friendly The only negative point that I can raise is the slowness of service at breakfast, especially for coffee. As I say, the staff were very friendly and I understand that service was busy, but I think that fresh coffee should be available on arrival at the table.

- Stuart (10/5): Tranquil & Comfortable - Saboaria was a little oasis away from the busy city, you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in & the staff are very attentive throughout, helping with anything we needed. It was without a doubt the most comfortable bed we’ve experienced in a hotel. The whole room was immaculately clean, a lot of attention goes into cleanliness at the hotel overall. The room was really well soundproofed, couldn’t hear a single thing once inside, which made it so relaxing. The facilities were also amazing, pool / jacuzzi / steam room available for use at any time. Certainly will be back.

- Robert (10/5): A wonderful hotel with an amazing staff - We loved Torel Saboaria and will stay here whenever we are in Porto. This former soap factory is gorgeous with a beautiful hot tub and pool and a spa where we received much needed massages. It's close to all the Porto highlights but just far enough away from the tourist traps to be relaxing and quiet. The breakfast was delicious as well and the rooms are very comfortable. Best of all is the staff. We have never had kinder or more generous service than what we received at Torel Saboaria. Special appreciation to Thiago and Gabriel for their kind attentiveness and local suggestions, though the entire staff was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Location is perfect - you're within walking distance of most notable places and districts in Porto. Bedrooms are clean and kept to the highest standard, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff are exceptional. Really attentive and helpful. I'd stay here again and again. The pool and spa facilities are also great. Nothing - this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Europe. I have no feedback or anything negative to say!

Excellente literie Petit déjeuner bien mais à améliorer surtout au niveau du service. Jolie salle de petit déjeuner Cet hôtel est en fait une résidence de tourisme classée 5 * qui correspondrait plutôt à un hôtel 3/4* Pas de lobby . Notre chambre en rez de chaussée (numéro 6) était assez sombre avec 2 petites fenêtres et peu d’éclairage. Salle de bains peu pratique, exiguë, difficile d’y poser ses affaires ou d’y accrocher un drap de bains, en outre l’utilisation de la salle d’eau la nuit éclaire obligatoirement la chambre. Pas de coin bureau ni de coiffeuse , ni de fauteuil mais une petite table en marbre et 2 chaises bistrot. Le coin cuisine non équipé d’ustensiles est pratiquement inutilisable et occupe beaucoup de place. Le service du petit déjeuner à la carte propose des produit de qualité mais le service est désorganisé. Les boissons arrivent rapidement mais ensuite il nous a fallu attendre plus de 20 minutes pour recevoir un petit panier avec 4 mini pains. Ceux ci sont distribués avec parcimonie ( 1 mini croissant et 3 mini pains pour 2 personnes) pas de choix de confiture: myrtille uniquement et beurre « fouetté salé »

- Casi_swiss (7/5): Gutes Hotel mit Verbesserungspotenzial - Uns hat das Hotel sehr gut gefallen, es ist an einer sehr ruhigen Lage dennoch sehr zentral, die Metrostation Trindade ist ca.3 Gehminuten entfernt. Das Receptionspersonal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ebenfalls hatte und der abendliche Tee und das Schöggeli bei der Couverture sehr gfreut. Das Servicepersonal bei Frühstück ist überhaupt nicht eingespielt und koordiniert, da macht jeder irgendetwas, was zu langen Wartezeiten führt. Das Frühstück ist a la Carte, für ein 5 Sterne-Hotel jedoch eine sehr kleine Auswahl. Man könnte manches mit kleinen Sachen aufwerten und müsste kein Buffett dafür aufbauen und den a la Carte Service belassen z.B. einem Früchtekorb oder frisches Wasser mit Zitronen oder Obst drin, kleine Kuchengebäcke. Zudem klebte der Fußboden im Speisesaal nach drei Tagen hörbar. Die Matratze war schon sehr durchgelegen.

- Andy Bell (10/5): Absolutely fabulous place to stay. Hotel and restaurant differ slightly though. - This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The standout feature were the hotel staff, who were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The place is kept spotlessly clean and our room was great. A real gem - we will definitely stay again. There were plenty of nice facilities and we especially liked spending some time in the hot tub in the courtyard. While the hotel was basically perfect, the restaurant (which is understand is actually a separate concern/business was a little more hit and miss. The breakfast service was friendly and efficient on 2 of the 3 days and a little rushed/dismissive on the other. The food was generally good but not great - we had 3 breakfasts and one dinner there, plus some lunch snacks one day. Overall, our feeling was that the restaurant did not quite live up to the superb standards of the hotel itself.

- Prof. Dr. Jürgen (10/5): Wir würden wiederkommen und können dieses Stadthotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. - Ein Stadthotel mit viel Stil und einer sehr angenehmen Atmosphäre. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die außergewöhnliche Freundlichkeit und Höflichkeit des gesamten Personals sowie die herzliche und hilfreiche Unterstützung an der Rezeption. Sehr angenehm fanden wir auch, dass es morgens kein Buffet gibt, sondern das Frühstück serviert wird. Auch das hoteleigene Restaurant mit seiner leichten Interpretation traditioneller Küche ist sehr zu empfehlen. Für ein Stadthotel ist es fast wie eine kleine Oase - und dank guter Fenster und Klimaanlage bleibt der übliche Stadtlärm im Zimmer bei geschlossenen Fenstern praktisch draußen. Wir hatten nichts zu bemängeln.

Besonders positiv fanden wir, dass es Frühstück à la carte bis 11 Uhr gab – das ist angenehm entspannt und hebt sich von klassischen Buffets ab. Die Auswahl war sehr fein und qualitativ hochwertig, und alles, was wir probiert haben, hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Wir haben das Frühstück wirklich sehr genossen und würden es jederzeit wieder so buchen. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt durchweg sehr genossen und hatten keinerlei Beanstandungen. Alles war stimmig – wir kommen gerne wieder.

The reception staff (Santiago, Tiago & Inês) were very helpful with recommendations each day. The staff working on the breakfast were fantastic each day. The cleaning staff would make the bed & leave the room spotless each day. Thank you! We booked a Mezzanine room. For older couples, who may have bad knees or get up in the night, the spiral staircase from the bed on the mezzanine to the lower floor would have been difficult. This was recognized by the reception staff and we were allowed to move to a different room.

- Jürgen (10/5): Ein ganzer Blumenstrauß voller schöner Momente - Unser Aufenthalt war ein einziges Erlebnis von Anfang bis Ende! Das Personal ist äußerst zuvorkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist perfekt und liegt weit über gehobenem Standard. Wir hatten eine Flasche Wein zur Begrüßung auf dem Zimmer und anläßlich eines Geburtstages gab es eine besondere Überraschung! Die 2 Wasserflaschen wurden jeden Tag aufgefüllt und am Abend wurde vom Zimmerservice der Tee vorbereitet und die Vorhänge zugezogen. Am "Frauentag" gab es eine Blume für jede Frau. Die Aussenanlage ist klein, aber fein. Wir hatten ein Zimmer-Upgrade bekommen :-) ! Das Personal an der Rezeption ist sehr hilfsbereit und bietet Reservierungen, Ausflugstipps und vieles mehr. Sie nehmen sich viel Zeit und haben immer ein Extra-Lächeln übrig. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt: zur Metro-Station und zur Bushaltestelle sind es 3 Minuten zu Fuß. Das ganze Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet.
