- Johanna (5/5): - Spacious apartment. Very central. There was Shampoo, Coffee and Tee :) the water turnen hot very fast. The landlord was realy quick making an appointment with contraktors. There are mold spots in the kitchen. The stovetop takes a very long time to heat up. It’s equipped with the basics—but a few things are missing (for more than one person).
The air conditioning didn’t work right away, which wasn’t our fault (the electricians confirmed this). The power went out several times, even though not many appliances were running. The water heater and plumbing system are very loud, and the doors creak. There’s an active woodworm in the front door. When we contacted the landlord about the issues, we felt as though we were to blame.
In front of the balcony is an old well that you can hear even with the windows closed. The streets smell unpleasant, but the cats are to blame for that—still, good to know.
- Andreea (9/5): - The location is great, love the sea view, it's quiet, and it's cozy. Mold

- Luisa (2/5): - Aria condizionata e vista dalle finestre.
- patrice (9/5): Bonne adresse - Bon emplacement,
- Norbi (9/5): Superb -
- Markus (10/5): Sweet and very quiet apartment in a perfect location. - This sweet apartment is located in the heart of Chianalea, only a few steps away from all the lovely restaurants, bars, etc. However, although very closeby, it is extremely quiet, we always kept the windows open at night, often not a sound to be heard. From the bedroom and the balcony you see the sea, overlooking the lower houses. After a few days there ( we actually stayed 6 nights ) the wind had picked up, so we could listen to the waves. The main beach is a 10 - 15 min walk away, you can choose to walk past the little harbour or, if you don´t mind steps, take a shortcut through the village. Scilla is beautiful and at the time we were there, very few visitors. Nothing, except that after 6 days it was time to go back home.
- Maciej (9/5): Superb - The apartment has the best location, in the heart of the amazing Chianalea, with sea views at a great price! The apartment is in an old house leaning against a cliff in a southern climate right by the sea, so there will always be damp and this is to be expected
The owner made an effort, the bathroom has been repainted - we had no peeling paint. The owner was very friendly and helpful, we were able to leave our luggage in the early hours. Basic cosmetic accessories, towels and coffee from capsules, washing machine and detergents provided. I recommend. Great value for money! N/a
- James (9/5): Simple place with lovely view - Lovely view from both rooms, one with little balcony. Some people might want a television?
- Giedrys (10/5): Exceptional - Great location in an old town, amazing view from the balcony.short walk to a restaurants and beach.Simple appartment, got everything you need
- Sylvia (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Great little apartment with everything you need, great location close to everything
- Jennifer (8/5): The location can’t be beat. Loved every minute. - The location was especially amazing, it couldn’t have been better. Easy to find and access but also private and perfectly tucked away. Basic amenities were fine. Loved having a washing machine to use and the hanging rack on the balcony for drying. The shower doors are difficult and the shower itself is a bit uncomfortable because it’s so small. It leaks quite a lot from the corner under the sink. Only two rolls of toilet paper were provided for a week-long stay. I travelled alone and even by myself, the bed was very squeaky and loud every time I rolled over, waking me from sleep.
- Travis123 (7/5): Good enough for not demanding - There's a kitchenette where you can boil the water and cook. It's not a very fresh place, but good price/value ratio.
- Debra (9/5): Pleasantly surprised; Terrific!. - The apartment exceeded our expectations. The large bedroom has a king bed with a very firm mattress. The living room has a sofa bed, which we didn't use, so we can't comment on that. Both rooms have a/c units. There are great views over the sea from both rooms and we spent a lot of time on the balcony, relaxing and enjoying the view. We enjoyed watching the locals cleaning their fish below us in the 400 year old fountain of lions. Truly an authentic Italian fishing village experience. The area was very quiet, but it it was off-season. Maybe it is different during summer months. It is about a 20-minute, fairly flat and scenic walk from the train station, keeping to the road through the bridge below the castle. We really appreciated that the owner left us coffee, water, soap, and extra toilet paper. The elevator to the upper town of Scilla was out of order, and there we're no open grocery stores in Chianalea or the lower town of Scilla. We were able to buy drinks and milk for coffee from restaurants and the gift shop near the apartment. As mentioned in other reviews, there are steps to the apartment, about 50 of them, and the bathroom could use a little cosmetic work to address the peeling paint. However, peeling paint and lots of steps are typical in southern Italy. The shower was great. We had everything we needed for our short stay. We will be back soon, I hope. We will make sure to bring more supplies next time because, based on our past experiences across Italy, the elevator is probably often out of order and it's a long steep walk up to a market. There is probably a bus to the upper town, but we didn't find it and we were only there for 2 nights. In season, I'm sure there are other transport options between the upper and lower town. The mattress was too firm for us, but that's just a personal preference. I think most people prefer a very firm mattress.
- Anaïs (8/5): Great! - The views is amazing and the appartement has all the necessities. Great location. Good place for the price.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariana (10/5): Exceptional - self check in, large bed a bit hard to find
- Eva-marlene (7/5): Good - Simple accommodation with a splendid view over the sea and close to restaurants, bars, cafes. It was perfect for our brief stay. There's an equipped kitchen (with the basics), we appreciated the coffee! We were unlucky that construction work upstairs started early in the morning on the day we departed. You can also hear some noise from the main village street, so perhaps not the best place for an early night (at least not during tourist season in summer).
- Ella (7/5): Good -
- Hannah (8/5): Very good - Location, view, value for money There was no kettle or tea cups.Flaky paint over the shower in the bathroom.
