- Watthanaworawit (7/5): Good - livingtel is on the 6th floor but there's elevator and there's many restaurants operate at night, also has cu,gs25 nearby. bus stop is in front of the building and 5min walk to tanhyun subway station. The room is hot in summer season, only a small fan inside and air conditioner seems not working.
- Mohammed (8/5): Good value for money. - Good price. Small and clean room. You get what you have paid for. The bathroom was clean, but no toilet rolls provided in the stall. Had to take it from the common place (how much you need). That sucks!
- Bhattarai (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ali (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (1/5): Dirty, uncomfortable and run by an unscrupulous operator. - Location This place is unfit for human inhabitation. The owner does not tell you that your room is internal and has no window, no air con and no ventilation whatsoever - not even an electric fan. Unsurprisingly, the room quickly became hot and stuffy and deprived of oxygen. I noticed other guests in their rooms with their doors open - probably also due to the total lack of ventilation. The bed made a nasty crackling noise because the mattress was wrapped in plastic. My room was cheaply furnished and even narrower than those depicted in the owner's photos. The mini-fridge made a constant "buzzing" noise which was so annoying I ended up switching it off at the socket. The toilets were splattered with excrement and there was no hot water, soap or any means of drying hands. Access to the shower room meant passing through the kitchen and only a tiny disposable hand towel was provided. Guests really need to bring their own towel. I booked five nights but left after one because I could not sleep without any air in that hot, stuffy room. I asked for a 50% refund but the owner flatly refused and was clearly unrepentant about the providing such poor quality accommodation.
- Nur (10/5): Really quiet, really clean. Well worth the price. - The goshiwon is really quiet and clean. And other tenants are also really respectful of the quiet rule. It's easy to come back to the room and relax after a day of walking around. Only thing you might hear is hurried footsteps but all in all, everyone keeps it down.
In terms of the room itself, there's a single bed with thick cozy blanket and firm pillow, a small fridge (I did not use), a small fan, hanging closet, and simple organizer. If you're not used to thin mattress, you might not like it. But no one goes to goshiwon for luxury, so~ The weather during my stay mid-May 2025 really helps keep everything cold, so one singular small fan is enough to get air circulation moving and keeping me cool.
In terms of separate shower and toilet, I think they're both really clean and well kept. It's easy to navigate. Just make sure you're entering the right stalls. Girls have a separate toilet and shower with "여자“ written in front.
In terms of public transport, it's SUPER close to Tanhyun train station and Gyeongnam Honorsville bus station. So whichever your prefered mode of transportation is, it's within walking distance.
In terms of finding food, you have a lot of choices. There are convenience stores and restaurants all around the area. The GS25 store at the back is accommodating if you can't speak Korean too well.
In terms of the common spaces like the kitchen and unlimited food, I didn't really try them out. But I see other tenants using them and I think if I had to stay longer, I'd definitely cook some rice and ramen myself.
Just make sure you separate your trash! There's a guide on the goshiwon door on which trash goes where.
For the price, there's really nothing to complain about if you're coming to Tanhyun in May. For the shower, I wish there was a cold water/hot water writing somewhere haha. I didn't know there was hot water on the first day so I took a really cold shower. Didn't mind too much as cold shower helps with sore muscles, so I'd say it even helped me.
