Guest Reviews
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing, lovely period cosy home. - The communication from Charlotte was excellent throughout, the house was amazing there were 9 adults and a 4 week old baby and not once did we feel we were on to of each other, the facilities were fabulous all you ever needed. The treats on arrival were unexpected and amazing. The bedrooms were spacious and colour coordinated. Everything was fantastic and would certainly recommend this house. N/A
- Thu (10/5): A fantastic place! - Everything was great about this property, the decor, the facilities, the amenities including the finer attention to detail and the small touches. Not really a problem, but if we had to state something, then for a property this size, a bigger microwave and oven would be helpful for catering for a large party.
- Philtheflute (10/5): - This was the perfect property for our belated 50th wedding anniversary, which was cancelled last September through a medical emergency . We found Creamore Grove through booking.com and I have to say we fell in love with the place ,so did my daughter's family's we have 5 grandchildren who absolutely had the best time playing games with each other and explored the house playing hide and seek . Also the grounds are lovely with a recently added summer house where they played some board games ,and the gates to the drive that were installed this year kept all of the children safe . It was very special for us all to sit around the dining table at the same time (eleven of us ) we have never been able to do that before . The facilities were amazing , lovely kitchen , all 5 bedrooms were comfortable, and plenty bathroom facilities for us all . We highly recommend Creamore Vale for family get togethers or groups of friends for a special occasion. So thank you Charlotte we he'd the best time in your property, would definitely come again
- Lisa (9/5): Beautiful house with everything you need and more! - The house was beautiful and in a great location. The owners have kitted it out with absolutely everything you need for your stay, including a cupboard dedicated to your dog with bed, treats, toys, bowls. There were plastic plates, bowls and cups for children, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you'd expect to have at home. Even a cupboard full of games, and play equipment in the shed. Not to mention all the goodies that were left for us in the fridge, the hamper, bowl of chocolates and sherry!
Great sized lounge for everyone and the beds were comfortable.
- George (9/5): - Lovely, comfortable, very well provisioned.
- Michael William (10/5): I took my family to my birthplace in Shrewsbury 65 years ago oh has it changed? - Excellent House very good facilities
I would definitely recommend this house Everything about the house was excellent
- Maria (10/5): Relaxing break - A relaxing stay in a beautiful house with all the facilities you need. Nothing
- Emma (3/5): An uncomfortable stay. - Location was nice being set in Wem and lots of lovely Shropshire countryside. Rooms were spacious. Property was clean. Kitchen was well equipped. We had a great meal at The Bull and Dog nearby. There were no opening windows in 4 of the 5 bedrooms which made for absolutely awful sleeping conditions on a hot August weekend. On top of this all the beds had extremely thick winter duvets on as well which made trying to sleep even worse. 3 fans were provided for 5 bedrooms but these just blew around hot air. The property smells musty especially upstairs most likely due to the lack of fresh air. There are lots of Reed diffusers around which try to mask the smell. Part of the reason for choosing this property was the advertised disabled access. My mum is on a walker and found it very difficult to negotiate the step to the kitchen/bathroom which isn’t mentioned. She had to attempt this every time she needed the bathroom - it would be useful to make it clear for future guests to know that the bathroom is the furthest possible position away from the downstairs bedroom which makes it unsuitable for a guest with limited mobility.
Update: since returning I emailed booking.com to raise our disappointment with the property as it resulted in my parents leaving after one night as my mum couldn’t manage the step due to her limited mobility, as well as there being no ventilation in the bedrooms. The listing has now been edited to remove the statement that ‘the holiday home also offers facilities for disabled guests’. I didn’t ask for any compensation, I merely would have liked some acknowledgement that saying the house is suitable for disabled guests was incorrect, and of our discomfort due to the bedroom windows being rotten and painted shut.
All I got was a two word reply from the owner.
- Marjorie (8/5): Convenient, comfortable stopover to attend a family wedding. - Good location and size, well equipped kitchen and lovely welcome hamper. Garden wasn’t enclosed and close to a busy road. Beds were too soft and windows didn’t open upstairs.
- Lawrie (8/5): Very lovely house. Very high standard, great large kitchen, lovely decor, fully enjoyed our stay. -
- Christine (10/5): Beautiful, spacious and in a quiet location. - Excellent size and layout for our family. Rooms were big and all served by nearby bathrooms. Excellent outside seating area which we used all the time even though weather was changeable.
The kitchen is well organised, and Charlotte left us a lovely hamper of goodies, milk and a selection of tea bags on arrival. Beautifully clean and spacious. Lovely property, lovely host made it a fab family weekend. Thank you. We had no complaints at all.
- Tracy (10/5): - We had a great time here That the windows did not open especially in the bedrooms the heat and mugginess was quite unbearable
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Super attractive period house with large rooms, comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen.
Good communication from the owner and the welcome necessities and treats were much appreciated.
We all had a lovely time and would definitely recommend.
- Lee (7/5): Good -
- Vince (10/5): Fantastic stay - Lovely house and spacious rooms. Really lovely and helpful host. Nice touch with the welcome sherry and hamper of goodies. All went down very nicely. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a break. Nothing of note. Maybe another smaller frying pan to go with the big one would be good for big breakfasts. But in terms of gripes, nothing at all.
- Alison (8/5): Lots of space in this lovely big house - - Beautiful gardens, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, very close to the many pubs. shops and takeaways in the village. Was a lovely house for our family get together Another bathroom or at least toilet ( convert the office ?) would have been better for our group. The property is not enclosed so had to keep the dog on a lead.
- Damon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (9/5): Relaxing space and environment with such special touches that resulted in a fantastic break - Our stay at Creamore Grove Wem Shrewsbury was excellent. The house was everything we wished for and more - 9 family members came together to celebrate a special time and the space was amazing. Thank you for the great Christmas decorations and for the added extras including those for the children, dogs and the special welcome pack - which was the best I have ever received when staying away - it was a hamper and very appreciated. The break here added to a very special time and would not hesitate in recommending it to others. We will even go back if looking for this size house in the future. Thank you so much.
- Trish (10/5): We all had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return to this beautiful house! - Charlotte was exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The house was decorated beautifully with lots of Christmas decorations and a very welcome hamper packed with lots of lovely treats which was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. Perfect stay for a family gathering of 12 and was very well appointed and cleaned to a very high standard. We would certainly recommend Creamore Grove and we would love to return one day. Such a lovely area with lots of lovely walks close by. Shrewsbury town is only a short drive away.
- Tonyjonez (10/5): Charming and relaxing place to recharge with family and friends. - Creamore Grove is a charming and comfortable home, this Grade II listed building has been carefully and sensitively fitted out to provide a warm and welcoming stay. The hosts go the extra mile to make everyone welcome, with even toys for the dogs and special provision for, in our case, our daughters 30th birthday which we celebrated with family and friends. All very enjoyable. Although there is a nearby pub we didn't go there, it's a place for gentle pursuits rather than wild parties so recommended if you want to enjoy good company in charming and atmospheric surroundings.
