Guest Reviews
- Rebekah (9/5): Lovely farmhouse accommodation in quiet, secluded spot - Excellent breakfast delivered to our door. I loved the lack of light pollution and enjoyed a clear night sky with excellent view of stars. Host was quick to respond to queries. Accommodation all on one level with no steps which was great for my elderly father. Only slight negative was bathroom door not quite fitting properly or having a lock but wasn't really a problem for us staying just one night.

- Pavla (10/5): - Velmi hezký apartmán. Klidné místo. Jediné co bych vytkla, tak netopili a bylo chladno.
- guy (8/5): Overall very happy and must be very good for walkers if you are that way inclined - I did not require breakfast
- Greg (8/5): We were pretty exhausted when we arrived having ridden 340 miles in 11 hrs. Eleanor and family made us very welcome. Go - Quiet, tranquil, remote Nothing

- Alison (9/5): A great peaceful recharge - Working farm with chickens - really peaceful Nothing! It was lovely
- Jeanne (8/5): Wish we could have stayed and explored the lanes and such . Would easily return. - Such a beautiful area, very charming. They supplied the toddlers high chair and travel cot and had toys in cottage so the children were very content. Only stayed one night and found everything just fine
- Deborah (9/5): 2nd booking for a colleague who was working in the area. -
- ABBY (10/5): We had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay, thank you! - My daughter loved meeting the chickens and exploring the woods nearby. Looked like a lot of bluebells about to come up, which must make it extra beautiful!
- Deborah (9/5): Booked for colleagues who were working in the area, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. -
- Kashka (9/5): Fantastic and attentive hosts! - Cute little cottage tucked away in a small farm. We loved hearing the cockerel and hens during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped for a short stay, everything was clean and comfy. The hosts kindly set up a travel cot and high chair for our stay which helped us massively and there were board games and books to entertain ourselves and our young son. We also had a lovely cooked breakfast, fresh eggs and homemade jam which was lovely.
- Laura (7/5): Peaceful and simple. - Peaceful, quiet and it has everything you needed. We didn’t see anyone at all and there wasn’t a welcome pack so it didn’t feel particularly welcoming. We didn’t feel like we could walk around and explore at all.
- Barry (10/5): -
- Asha (10/5): - Loved the atmosphere, cozy and was able to see the sheep Nothing
- aaron (8/5): long day from London enjoyed the peace and quiet at farm Eleanor was cool - close to where our job was
good clean rooms /cottage

- Taîla (10/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): Breathe taking - The country side, beautiful outdoors, easy access to the countryside woodlands and the chickens, sheep was an extra touch to our stay. Nil
- Marie (8/5): - Nice, quiet location, quaint rural cottage, probably best suited for a couple.
Clean and tidy inside. Our stay was good and did the job but i would advise fixing the doors especially bathroom door which didn't close fully, as it is warped.
Other things that might be useful; extra cutlery, storage shelf for shampoo in shower, extra pillow & blankets for beds for colder nights.
- Maggie (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): very good, no complaints, highly recommend and would stay again - quiet location, comfortable and all very easy to find
- Pamela (9/5): Warm, comfortable and clean place to stay in beautiful countryside. - Comfortable, warm and clean. Beautiful countryside A long way to the shops.
- Kolawole (9/5): Nice guest house to stay for private holiday. - John was every supportive when my vehicle broke down, he came to support me that night. NA
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): Lovely location, lovely owners - Beautiful location, the weather was awful but that’s not the fault of the establishment. Will definitely be back next year to enjoy the spring/summer. Nothing to not like, would definitely come back.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Very picturesque part of Scotland. Lots of wildlife around - including red-legged partridge processing through each day. Super convenient to park the car right outside the house. Very good facilities. Lots of things for young kids - high chair, cot, games, books etc if you need them.
- Sharon (7/5): Pleasant - The self contained flat was good. Had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Although it didn't have a freezer which I needed. But it did have a fridge. The surrounding grounds were very run down.
- Michael (7/5): -
- Carol (9/5): Lovely wee farm cottage - It was very conveniently located near to an event we were attending. It was quiet and we felt safe. Our cottage was very spacious for the 3 of us. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast items (fresh bread, jam & eggs) were delicious. The farm dog, Maple, was lovely. The bathroom door was warped and was hard to close. The outdoor lights did not work when we were going out at night in the dark.
- wilfrid (9/5): Formidable - L'accueil a été formidable. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié de pouvoir discuter avec la propriétaire. Les lieux étaient très calmes . Il manque peut-être une penderie pour ranger ses affaires.
- Victoria (10/5): Beautiful place to stay, lovely hosts. - What an amazing stay! We stayed in the Annex off the main house and would highly recommend it. The Annex is lovely, so roomy for the 4 of us. The girls went out to explore the grounds with Eleanor’s children they are so lovely, the kids had so much fun plus playing with the dogs. Would definitely stay again in future. That we only stayed 1 night! We should have stayed for longer!
- Julie (9/5): Charming farm stay - The location was beautiful, and being located on the farm was great, especially when we woke up to sheep outside the window. The cottage had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. I was really impressed by the owner, who was really helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. There was no where to hang up clothes, which was a very minor thing
- Elisa (9/5): Het was een heerlijk verblijf en heerlijk rustig gelegen. De hond is ook erg lief - De ligging & de ruime kamers
- ann kristell (7/5): Bien - Lit confortable
Calme et jolie environnement
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Everything organic. Nice and clean. Very rural which was what we wanted. Nothing.
- Kirsty (7/5): Nice location, lacking some facilities - Quiet and clean Wasn’t clear about the WiFi on arrival with no signal and no welcome information. The WiFi kept dropping out too.
There was no dish soap or cleaning products. Had to ask at the neighbours.
- Raymond (5/5): -
- Rozenn (10/5): Paisible - Le calme, la nature, l’accueil,
L’investissement personnel de la propriétaire pour valoriser son bien et le rendre attractif
- Matej (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Very comfortable cottage in a great location. Great value for money - Warm; cosy; very comfortable beds.
Had a great relaxing time and a good sleep.
Shower and running hot water was fab.
Cottage met and often exceeded expectations.
Host was friendly and happy to help.
Youngest daughter and son loved watching the sheep and seeing them being sheared. No dislikes to speak off as I was only there one night and the cottage was so comfortable. I do love sitting in a garden and that wasn’t really an option here. No freezer compartment however fridge was large and fitted kitchen is of a high quality.
- Roisin (10/5): A very cosy stay - The cottage was cosy & welcoming. It had everything we needed for a couple of days stay. We enjoyed having some farm eggs & homemade jam, pickles & bread. Great communication from the host which was appreciated. Directions to property clear & easy to follow. Nothing, it was perfect for our needs.
- Paul (5/5): not the best sorry to say. - it was clean. no heating, bed cold and damp.
- Jane (8/5): Peaceful location with helpful and friendly host. - Beautiful location and Eleanor, the host, was lovely and very helpful. Accommodation was clean and equipped. Just a small thing but due to the fact that its location is so remote, it would have been nice to have had some basic provisions like milk, washing up liquid etc provided.
- Brykczyńska (8/5): Very good -
- Lyndsay (10/5): Loved it - It was quiet and spacious and had a friendly dog chickens and sheep close by. Could have done with more lighting outside as when it gets dark it’s pitch black .
- Denice (7/5): Good -
- Julie (9/5): Working farm weekend - The quiet and remoteness ... if you want peace and quiet it's a must There was nothing not to like
- Shirley (6/5): Comfy bed and shower , but no where confortable to sit I.evening and doors don’t shut very wellaywhere especially the ba - The bed was comfortable , and the shower had lovely hot water and was a nice shower The futong/ sofa bed being used as a sofa is really not fit for purpose other than sleeping on .i couldn’t get down low enough to sit down . So after and exhausting day wasn’t great I could r sit apart from a hard wood seat . Shame no tea and coffee , considering the distance to a shop . Never been to an air bnb without this supplied even if enough to make one ? . Bathroom door did not shut so anyone could see you on the loo when walking past .
- John (10/5): It's a no brainer why wouldn't you stay here! - Everything it was private beautiful and we loved maple the pup xx views were amazing and even as a last minute booking the cottage had Everything we needed a real gemof a find Leaving x
- Emma (10/5): Very nice peaceful stay just stopped one night but so nice and the puppy made it all the setter breakfast was lovely coo - Peaceful stay easy directions and Everythink you would need to stay small kitchen but had most things you might need to cook a meal. There was nothing really could have done with a small shower gel shampoo complementary etc but wasn’t a problem
- Jennifer (5/5): Passable - The location was good & although I didn't speak to Eleanor, my partner said she was very pleasant. Couldn't control the heating. The layout was difficult for relaxing & watching tv, so had to rearrange furniture. There were cleanliness issues, as throw on couch was ripped & grubby; kitchen surfaces, dishes & cutlery had to be washed before use.
- Clare (8/5): This worked perfectly as a stop over for us en route to Oban. - Sadly we didn’t have time for breakfast as we had to leave early . The only (minor ) issue was a humming noise in the smaller bedroom (fuse box?) which my friend did find disturbed her a little .
- Jacqui (9/5): Superb -
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Lovely clean, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful setting with great views of open countryside. Eleanor was quick to respond to messages so we were clear of the details that we needed for our stay. The cooked breakfast was tasty plentiful and good value - we couldn't finish it! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away for some peace and quiet. Nothing comes to mind
- Sarah (8/5): Comfortable, quiet and private. Really enjoyed our stay in beautiful countryside. Highly recommended - The cottage was cosy, comfortable, clean, warm and simply laid out and decorated. The facilities were more than adequate and easy to use. It had quite a 'homely' feeling to it. Located on a working farm in beautiful countryside with amazing views and very friendly and hospitable owners. We would be more than happy to go back again. No major issues for ourselves but there were some issues with the TV reception.
- Melissa (7/5): Good -
- Thompson (9/5): Superb -
- James (4/5): Disappointing - Owners were lovely and helpful Think best described as a work in progress
Couldn't see out of window as filthy
Had to ask for heating on as no control in cottage.
Towels like sandpaper
No outside seating, back garden overgrown
- Shaun (9/5): A very nice cottage in a very nice location.. - The cottage and the location and facilities were great. The bathroom door was so badly warped that it was impossible to shut.
It needed replacing.
I am a carpenter so I would have sourced a new door quite cheaply and installed it within 2 hours.
Otherwise the cottage was great.
- Jamie (10/5): A home from home in a beautiful part of the countryside - The cottage, part of a working farm, is set in a stunning slice of countryside not too far from civilisation, but remote enough that it feels as though you're living on the frontiers of a different century. The cottage itself is modern and spacious, containing everything you'll need to cook meals and stay snug, warm and cosy in a little home from home. Shower is good, you can access your streaming services through the TV, and the beds are very comfortable. The hosts were on-hand and helpful, and the next morning they were kind enough to let my young sons help collect eggs from the hens and feed the sheep. I would definitely recommend to other travellers, including those with young families, and we would definitely stay there again.
- Julie (10/5): Lovely short stay and very friendly owners - We came to the property quite late as daughter was too ill to make the long trip home
The couple who run this are lovely and we had a little tour of the farm before leaving
Fabulous little property and perfect for a retreat on a working farm and lots of walking nearby A little cold at times in the front bedroom but apart from that everything was fine
- Victor (10/5): Lovely cosy cottage.definitely stay again, would highly recommend it.. - Even though the location was a little isolated. The road from the A76 to the farm was a little difficult to negotiate. Apart from that, i have no complaints
So peaceful and quiet, had a wondeful nights sleep.
The owners were very accommodating and helpful. Could do with more bath towels
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - You wake up to sheep going past the window, it's absolutely quiet save for a few owls at night, the hosts couldn't be more lovely and helpful and cooking facilities on site were a lifesaver!, we were given clear instructions for checking in and breakfast is offered on site (with notice), If you stay here and have any issues talk to the hosts they were really responsive and helpful, it's a working farm and great for kids too. About the property there wasn't really anything I could pick any fault with, it was a lovely weekend stay
- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant - Good price. Very warm. Easy to find. Friendly owner. Handy location for walks. Enjoyed a good walk to Loch Ettrick. Kitchen could have been better equipped. No oven gloves. Not much washing liquid. Dirty dish washing sponge. No hand towels or extra tea towels. Lighting very stark in living room. A few lamps would help. Windows a bit dirty and dingy.
- Martyn (10/5): Peaceful Stay - Rural location was lovely and quiet, very comfortable and equipped very well.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seana (10/5): Lovely country stay close to family. Oh children liked the hens too - Clean and fresh. Children loved books and games
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (10/5): Lovely place, deffinatly need to return in the summer. - Clean, comfortable and spacious. Amazing scenery, and the shower was mint! Long small tarmac track with no lighting to get to farm. Is fine during the day but was a little daunting when arriving at night under heavy rain. Also a damaged sign due to the storm made it a little confusing to find. It's nit picky but the only fault I could find.
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aileen (8/5): Nice and peaceful no one to disturb. - We never took breakfast. Private location very quiet except for the cockaral in the morning. We had Internet on arrival but it had gone off in the morning. Only 1 fork to use for dinner so other person used a spoon.
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (5/5): Passable -
- Tilling (6/5): Wandering Scotland - Loved that it was in the middle of the country side and was an actual working farm. The little book describing the property was so cute. The sofa was too low although it worked fine as a bed.
There was a phone left in the property, phoned the farm to let them know and also to order some jam but got no response. We couldn't have the breakfast as there was no vegan and gluten free option available.
- Annie (8/5): A wonderful cottage which gives a real "away from it all" feel in a great peaceful location. - It was wonderfully peaceful and quiet. I loved being on a working farm with beautiful countryside nearby to explore. The bed was very comfortable and I thought it was a good price. I hope I might stay again. The kitchen equipment was sufficient but a bit basic - for example nothing to make real coffee with.
- Alan. (10/5): Only used as a stop over. Will have to stay longer next time. - N/A It was all fine
- Leanne (9/5): Thank you ... just what I needed x - Lovely clean & spacious remote cottage perfect to get away for peace & quiet, scenery is beautiful ... just the escape i needed would definitely go back to stay again. Couldn't get TV to work & no basics like milk/teabag for a cuppa after the long journey
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Smith (8/5): Love the place good value and perfect little spot to stay over. Amazing to walk around the roads,hi - Choice of breakfast and homemade bread and jam and eggs are lovely. Tiling behind the worktop was needed. Just needs sprucing up a bit.
- Steffbl (9/5): Superb - Very nice and friendly hosts!
Very silent!
Farm ambience.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage sits on a working farm. Very peaceful and quiet. The guest book hand written by the children added a family feel to the stay with useful information.
- Jedrzej (10/5): Exceptional -
- S (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (7/5): Was a good stay 👍🏻 - Location was great
- Gillian (7/5): Good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (7/5): Suited what I needed it for, kitchen set up all good, shower etc all good. - Certainly very peaceful, would be lovely to go out and see the stars on a clear night.
Looks as if the owner has done a lot of work fitting out the cottage. It’s not a “didn’t like” more an observation.
Can understand why there was a sofa bed in the living room but the room missed something (like a comfy chair to sit in), bedroom comfy but basic, lacked a bit of softness (?) more interesting pictures perhaps?
Slightly odd having the only in and out via the single bed bedroom, but clearly trying to make the most of the space. Not sure what I’d have done instead.
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqui (10/5): Very comfortable stay - We booked the cottage last minute as we needed a layover on our way home from a family holiday. Really good price, fast contact with owners and best of all it was easy to find and easy to access. The girls loves the toys and books and got straight into them whilst we unloaded the car. Only downside of our stay was not staying long enough to enjoy the breakfasts on offer and to explore the area
- Sally (9/5): Set deep in lovely countryside. - The cottage was basically furnished but everything working.. The hosts are very close by and the service and attention to help was lovely, we hadn't eaten and arrived late... all local pubs etc closed. .we were kindly provided with some beans.. the breakfast was outstanding and the host family really sweet and accommodating. The communication was excellent. I personally didn't like the remoteness, it is very isolated, right in the centre of the countryside and very rural. Others may love the night stars and darkness, no light pollution and being surrounded by unkempt nature.. Great for walks etc..we just needed a stop over after a long day..
