Guest Reviews
- Matt (10/5): Beautiful flat next to Auckland Palace. - Beautiful flat next to Auckland Palace and deer park. Flat is modern, clean, and features a full kitchen with washing machine. Great value. N/A. 10 out of 10.
- Tony (10/5): Lovely weekend, enhanced by the quality, comfort, and clenliness of the accommodation. - Great location. Quiet but in the centre of town with all the amenities. Nice views from the front (the Town Hall), and the back (the Bishop's Park). The bolt on the outside cupboard was stiff and difficult to close.
- KPH (8/5): - Clean, well equipped, peaceful cul de sac, overlooking palace grounds, allocated parking
- George (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - The flat was well equipped, great location and easy to find.
- Nigel (8/5): Excellent location and wonderful and clean. The correspondence with the owner was all good. - Location, cleanliness, Wi-Fi and parking all good. Very nice flat in a nice quiet area. Would recommend. The shower temperature was rather random and could not open the windows
- Edward (10/5): -
- Glenna (9/5): Very satisfied - Very central location. Good facilities. Comfortable bed. Well stocked kitchen with a pint of milk and a bottle of orange juice free on arrival. Really good value for money and we will be back. Parking wasn't great as the allocated space is quite small but we do have a hilux truck which needs a bit more room. There were only 3 knives which was a bit tight at times.
- Steven (10/5): Amazing property, great location. - Amazing apartment, location couldn't be better. Very warm inside and plenty of space for 4 people. Parking for 1 car directly opposite, lock box with key for check in. Tea / milk provided which was nice. Very comfortable, I can't recommend enough. Hot water from taps wasn't great, shower was a little weak but very minor issues. I'd still stay again.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Brenda (10/5): - Fabulous location just off the market place and overlooking the Palace grounds.
Good parking.
A beautiful, comfortable flat with easy to manage heating.
We've booked to stay again! The kitchen utensils were quite minimal.
A washing up bowl, small dishes, a small vegetable knife and a cafetiere would have been useful.
There's no longer a market in Bishop Auckland.
- Philip (8/5): Good location. - Convenient location but parking a little tricky. Great for a walk round the Bishop’s Palace Deer park and great refectory. Only a little space around one of the beds. The steep stairs were difficult for older folk with big cases. Sofas weren’t very comfortable.
- Craig Wilson (10/5): -
- Pauline (9/5): Great little apartment in central of Bishop Auckland - Very pleased with the flat, it was central to the attractive area around the Bishops palace and had all the essential things you need for a short stay. Any initial issues were dealt with speedily by the host and I will definitely rebook next time I need to be in Bishop Auckland. Nothing
- Michelle (9/5): - Great location, lovely clean and comfortable place As me and my friend love fresh coffee, a cafferteire would have been a great addition
- Gillian (10/5): Great flat. - Good location with designated parking. Flat was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
- angela (9/5): Upstairs flat, Bishop Auckland - Excellent location for Bishop Castle and gardens.
Had everything we needed and communication was excellent too. Tucked away in a lovely quiet location.
Would happily recommend and look to stay again.
- Hilary (10/5): Fantastic experience - This may be the best accomodation I've stayed in. Light and bright, in a central but quiet area ... extremely well laid out and equipped, it really added such a lot to our first time experience of Bishop Auckland where we attended Kynren (fabulous!) and visited the Bishops Palace (building and gardens also fabulous) on the following day (practically next door) ... I hope the town becomes a go-to destination for more people as the town deserves investment. Contact with the owner was brilliant ... quick responses and very accomodating. Quick shout out also for the taxi driver who took me from the railway station and got out of his cab to make sure I got into the flat safely. I/we plan to come back if we can secure this accomodation again in future. Minor, minor point ... would have liked a cafetiere in the kitchen but absolutely wasn't a real issue
- Lorraine (10/5): Perfect flat in a perfect location - Everything perfect. Fantastic position a couple of minutes walk to Auckland Palace and in a lovely location . Very clean and four of us stayed and there was ample room . Highly recommended. ☺️ Nothing
- Mike (10/5): - Quiet, comfortable and clean.

- Susan (9/5): - Great location, very clean and comfortable!
- Phillips (10/5): Exceptional - The Flat was clean, well equipped and bed super comfortable. There was complimentary milk, water and juice in the fridge and tea coffee and sugar in the cupboard .The owner was helpful and friendly in messaging Highly recommended
- Linda (9/5): Lovely comfortable flat and highly recommend - Fantastic location and great to have a parking space. Bed mattress was a bit lumpy. A couple of small kitchen knives would be useful.
- Paul (10/5): Another great stay! - Thank you for another great stay in your well-positioned, well-equipped apartment. Everything was perfect for our few days in County Durham.
- Linda (8/5): Clean , quiet.great for a couple off days exploring area - Great location. Had everything required in the flat. Had a bit of a problem with the front door lock. But owner was on the case
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - All facilities excellent. A disturbance at 23.55 in an adjoining let woke me up and caused a restless nights sleep. The property owner is aware and offered me a partial refund as an apology. He told me after the event that this proves impossible in the Booking system. Can you assist please???
- Jay (10/5): Fantastic flat - Wow, what a fantastic little flat (it's really not that little btw) in an excellent location, close to the center of town for all the amenities. Had my fingers burnt recently with an Airbnb, this property is on a totally different level (full marks). Communication with the owner is excellent, location is excellent, flat is excellent! What more to say! Personal preference this! I was working nights and the Venetian blinds just didn't cut it, could have done with some blackout curtains as back up, but like I said this is personal and no reflection on the flat itself.
- Elaina (9/5): Brilliant will stay again - Everything Nothing
- Sam (10/5): First trip to Bushop Auckkand - Location excellent, private parking, spacious, well equipped, comfortable, smart tv, wifi, early access, and late morning checkout, Good for places to visit. Pub round the corner was closed.
- Giwh (10/5): Great location in a modern, clean flat... Excellent - Central location, clean, modern rooms, milk, water and juice in fridge, tea and coffee, range of urensils, pots, pans etc, clean towels, cleaning equipment Personal choice but curtains would have worked better rather than blinds.
A blind in the kitchen would be better but again this is a personal choice.
- Light (10/5): Home from Home - I am amazed at how very clean and spotless it is, with perfectly sized rooms and beautiful decor.
The location is perfect for commuting in and around bishop, and checking in was made easy.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Nice clean spacious flat right in old center of town.
- Louise (9/5): A very comfortable stay in Bishop Auckland. - It had everything we needed, it was comfortable, and was in a quiet and very convenient location. I don’t think there was anything we didn’t like.
- Derrick (9/5): Superb - Great location, clean and comfortable property. Bedrooms could have benefitted from having curtains instead of blinds as light from outside on summer mornings wakes you up around 4- 5 am . Personal issues that may not affect everyone .
- Peter (9/5): A very good flat, very well equipped and comfortable. - n/a The distance from the railway station
- Dunn (9/5): Excellent, would recommend it. - The location was excellent, the host extremely pleasant, the decor immaculate, the lounge and kitchen large and very well equipped and we enjoyed every minute of our stay Had a small problem with the plumbing but this was fixed the same day.
- Elizabeth (10/5): We wanted a convenient place to stay to visit family and this flat was perfect for our needs. - Within walking distance of almost anything you could need, including railway, bus, taxi transportation as well as some supermarkets and smaller local shops. Convenient to drive either to the coastal towns or into the dales areas. The flat itself has a washing machine and drying rack so no need to find laundry facilities, as well as being clean and comfortable to stay in.
- Walker (10/5): A great getaway - Perfect location , we had a very peaceful stay
- Michael (10/5): Exellent location. Excellent facilities. -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Perangie (10/5): Great place - Lovely aparment, great location, great communication, nicely decorated, everything you need. You really need to sort the shower out mate, hot for 1 min then cold for 1 min, I would have given you a 5 out of 10 but its your business and im not mean, sort it out.
