- Hadyd (7/5): -
- Hisham (10/5): A very likable eco-place close to the Tyrone area. - An impressive eco-facility in the Tyrone area; very peaceful and quiet (a great place to chill and a good connection to tours and activities in the Tyrone area. Very good wifi ( important in the Tyrone where limited or no connectivity is common). Very helpful and friendly staff. close cli not sure
- MARIA ISABEL (9/5): Tranquilidad - La ubicación
- Alejandro (9/5): Wild - Very green, a lot of space, it’s conveniently located at one of the entrances of Tayrona, slept well, it was possible to work, the room was big and always fresh, the view from the top floor is really nice, they have some bio projects going on, staff was attentive and the owner behaved like a true friend, met cool people. Nothing wrong, a bit secluded though, some improvements could be done.
FYI when you stay on ecological project on a rural location you obviously can’t expect the same standards as a resort and enjoying nature is far more important, if you can deal with this fact it’s a good place to stay for the price.
- Carolina (10/5): -
- Agata (10/5): - I love this place. I booked my stay at Bio Coliving for 3 nights and I stayed there for one month. It's a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by a very friendly environment. It's located near the entrance to Tayrona Park where you can find very beautiful beaches and it's not that crowded as in other parts. I highly recommend this place to everyone and send big hugs to the wonderful people that I met there, who were always kind and friendly and willing to help.
- Rondon (9/5): -
- Filizona (10/5): -
- Balali (10/5): - Great people there they helped me out alot thank you so much for everything

- Lucas (10/5): Workied without worries: constant electricity and WiFi - An amazing place to combine work and nature. I spent several weeks working remotely without any interruptions thanks to the reliable internet, and later I could relax listening to the sounds of the jungle. Juan was always available to help with anything, and we even had very inspiring conversations. I recommend this space for digital nomads who are looking for more than just a coworking spot: a complete experience, like the Jaguar 4.0 plan that included the tour to Playa Cristal and other beaches That I ended up staying less time than I wanted. This place makes you want to extend your stay, it’s not easy to leave
Nada me desagradou.
- Audrey (4/5): Wouldn't recommend, especially not for solo females... - The place is in the nature, private rooms are really cheap, the place itself has several different spaces to chill. When I first arrived I was very enchanted by the place. Juan made me feel at home and everything was perfect... Then, things slowly turned sour. First, the hygiene was bad, I mean so bad that it was a concern for health. No trash in the outside kitchen, Juan refused to provide one. He insisted for guests to use a recycling sorting system behind the house, but trash bins were never emptied so the place was full of accumulated trash on the ground. I spotted a dead frog floating in the swimming pool, maybe it didn't survive the swim. The electricity and water cut sometimes at night. One day, the water wasn't put back at all, so impossible to shower or wash your plates. Most of the time there was dirty dishes in the outside kitchen, it was generally disgusting and since there was no hot water it was never really clean. The fridge was full of stinky juice. (I actually left the place very sick. Like, VERY sick). The microwave was dysfunctional and I suspect, potentially dangerous to use. I asked for kitchen towels to dry hands and been given shirt sleeves instead, which were never washed. Toilet paper was rarely provided in the toilets. I guess that these basic things were too expensive... Drinking water was not included, Juan was selling some, but it was way more expensive than in supermarkets, so I guess, that too, is a business. Dead animals in bocals gave me the creeps. Dogs are barking often, sometimes in the middle of the night, big dog poos in the garden. You're close to the highway and can still hear a bit of traffic noise. You're far from everything. But what made me very uncomfortable is when Juan 'made a move on me' if you know what I am saying... Few days after that, he offered me a tour, he insisted but I refused. Another day, he did it again, he was even more forceful this time, telling me it was a special price that I won't get again. If I understood well, he actually wanted me to pay 30 USD to drive me to the beach... Just him and me, saying the 'company was everything'. That was his 'tour'. I refused again. Then he started to ask for 'favours', for me do to random tasks around the place... But I wasn't a worker there so I thought it was unjustified. I think he was testing me and my willingness to serve. I didn't budge. He took a girl to work for him. He left me alone then. I was isolating myself afterwards and it felt weird, even with the other guests, so I don't know if some things were said about me...? From the comments I read and my own experience, I believe Juan would take advantage of foreigners however he can, since I wasn't the only one questioning his honesty and professionalism. I suspect he's trying to do the less work he can, while finding other people to sweat for him and make money. Dodgee business. I wanted to stay long-term but I had to leave because I felt stressed, outcasted and ended up being really sick. Really a disappointing and degrading experience.
- Wing (7/5): Good - The hostel is surrounded by greenery. And many areas like the upstairs kitchen, dining and terrace areas are 'open', ie without external walls, so you can see the plants and the neighbours' garden. However when it rains heavily as it does these days, everything gets pretty wet. The location has plus points because it is near Tayrona Park. There is Playa Concha you can walk to, about 2 hours on a dirt road. On the negative side, the hostel is by the principal road to go from Santa Marta to Palomino and beyond. So you get the rumbling of traffic, even during the night, only less.
There are several large man-made ponds for fish breeding.
Overall, it is understandable that a place with goals like bio-living cannot be kept as clean as a typical residential building, but some things are not related to the nature scene, such as bits of remaining soap in the bathroom sink, or the upstairs kitchen and fridge being in such a state, poorly equipped, the tap of the sink there has no running water, the trash not removed, and cleanliness was often questionable. The price is very reasonable but it is not a good exchange for the discomfort staying in a place, which seems to not quite reach basic level of tidiness and sanitation for a guesthouse.
- David (10/5): Juan made it all happen! Thanks!! - An awesome place for ultimate relaxation and adventure!
- Manel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beverley (9/5): Superb - Close to Santa Marta. Tasty breakfasts. Wonderful host, Juan, who was friendly, knowledgeable about the area and generally a great guy. Basic accommodation but for the price amazing. We had a great time. We would return. Only thing could have been better was our mattress.
- Brian (10/5): great place to stay when visiting Tayrona or looking for some quite time in the jungle - great place to relax and enjoy nature, as well as interesting social & scientific project. Jenny and Juan were great hosts and I hope to return on my way back to the airport. I enjoyed hanging out with the work-trade volunteers Alejandra & Isaac, as well as the 4 dogs (Machas, Poseidon, Krakken, and Perla) who live here. i also love that they have a punching bag and even a cute little one for kids.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb - The eco projects I liked - it is all thought through and it makes sense. Happy to contribute to this mixed community and to get to know more about this region and its inhabitants. Juan is very passionate and told all about the projects.
I booked the private room, which is a spacious room that has everything you need. Comfortable bed and - if you want - enough facilities to work remotely.
In the beginning I thought the location wasn't practical, but it turns out there are many options for activities (either organised by Juan as a tour guide or going for a walk yourself, the town or Tyrona park). Easily accessible by bus. -
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - This is an amazing place full of nature. Everything is eco friendly even the pool. They are independent with electricity because they use solar. That's good because in Santa María they cut the electricity from time to time and I still had fast internet to work with. It's an adventurous place for those who look for a different experience. It's a bit outside of Santa Marta.
