- andrea (10/5): We sat outside on the patio for breakfast and dinner admiring Petra’s beautiful garden , what more can I say . - Perfect location, beautiful garden and everything we needed for our 4 night stay … Petra was delightful and her place exceeded all our expectations. We will definitely be returning. Everything was perfect
- Brian (8/5): I would highly recommend for peace all round beauty and a caring host - Unique and well equipped for a break any time of the year The shower took some time to regulate but was lovely and hot once mastered.
- Darren (10/5): Great location, spotless well equipped cottage with a lovely host Petra - We have stayed at Barholm Croft before. It is exceptionally clean, well equipped and in a great location to explore. Petra is a lovely host and has always made our stay special. Nothing
- james_billings (10/5): - Couldn't fault my stay here! A warm welcome from Petra to her beautiful cottage. The kitchen was probably the best equipped I've come across, and the combined living room / bedroom was a lovely place to relax, with the window open listening to the birds and lambs. It's well located, close to the main A75 but set back on a minor road so traffic noise is no problem. Easy walk into the village to the local shop for supplies. Nothing to complain about!

There are lots of nice little touches that make the place homely and comfortable. It is very clean and spacious with a well equipped kitchen and nice shower room. The furniture and bed were comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed the rural location and loved sitting in the private garden with a glass of wine after our busy days being tourists. Can't wait to visit again and explore the area further.
- Jacqui (9/5): - Central location for Galloway Forest and local sights such as Wigtown, Whithorn and Mull of Galloway. Fabulous garden with lots of birds and wildlife. Great seating area and well stocked kitchen for cooking and all facilities you need.
- Richard (8/5): A beautiful isolated location and cozy cottage. Close to nature and walking routes - I really liked the garden and beautiful surroundings. Kitchen was fully equipped. Cottage was charming comfy and warm. The host and locals were friendly and helpful. Location is isolated and public transport is one bus an hour. The only nearby shop closes at 8pm. We were prepared for this but it was still stark. Having your own vehicle is a must. The wifi was not very strong and did not cover the whole cottage.

- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little cottage in quiet area. Everything you need and very comfortable. A little out of the way for pubs or restaurants, but that's not a problem. Good shop in village. Nothing.
- Edward (10/5): Beautifull Croft in beautifull location a hidden gem off the beaten track - Petra the owner met us on arrival this is our second time this year at this cottage is in an idyllic place so peacefull so quite and Petra is on hand for any issues , everything in the cottage is there at hand , and is immaculate, the bedding is so fresh , clean , towels in bathroom , dish towels etc , every single thing you can wish for is there , even tea and coffee , and milk in the fridge , the garden is stunning , I really have no negatives about our stay one slight thing that did kind of annoy me a bit is , when you are sitting in the garden , there is a sensor light that activates on movement ,there was no actual garden light that you can manually switch on and off when you are sitting in garden , so although we had light via sensor light it clicked of after about 30 sec , then we had to wave our hands above sensor to make it come on again , just think a porch light that you can switch on and off would be better apart from that I still rate this as an excellent stay and hope to return early next year (2025 )
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage provided me and my partner with exactly what we wanted. It's perfect for couples. In a good location, exceptional facilities (Much more than advertised) but above all Petra is a lovely woman who has a passion for gardening and knows how to create a warm, relaxing and holmly atmosphere which is what sets this property aside from the others. Everything was perfect

The whole place is spotlessly clean, and the host (Petra) was fabulous.
We don't often visit the same place twice, but we'd definitely stay here again. Nothing to report.
- Alexina (10/5): Perfect place to stay. - Quiet, private, very clean and comfortable. Beautiful cottage garden. Location ideal for Galloway Forest and coast. 5G phone signal. Very well equipped kitchen (including air fryer). Netflix. Petra is a perfect host. Nothing

- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was just perfect with an amazing garden it was so relaxing and loved watching the bird's my dog loved it too. Host was excellent very friendly.
Loved the beach at mossyard which was only q0 minutes away Nothing it was perfect
- Michelle (4/5): Disappointing - The bedroom/living area and bathroom had clearly had a recent revamp and on the face of it was quite nice. Unfortunately, the whole cottage smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke which was impossible to get away from. All of our clothes and belongings smelt when we left and everything had to be washed when we got home. We were visiting for a wedding so my partner's suit also took on the smell and will have to be specially cleaned. Neither of us are smokers so this was very disappointing.
- Peter (10/5): For what it is - perfect. - Attention to detail and garden.
- Dot (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marian (10/5): Relaxing - A lovely little cottage with a pretty little garden, everything you could want was provided in the property , very pleasant

Loved having a log fire, particularly as it was cool in the room albeit the heating was on all day. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the bathroom had a walk in shower. The area was stunning with some scenic walks and drives. We will definitely be back. Our only criticism really was that the bathroom was chilly for having a shower if you are elderly.
