Guest Reviews
- Tracey (9/5): Wonderful Girlie Weekend -
- Melanie (8/5): Great family space - Social spaces
Decor
- Lindsay (8/5): Very good -
- Dora (8/5): Great family home. Great for our group of 8. - So convenient. Great space Smelled of sewage
- Nigel (3/5): If planning to stay here check the drainage issue has been sorted ! - Really good location. Would be a wonderful house if not for the smell from the drainage issue and the downstairs furniture that needs updating Offensive smell from (we believe) a long standing drainage issue that effects the whole of the ground floor of the property especially once the heating has been on a while. Ahead of our stay we had read reviews from previous visits that mentioned a "damp" smell on the ground floor, when we queried this before we went we were initially told "that the cleaners had not reported a smell". After asking for further confirmation (we were concerned as one of our group suffers with asthma) we were told that there was indeed a minor smell of damp but scented candles and a dehumidifier would be provided. When, a short while after arriving, it became clear that the smell (which can only be described as faecal) was not damp but a drainage issue it was confirmed that "they were aware of a drainage issue". This rendered the bottom floor of the house pretty much unusable. After taking this up with the letting company they have insisted that there is no such smell but have given us a small refund (which we are not satisfied with) as compensation for our inconvenience. Unfortunately the customer service department of Booking.com do not seem to want to help in this matter either
- Hayley (8/5): We enjoyed our stay , good location . - The house had a lovely feel to it. Loved the pictures and decoration. The kitchen/ lounge was really nice to relax in whilst cooking . The bar stools in the kitchen were very worn and unfortunately there was a really horrible damp smell everywhere ,particularly downstairs , we had to buy a scented candle . The kitchen could have been better equipped for cooking
- Fiona (9/5): Great weekend - would stay again! - Location was excellent house was a great place for the 6 of us to be together. There are a lot of stairs so be careful! Some furniture is very tired (stools in the kitchen and some dining room chairs) which let the property down
- Laura (5/5): Lovley house decor nice smelt bit damp - Good location hard to park though Bins all out the front spent 40 mins trying to get in the property and six different number
- Charlotte (10/5): Perfect, home from home for a family stay. - The location of the property was perfect, very central but in a lovely quiet area.
The kitchen and back living room was our favourite area - especially being able to open the back door out into the garden so we could all sit together. The property was decorated very nicely and was very well equipped with top of the range appliances and good quality kitchenware. The bedrooms were very comfortable and two of them having en-suite bathrooms was great. The kids especially loved all the games and books the property had to offer. Some of the chairs in the dining room were a little worn out and the upstairs living room was a little tired but this didn’t effect our stay in any way. Parking was a little tricky but host 360 were able to help us with parking permits - some info about this in the description on booking.com would be useful. Also didn’t mention anywhere on the description that the property has three flights of stairs - this was fine for us but might be useful for other future guests to know this in advance.
