Guest Reviews
- Dragana (10/5): -
- Tracey (5/5): Great location but an afternoon was long enough for me - Location Too small very dark
People next door in garden looking straight into down stairs bathroom and window sill in bathroom was filthy
- Charliebythesea (5/5): Okay but expensive - It was okay. Overpriced compared to other
places we have stayed.
The welcome pack - two rolls of toilet paper and a dishcloth is really nothing to shout about.
- Anne (9/5): Spotless comfortable cottage in a great location. - Well equipped. As stated the stairs are steep. A handrail is needed both sides not just one side.
- Gary (9/5): Cosy small cottage in walking distance of the town -
- Daniela (7/5): Good - The location and the cozyness The frying pans, the grill and the loo brush were terribly dirty
- Rix (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - Really cosy cottage in a perfect location You have to be really good friends to stay there together as it’s very small and the bathroom being downstairs means not much privacy! Also disappointing that for the price there is no welcome pack with basic supplies….some bread, milk and butter would have been nice
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosemary (8/5): Very good -
- Horace (7/5): All was OK - Would have been much better with a larger bed in the main bedroom - Everything was as stated and was OK. Beds were small and uncomfortable. The main bedroom needed a larger (5 foot) bed. There was space to accommodate one.
- Julia (6/5): Property was more suited for 2 people rather than four. Recommend for short stay only, due to upstairs space and one bat - Good location, clean and traditional. Stairs were a bit steep and no upstairs bathroom
- Mal (9/5): Just the ticket! - Just a perfectly sized little cottage for 2 people sharing. Cheek by jowel with the neighbours
- Carmel (9/5): Fabulous. Would go back. - Location Steep stairs
- Lynn (10/5): Enjoyed my stay so much & l am planning to try & book the cottage for June next year. - The most well maintained & clean cottage. Stairs a bit steep but fine once l got used to them. Also have to be aware of the small step in between the lounge & kitchen area.
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Sian (9/5): Cosy quirky cottage near beach - This property is ideally situated near the centre of Aldeburgh, and not far from the beach. It is clean, warm, comfortable and has all the equipment we needed. We loved the quirky traditional staircase. Free parking on street outside, and we managed to get a place every day - though this might have been more difficult in summer. 1) Very minor point; some holiday cottages have welcome packs, this one doesn't. So need to bring everything edible apart from salt and a few spices. There is a well stocked Coop down the High Street that is open late, so it would have been helpful to remind clients to either bring all foodstuffs/drinks with you or expect to do a shop on arrival.
2) Bins! The emailed instructions ask one to put bins out on Sunday night for Monday emptying. The written instructions in the cottage say this is not necessary. We found a large collection of bins down the alley but, despite what we were told, it was impossible to say which belonged to 277. Please could this be rectified?
3) We loved the steep traditional cottage staircase. There was plenty of warning on the cottage details this made it unsuitable for those with limited mobility - especially as there are no toilet facilities upstairs (which perhaps should also have been mentioned).
- Glenn (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (10/5): A very enjoyable stay, so relaxing and highly recommend. - Clean, fresh, pretty, welcoming and comfortable. Lovely and quiet but it was January! Not a dislike but stairs are very steep so not suitable for elderly or anyone who has difficulty with steep stairs. For small children’s safety there would need to be a stair gate.
- Sassystag (8/5): Very good - Location great, cottage lovely, tastefully decorated. Could have been more welcoming. There are too many instructions and jobs to do and how we'd be fined if we didn't take glass with us. Also, we are asked to take the rubbish out, but there were no pedal bin liners to replace the one we used. Could be a bit softer with approach.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Very relaxing -
- Susannah (8/5): Fantastic - Location Cooking utensils limited
- Lesley (9/5): Superb - Great location, very clean, everything we needed, parking, comfy beds, lots of hot water, great shower, cute garden Loo roll...very poor quality!! Didn't reflect the property.
- Lulu (7/5): A lovely cottage and perfect for a weekend away - The property’s location was great and it was clean and tidy. It’s a lovely house and perfect for a weekend away. There was ample places to park right outside the house which made things super easy too! Overall, loved Fisherman’s cottage It didn’t mention that the garden was shared. We didn’t mind obviously, but would have been nice to know and feel as though they tried to hide that in the images of the garden / didn’t make that clear. It would have been a nice touch to have some coffee/ tea but there was nothing at all - also no freezer.
- Hilary (8/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable! Great location for the town and beach. - It was very comfortable and homely. Also very clean. The information about putting the bins out on Sunday evening was inaccurate.
- Dale (7/5): It was OK - Great location - nice little cottage Primarily safety. The unit has very steep stairs which is understandable in an old building - however the bannister was a) attached to the wrong wall and of very flimsy construction. - an elderly family member was hurt as a result.
- Lorraine (7/5): Great location but tired property in need of some TLC - Location was good It doesn’t feel like the owners have spent any money on it for a long time … furnishings are tired and dated and the kitchen could do with a refurb especially the very old stove ! Most of the rentals I have been to at least have a bottle of milk in the fridge or a welcome pack .. this one had nothing sadly .. also it would be good if there was a designated hand towel In the bathroom and a proper hand wash in a bottle instead of a tiny wrapped up soap that leaves a slimy residue on your hands .. it was basic and probably would not stay again especially with the downstairs bathroom
- Bob (10/5): Excellent property and location was great - Great location very nice property
But the barking dog all night spoilt the evening on Friday four hours the dog was barking Everything was spot on
- Ann (10/5): Wonderfully relaxing - Lovely cottage, very comfortable with everything we needed. Good location in Aldeburgh and definitely plan to come back. Stairs a little steep, but as expected for a property of this period. Not a problem though, good exercise and kept us on our toes!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (9/5): Superb - the cottage was quite cold when we arrived and we had to wrap up in the day time
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Rosanna (10/5): Cute cottage in the perfect location - Amazing location in gorgeous Aldeburgh just minutes from both the seafront and the shops. Excellent facilities and beautifully laid out. Also, when we had an issue with the TV, the owners sent round a handyman who arrived within 15 minutes and fixed it for us. Excellent service and hospitality :)
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (9/5): Cosy Cottage - Located at the quieter end of the High Street the cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway but close enough to be able to pop back if needed. Very cosy and clean with hot water which is always a bonus. The open fire was an added treat especially as the weather was still chilly. We enjoyed Aldeburgh and would definitely plan another visit. The only thing that stopped us giving our stay a 10/10 was the bed, comfortable to sleep in but so squeaky everytime you turned over so sadly interrupted sleep. Had we have stayed longer we would have tried the smaller double room. This minor detail would not stop us returning.
