Guest Reviews
- Nini (1/5): Horrendous - Nothing We were kicked out mid stay because apparently the property was sold and they promised to reimburse 50% which never happened, when I tried to call they did not pick up.
- Pete_m (1/5): Never again - Nothing. Not the apartment we booked advertised on the website. Wrong location and top floor with loads of stairs which was terrible for my mobility issues.
Apartment not ready for letting. Leaks, bare light wiring, no working wifi, no curtains big enough to cover the bedroom window and only nets in the lounge. Maintenance man still in the apartment on arrival and something he done tripped the electric.
No iron, no hair dryer and not even complimentary welcome tea and coffee pack. 2 tea plates, NO dinner plates so don't get a takeaway unless you want to eat out of the container.
No hot water so we didn't bother to try and wash up before leaving
I've stayed in some very nice apartments in Folkestone but this is the second worst one I have ever used on Booking. Com... Anywhere....
I feel miss sold having the apartment on the website I am commenting on to the one we actually stayed in.
- Kerry (1/5): I did not stay. It was that bad - There were several open bags of rubbish at the entrance. It smelt musty and had old out of fat good in the cupboards and loose teabags There was a needle on the mop stored at the back door
- Terence (1/5): Ruined! - Location and free parking outside Dirty overgrown staircase entrance with no external lighting, tatty damaged lobby, wardrobe is a freestanding frame, the bed is old and lumpy, no mirror, working fan or non slip shower mat in a 1980’s bathroom. A TV the size of a laptop computer and a dirty overgrown patio area. This place has been furnished using the cheapest items of furniture etc and has not been properly maintained for years! Also there was no hot water, the WiFi could not cope with a BBC iPlayer documentary and buffered every 20 seconds making it impossible to watch. The electrical installation shows no sign of an electrical installation test or PAT testing labels on appliances there for our use! Who is responsible for the health and safety regarding properties rented via Bookings.com? Someone needs to check before someone gets hurt by this neglect!
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Shirley (7/5): Good - Nice size . Very basic. No bathroom cabinet. Storage full of blankets ,pillows books etc . Not much room for anything else. Had to clean kitchen sink .Kitchen window would not lock. Bed ok. Still enjoyed our stay .
- Norzamliana (8/5): Simple n easy. - Sea scenery in front of my room beautiful..will come again 1 day. Parking is limited and i have to park quite far from the hotel.
- Raul (7/5): Good, except for bedroom, dirty. - Spacious, simple, smooth check in. Easy communication with owner.
Free parking Bed is very uncomfortable and dirty. Bring your own bed shit/blankets. I was lucky i read that in another comment, and acc did it.
Also, kitchen with no scissors, and barely any pots and pans. But enough plates.
- Morgan (8/5): Really good value for the money with easy communication with the owner. Had a good time ! - The location was really easy to get to and from places A couple spare pillows would have been more ideal
- Xander (1/5): Hosts, House and Booking.com THE WORST - Nothing. 1. The location - on a hill be warned. Also not in good neighbourhood.
2. The property - is in a not good state of repair.
3. The neighbours and noise - every word they say from above you can hear. And they stomp around 24/7
4. The pictures - are what it looked like once - not now though.
5. The cleanliness - or lack of. So dusty. Not clean at all.
6. The bedroom - on the front of the property which is lower ground floor but just below street level.
7. The bedroom window - can be clearly seen from the street.
8. The lack of curtains - what was there can only be described as see through.
9. The lack of lamps - the only bedroom lighting was the ceiling - have it on you can see every thing.
10. The lack of PERSONAL SAFETY.
11. YOU can be seen in bed from the street, rendering the bedroom useless.
12. MATTRESS was shot and should be binned NOW.
13. Use the shower and it trips the power, again and again.
14. There are opened power bills showing serious debt, cut off notices and threats of collection at the door - nice.
15. The living room - different
16. The dresser in the living room - a drawer front off it and on the floor.
17. No TV signal, the aerial cable is broken off. This means no TV, radio, music, nothing.
18. Chunks out of walls.
19. The sofa needs professionally cleaning.
20. The kitchen window that would not shut or lock (we "jimmied" it eventually).
21. People in the back garden at 0300 setting off the security lights
22. Reporting most of this via Booking.com, it being read at 1630 and the hosts doing nothing at all.
23. Reporting it all to Booking.com and being ignored, told reply in 48 hours.
24. Calling Booking.com waiting 20 mins in the queue, having Agents hang up and having to repeat this 4 times.
25. At 2300 someone is banging on the bedroom window and yelling obscenities
26. At 2330 Booking.com saying they will give a full refund.
27. But no help to find somewhere else

- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (5/5): Passable - Clean and warm once we put the heating on but freezing on arrival Appalling bed, 1 thin pillow each, old thin duvet and towels
- Merve (2/5): Very poor -
- Crystal (10/5): Beautiful place to stay would definitely come back and stay again - Beautiful Need more pots and pans
- Sarah (4/5): Disappointing- not as advertised - It was close to town and the harbour. Great communication and response from the reception team. The photos are very misleading (possibly heavily filtered) and make the property appear quite high end which it is not. The towels and robes as pictured were not there, instead there were 2 grotty mismatched towels hanging over the rail - one of which had a big bleach stain and the other one only looked fit for the dog. Suffice to say we didn’t have a shower so I can’t comment on this! The TV in the bedroom isn’t connected to anything so pretty pointless and the voile curtain lets in all the light so we were woken quite early. The bed is very creaky and the single pillows are quite thin so not a particularly comfortable night’s sleep. We did not use the kitchen apart from getting a glass of water but there was barely anything in the cupboards. The onstreet parking states it is only for an hour but when I rang the reception team I was told the restrictions no longer apply and it was ok to park there. We took their word for it and did not get a ticket.
- French (5/5): It was fine at a glance but in reality it was an uncomfortable night and not worth the money. especially when we could’v - The property was nicely decorated, and close to the town centre. The bed was very uncomfortable and clearly worn.
The shower had very little pressure and had an issue with the temperature controls. it was either freezing or boiling.
There was mould from damp in the enterance. which was fine but not a great welcome.
some furniture was falling apart.
- Christine (7/5): Good - Nice and roomy basement flat Personally we missed a table to eat at, and a cafetière.
- Ruby (7/5): Good -
