This cottage has everything you need- fantastic kitchen and living area. Spacious bathroom and two beautiful bedrooms. It was lovely and cosy for our stay. Gerry was so kind to us, we were eloping that weekend and he gifted us a bottle of Prosecco and a beautifully written card to celebrate. He couldn’t have done any more as a host- 10/10😊 Nothing, it was exceptional.

- Lori (10/5): Lovely hosts, remodeled, close to town, washer dryer, great sleep! - Best sleep of the trip! On top of being clean, remodeled, close to town, a complete house with washer and dryer, it also had perfect blackout windows so sleep was deep and restful. The hosts were lovely and available.
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Great place central location Wish there were tissues
- Carmen (10/5): Beautiful spacious cottage with friendly host. - The cottage was spotless and beautiful. It was well maintained and had every possible thing you could need. We were four adults (2 couples). There was privacy, with a large kitchen and full laundry. Jerry (our host) went above and beyond. He met us, drove us to our car rental, and dropped us off at the bus stop on departure.
It was 10-15 minute easy walking to the bus station, restaurants and pubs. We had a wonderful time. Nothing
- Pascal (10/5): 3 day stay Isle of skye - The apartment was fantastic, everything was clean and comfortable Nothing
- Oleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - The best place to stay on Isle of Skye . Warm , comfortable , spacious place with greatest host !
We were very lucky to stay there !
- Nea (9/5): Superb - A comfortable little cottage for a few nights stay in portree.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Gerry, the host, is awesome, very helpful. Both cottages are clean, well maintained, well supplied. The location is really good, 5 mins by car from Portree and a perfect base to explore the island. Plenty of car parking in the driveway
- Katharina (10/5): Amazing cottage - Stunning cottage. Very spacious, our favorite during our stay in Scotland. We had everything we needed, the location is great and and easy walk to Portree. Super clean and super friendly host. We loved everything !
- Lukasinho (10/5): Exceptional - Cottage is spacious and very well equipped. Big bathroom with floor heating, comfortable beds. At bad weather conditions the house is warm and cosy. Very good contact with the super friendly host.
- Andrea (9/5): Gerry n.1. Always available.. super host - All
- Carol (10/5): Great place for a family to stay in Skye - Spaciousness of rooms, location, heated bathroom, had everything we needed. Nothing
- Fiona (9/5): Would recommend. - Comfortable, well-equipped cottage. Loved the washer and dryer.
- Matthew (10/5): Amazing Cottage in Portree - Gary was very welcoming and friendly. The cottage is spacious and close to the city centre. The parking space is also a huge plus! Would definitely recommend when visiting Portree and the surrounding areas.
- Lesley (10/5): Warm, comfortable, ideal quiet location. - Excellent location, everything we needed. Good kitchen & washing machine facilities if needed. Home from home
Walkable to Portree town centre.
- David (10/5): Great cottage with plenty of space and all the facilities you might want. - Loved the space and the facilities. I loved the bed though my partner found it a little hard. The kitchen was very well equipped. The laundry was also easy to use and appreciated. The underfloor bathroom heating was a pleasure and helped dry the clothes on a rack when the weather was somewhat moist. Nothing really. My partner found the walk up from Portree village a little hard (we are retirees).
- Marcio (10/5): Pleasantly fresh and spacious spot in Skye - Comfortable, spacious, clean and renovated, complete for self-catering. Easily accessible with a car. Kind and attentive host Gerry provided us with every information we needed.
- D (9/5): Comfortable and relaxed, typical glaswedian host - Self-catering, location was ideal. N/A
- Lori (10/5): Exceptional - Host was wonderful and the cottage was amazing. The little details make a big difference.
- Miriam (7/5): A good home base for a visit to the Isle of Skye. - Great location! We could walk to downtown Portree and restaurants. Portree is a good place to use as a base for touring the Isle of Skye. One of the twin beds was very squeaky.
I would also suggest the owner log in to his Netflix account - if you are from out of the country it is very difficult to obtain the authorization to sign in to a personal Netflix account.
- Hartman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Parijat (10/5): Great stay and fond memories. Loved this place totally. - Gerry was an exceptional host. He was very friendly and helpful. The home (Rose Cottage) itself was exceptional and equipped with all the amenities and modern gadgets to make our stay really comfortable. Rooms were large and clean, the decor was pleasing to the eye and everything was tastefully decorated with all rooms having access to sunlight. The view from the drawing room to the outside lawn area was super impressive. Gerry even took us to the local area store to procure (due to the inclement weather) all the provisions required during our stay. I would say this place was our home away from home for 4 nights so many miles away and we would definitely come back here again. The area is very safe, and we even had long evening walks back from town. We would like to thank Gerry for providing us such a wonderful stay and wonderful memories of Portree.
Regards,
Parijat There was nothing to dislike here.
- Rosa (10/5): Highly recommend. - Spacious accomodation. Close to the village. Host was amazing and helpful.
- Kathy (10/5): Exceptional - What an excellent place to recharge after being outdoors all day. The cottage was just outside of the touristy area of Portree so it was nice and quiet but a short drive or walk to the centre of town.
- Rafael (10/5): Such a lovely place in Portree! The cottage is huuuuuge, comfortable, clean, and full of amenities. - Such a lovely place in Portree! The cottage is huuuuuge, comfortable, clean, and full of amenities (including washer & dryer for your clothes).
Exceeded our expectations!
The host is very welcoming as well. nothing!
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. There is nothing to dislike about this place. I can't say a bad word about these accomidations.
- Jeter (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property. Plenty of room. Everything we needed. Friendly host. Nothing.
- Daralyn (10/5): Cute, centrally located cottage with all the amenities needed for your stay in Portree. - Gerry’s place had everything we needed for our family of three, including a travel crib for our seven month old. The cottage was located in a safe, quiet location that’s just a short drive or walk from town. Gerry was friendly and welcoming - would absolutely recommend this place to visitors of Portree. It just happened to be 70+ degrees when we stayed, so it got a little warm at night but it was unseasonably warm.
- James (9/5): Superb - Comfortable, well equipped accommodation. Easy parking. Very helpful and friendly owner of the cottage, who really put himself out for us. Absolutely nothing!
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (10/5): Very relaxing and good location - Very clean and comfortable everything is provided for
- Esmeralda (10/5): Don’t hesitate. Lots of love has gone into this property. - Everything about this property is absolutely great. It’s well-located, Gerry and his wife are super friendly, it’s so clean, it has a washer which is great if you’re coming in after a first leg of a trip and need to freshen up clothes. It feels like a real home only you have the amazing Isle of Sky to go on wonderful adventures.
Really, our favorite place of our whole trip to Scotland. Thanks for everything Gerry.
- David (10/5): Just perfect - Very comfortable for a bit of down time in a homey setting while traveling 3 weeks in Scotland. The Isle of Skye is beautiful, with many walks and points of interest. Beautiful scenery.
- James (10/5): From the moment we drove it we were made welcome by the owner Gerry. The cottage is excellent……..highly recommend - Just like being at home…….the property had everything Clean, quite, comfortable and very well equipped
- Lucas (10/5): Excellent stay! - Sparkling clean, spacious, new and the owners were absolutely adorable with us. I can only recommend the place! Nothing, all great
- Hamad (9/5): Superb -
- Cedric (10/5): Excellent-welcoming-comprehensive-inobtrusive -
- Arie (10/5): This is a great place for families or groups of friends to stay when visiting Skye! - The cottage is incredibly cute, and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. They provide plenty of valuable information of the surrounding area and ideas for how to plan your adventures around Skye. The cottage is also in a perfect location for travelling around, and is a walkable distance from town if you need a quick bite. The beds were a bit on the hard side
- Renee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Host was accommodating and welcoming. and the unit satisfied all of our expectations and needs. We would definitely rebook with them if a future opportunity arises.
- Murray (10/5): Fantastic stay in a perfect property. - Great house which feels like a home from home. Cosy and spacious. Very well looked after property with every amenity you could need. Really clean. Cannot find a fault. Hosts really friendly and on hand if needed. Great location for sightseeing around Skye and handy for walking to the restaurants of Portree. Will hopefully be back again sometime. Nothing
- Mary (9/5): Skye " view". - Homeliness of " cottage" - had all the facilities you would need & even the added bonus of a tumble drier, which , given it was Skye in October, was definitely needed. Bathroom downstairs - not a problem really but given two of us are of " a certain age" was not great.
- Erin (10/5): This is a great place to stay if traveling around the Isle of Skye - Rose cottage was spacious and comfortable. It was decorated so nice with beautiful local prints on the wall. Gerry, the owner, greeted us and gave us a tour of the cottage and left us with a detailed notebook about the area. We loved the heated bathroom floor after a cold day of hiking. The weather was not nice enough during our visit to enjoy the deck off the back, but it looked lovely. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer! It’s not far from the center of town, but I wouldn’t recommend walking to get there. The road is narrow and twisty and would be even more dangerous at night.
- Malcolm (10/5): very comfortable home from home, very accommodating host. thanks Gerry - everything nothing
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Yael (10/5): Exceptional - Huge cottage, we would stay there forever.
Fully equipped kitchen, laundry machine and the dryer. The house is very beautiful and stylish. The furniture is comfortable. You have all you need there for a vacation stay.
Highly recommended place.
Gerry is an amazing host! Thank you for everything. Nothing, all was perfect!
- Hannah (10/5): Best stay ever! - This cottage was outstanding and is easily one of the best vacation properties that my family has ever stayed in. It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well located. The host was friendly and the property had everything that we needed/wanted, including reliable hot water which was not always a given in other properties during our time in Scotland. The washer/dryer worked well and was easy to use. If given the opportunity, we would gladly book this cottage again and would highly recommend this for others looking to stay in Portree. Nothing. Which makes this a rare find.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - Couple minutes by car to the square. Good location for our day trips we had planned. Loved having a washer and dryer. Our cottage had upstairs bedrooms with the bathroom downstairs. Still, not a deal breaker.
- Richard (10/5): Clean comfortable spacious - Private with a small outdoor space. very spacious Close to town. and the washer and dryer was a godsend. Thumbs up on this cottage.
- Howard (9/5): Me & my son had fab stay at rose cottage, owner gerry helpful with recommending walks - Very spacious cottage, ideal proximity to accessing portree centre
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owners, good location, quiet at night, enough space for family
- Ivan (10/5): Fantastic space for 2-4 people with great quality amenities. Exceptional host assistance and care when required. - The hosts were so caring and attentive when we needed them. They were friendly and calm but left us to ourselves, which allowed us to truly kick back and relax. The facilities were all top quality for for being on an island away from the mainland. Wi-Fi weak, but available. Comfy bed, with decent pillows. Sky TV a nice touch. The bathroom was amazing, especially with the heated floors. Location is perfectly situated to get around to the main spots. Could have been a few more kitchen bits and pieces handy for those that like cooking. For example, Oil, salt, cling wrap, foil. Stuff that could be a hassle to buy if only staying a few nights.
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Everything you need from a home in Skye. We just loved the place! - After travelling for a while, a real home! All you need! Fully equipped comfortable house. We were travelling in Skye with our two adolescents, including hiking, and having a real home 🏡 to come to every night was marvellous. Portree CENTER is in 15 min walking distance or 3 minutes by car, Yet we even didn’t feel like going out at all. Just enjoyed having a real home. There is an excellent Co-op supermarket (one in a walking distance and the larger one 5 minutes by car) that we really enjoyed preparing our own food or buying ready made. The host are a very welcoming couple. Anything you need - they are in there own house next door. Yet they give you full privacy. It feels that being nice is there true nature and not a touristic stance. We didn’t use the garden since it was a bit rainy, but it is cute as well.
We had Nothing. Very seldom I’m give so high grades! But all four of us just loved the place.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Great self-contained cottage, modern and very well appointed. The best accommodation we had for our whole trip around Scotland.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent little cottage with everything you need. Clean and very well spaced. Plenty of space for parking and a nice walk into Portree. Host lived next door in case of any issues, which there were none. Good value for money. The midges, but nothing can be done about them.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Great cottage, perfect for a family of 4. Good location, easy walk into town.
- Romina (9/5): Wonderful cottage and the host was amazing :) -
