Guest Reviews
- Princess (8/5): Really loved the place and it was quite an experience and we loved it - Private and intimate It doesn’t have heaters and it gets cold as much as they have a fan for the summer. They should at least consider a fan heather

- Ilona (7/5): Really lovely cottage. A bit close to the main road, but overall a good time. - The cottage was really lovely and exactly what we expected. The hikes are fun, and well-marked, and all around, the stay was so nice and relaxing. The cottage is really beautiful and so well designed; however, it is SO close to the main road that it's really immersion-breaking. Nothing ruins stargazing or bird watching like the sound of lorries and cars going by.

- Magdil (10/5): Loved everything - the sunrise was amazing. The uniqueness of it - What an awesome experience!! loved the openness, still lying on your bed with everything open, (i preferred that not closing up) and see the red color of the sun rising. The bests feeling ever! Friendly and very helpful staff............
- Norman (10/5): Luxery champing - Amazing place near Krueger, we have the Lillie tent and it was great, fully functional kitchen, fire place, little pool and amazing view, tent super clean, service outstanding
- Elaine Slabbert (8/5): -
- Nonhlanhla (10/5): Perfect stay for a couple, no faults at all. Id come back again - It was beautiful, completely remote, spacious and it was giving 💯 Bush staycation Road to packing site was damaged and bushy
Jede einzelne Unterkunft hatte seinen Charme.
In der ersten Nacht hatten wir früh morgens eine Gnu Herde vor der Tür.
Der Ausblick von der Lilly Lodge war grandios. Es gibt keine Beanstandung.
- Vusimuzi (5/5): My stay would’ve been better if the toilet was not so far away from the bedroom, their food basket are so expensive, the - The place was serene and the tranquility was amazing The fact that the toilet and bathroom is so far away from the bedroom, having to wake up at night and walk to the toilet in a rainy weather doesn’t make sense. I also hated the fact that their food is so expensive, yet tasteless
- Maboho (8/5): -
- Khumbelo (10/5): I wouldn’t trade my stay there for anything in the world. The waterhole dinner setup did justice - It’s far away from all the noise from the city. Perfect for getting in touch with your inner self, cottages are not near to each other privacy is top notch the property is a total 10/10. Hands on staff with good communicating skills Not having hot water but it wasn’t such a big deal because it was extremely hot so the outside shower did justice
- TONDANI (1/5): What was meant to be a peaceful New Year’s getaway turned into a distressing experience due to rude staff, poor handling - It’s a beautiful place to rest The entire staff, particularly the manager, were extremely rude. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were unwelcome.
On our first day, it rained heavily with strong winds, lightning, and thunderstorms. The blinds of our tent were not closed, which caused the tent to flood. I immediately contacted the duty manager to report this. He told me to close them myself. I explained that we were afraid to go outside due to the severe weather conditions, as we were two women alone. After that, he did not respond.
The following day, when the manager came to our tent, I informed him that the tent had flooded. He responded by saying that it was not his responsibility to close the tent.
We also accidentally broke a small bowl and paid for it without hesitation. However, we were later accused of urinating inside the tent and deliberately leaving it smelling, which is completely false. The smell and damage were caused by rainwater flooding the tent, not by us.
I could write an entire book about this experience. It is deeply disappointing because we booked this place with the intention of resting and starting the new year on a positive note. Instead, our stay has been turned into a nightmare over accusations that are completely untrue.
I’m genuinely happy for those who had a good experience here, but I sincerely hope no one else is treated the way we were. No one pays this amount of money to be made to feel as though they don’t belong.
My friend and I regularly book private bush lodges, but this experience was traumatising. Sadly, it has made us reconsider booking such accommodations again.
- Ennie (10/5): - The calm and quiet. The place was so peaceful My stay was too short
- Adelaide (7/5): Very average for the price - It gives you privacy and a bush experience. The staff was nice and very responsive For the price, the game drive and breakfast should be complementary. The coffee, water and bath essentials (bath salts, shower get etc) were not refilled daily. A full sized (or decent sized) mirror would be a nice addition. The sleeping tent wasn’t properly tightened as a result the shattering sound of the tent was too loud during windy weather. The sheets had a foul smell on the first day

- Alison (10/5): A magical place where you can unwind and truly enjoy the wild, within luxurious comfort ! - The breakfast is prepared on site and brought up to the lodges in picnic baskets with a tasty choice of croissants, jams, fruit juice and cheeses. Fabulous way to start the day on your own personal veranda without the chores of preparing it yourself.

The privacy is perfect for couples looking for a romantic, quiet getaway.
The walking trails are great.
We did get a complimentary cake and that was delicious and so thoughtful! We ordered the breakfast basket and it was extremely underwhelming and not worth the price.
There is not enough lighting around the outdoor bathtub (if you like taking a bath in the evenings).

- Busisiwe (9/5): Superb - Absolutely loved everything about the property, it’s beautifully built and well kept. I was not a fan of camping, but we definitely enjoyed camping the Bushveld Bivouac style.😄 The host Saskia was awesome, always available to engage us, and went out of her way to ensure that our needs were met. Russel, the Duty Manager was exceptional. They also surprised us with a yummy cake for our wedding anniversary celebration. Thank you Bushveld Bivouac Crew for making our experience so enjoyable, we’ll definitely be back soon. Driving there with a lower suspension car was not the smartest decision, considering it’s a camping area. An SUV is a must. Thanks to Russel for his assistance, we’ll definitely come back with a 4x4 next time😊
- Lauretta (10/5): We absolutely enjoyed our weekend here. The place exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back again soon. - Everything. Nothing. Everything was just as we saw it online.
- Nombuso (9/5): Beautiful place, great value for money, responsive staff. We had a great time overall on our short stay. Just add the mi - Amazing views and weather That’s it’s a self catering with no microwave and iron.
- Miya (7/5): Good - Paying fee for late check in. We had car issues and couldn’t be there on time. These things are unavoidable. Don’t understand why we must pay that much for checking in late, never ever seen this anywhere else.

- Antonette (10/5): What an amazing place, the owner of the place and Robert the manager went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant - It’s so private and beautiful, the set up is out of this world, we had the greatest time with my husband ❤️🥰 Their roads needs a bigger car, an SUV to be exact..We were driving a sport car, they tried though to put sand so that we can drive on their roads.
- Nzama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tshepiso (10/5): Exceptional - EVERYTHING!!! The staff was so friendly, I loved the privacy and the peacefulness. Nothing at all.
- Dian (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent views, comfortable bed and accommodation, super-friendly staff who are always willing to assist. N/A
- Kholwani (8/5): My stay was pleasant and relaxing, with beautiful surroundings, though a bit more comfort from air conditioning would ha - The bush accommodation offers a delightful experience with its scenic surroundings and high level of privacy, ensuring a peaceful retreat. The modern tent is beautifully designed, providing both comfort and style, while the available utensils meet basic cooking needs satisfactorily. Guests can enjoy the unique feature of an outdoor warm shower, adding a refreshing touch to the stay. Overall, the facilities are well-maintained and fulfill expectations. Not to forget the gentlemen who escorted us to the apartment on arrival, he made us feel at home keep it up I had a few issues. The Limpopo heat was intense and the lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable as the roof fan only circulated hot air. They should increase the solar system capacity to accommodate air conditioning, especially in hot seasons. Additionally, I had trouble getting my clothes ironed, which didn’t happen. Lastly, waiting up to 10 minutes at the gate raised safety concerns about potential hijacking.
- Thulane (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Food
- Mahlangu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oskido (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (8/5): Great - Peace and private It’s far from a lot of things
- Nelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastatia (8/5): Beautiful - peaceful and secluded could still hear trucks from the main road
the pool was extremely cold
- Betty (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronell (9/5): Beautiful Breakaway - The property was amazing, the fire pit and braining was great. It was really a good weekend away to breakaway from screens and enjoy the time outside ❤️ There was nothing not to like, besides in 38degree heat not having an aircon or portable fan was incredible unbearable, but the splash pool was great! Possibly look into the chlorine amount usage, there might be too much used in the pool.
- Gracious (10/5): A perfect bush experience - The scenary, the service, everything! Nothing.
- Mbele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tshimangadzo (10/5): Beautiful view and privacy - The location was accessable from the main road, the property was beautiful, clean and value of money. The view was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The outside toilet, i think it was going to make sense to have a toilet in the main chalet to avoiding walking to the toilet at night
- Mapunya (6/5): Pleasant - It was Bushveld where I saw some of the animal without game drive. Again peace of mind . What I didn't like it was the house on the pictures & the real house is not the same .
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional bush retreat - A real 5 star property. Amazing tranquility and beautiful surrounds. Accommodation well placed and private.
Self catering or catered for opportunities. Baskets on offer are well worth booking. Brilliant and caring staff.
- Itumeleng (10/5): Perfect - The scenery, the service was to die for. We were treated like royalty. Nothing everything was perfect in fact it exceeded my expectations
- Lemmer (9/5): Superb - A true sense of getting away from buzz of the city to truly connect with yourself and loved one . The fact that I was charged for a late check-in still doesn't seem fair taking into consideration the distance traveled and one not being familiar with the place
I suggest you do away with late check-in charges
- Vumbhoni (10/5): This place is truly heaven on earth. The property is amazing and the staff so friendly and welcoming - Everything. The place is definitely heaven on earth Nothing

- Delisile (9/5): An absolute bush life! - Completely off the grid None
- Xolile (10/5): Exceptional - The pool The attitude from the owner/staff a white man he is very rude .I ended up loosing my R5K
- Tshepo (7/5): We had a great stay except for the roads that led us to our camp! - The property was exceptional and had a peaceful view. The main roads within the private camp have mountain humps every 10 meters distance that they say they prevent the road rocks from being swept away by rain. Wouldn’t recommend any other car for travelling there except 4x4.
- Beven (10/5): Exceptional -
