Private Onsen was a great way to relax. Staff were very attentive and made us felt very welcome. Breakfast hour can be a bit later like around 9am or 9.30am. Happy Hour drinks a bit more variety of choices. More snacks would be good too.

Alongside coffee and tea. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and intimate. Everything is provided truly, towels, nightgowns, robes, yukatas, slippers for in the room and out the room. The onsens were clean and always empty when I attended. The room was so modern and clean, looked brand new. A true luxury stay and worth every penny. No tattoo covers provided unfortunately.

All the stuff was very friendly and helpful, we appreciated how welcoming they were. Our room was quite spacious and clean with many amenities. It had large windows with a beautiful panaromic view of the town. Their futon beds, down quilts and pillows were very comfortable to sleep on, we had a really good night sleep. Their onsen is also very clean and relaxing, especially the golden spring pool is great with a nice view. The silver spring pool is a little small, but we didnt experience any inconvenience. The lobby has a nice sitting area with many delicious complementary drinks and snacks. We really enjoyed our stay and we would like to come back again. Nothing

• Nirvigna Rajaguru (10/5): A gem of hospitality in a spectacularly beautiful town - The well maintained facilities. Clean and through. The breakfast was traditional and very tasty. The staff had an insurmountible amount of courtesy towards their guests. As this was our first time at an onsen - an area with rules of operation - the staff very patiently clarified our questions and made us feel at ease. Getting help in english was not a problem at all since we speak only a few words in Japanese. The Onsen was clean and had all the hygeine products and facilities to accomodate that. The public onsen room had a great view of the valley and both types of spring water. Overall, all of our travel aches and pains disappeared overnight. We didn't opt for the dinner at the onsen (one of our regrets), but were provided with a traditional Yukata to explore the town and were guided by the staff on where to find places to eat around the area. (Keep in mind that this town closes all shops by 6pm) In this amazing location at Arima onsen, Takayamaso Hanano has great views of the valley. Definitely recommended and would definitely stay here again at this facility

• Gordon (10/5): Really relaxing day and night in the middle of my trip. - A little tricky to find due to the sharp right turn back on yourself if you walk up the hill from bridge, but it's not that far a walk. You receive amazing service from the minute the staff realise you're a guest, coming out to greet you at the entrance. Everything was great with my one night stay, superb meal and breakfast, lovely big room with a view of the mountains and you won't see staff once you're checked-in unless you need them. This makes it so relaxing everywhere in the hotel. It was snowing when I was leaving, but the hotel gave me a ride up to the ropeway station. Nothing really.

• Daniel (9/5): Amazing Stay! - The hotel was a very nice and luxurious traditional Japanese Onsen accommodation. Everything in the hotel was of the highest quality. The staff were friendly and helped us at any time. My only critique is that the pillows in the room were not very comfortable. They would be completely at after 30 minutes of use; providing zero neck support.

• GOH JUANQ SHYAN (7/5): - I like the onsen and few minutes walk to main street for sightseeing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Reasonable price wines per glass for me to sit and drink and free coffee only from 7pm onwards. Limited facilities like no common eating restaurant in the hotel. I wish i can buy and drink the wines earlier than 7pm. Onsen also only open for guest to use from 3pm onwards. The dustbins in the room is just too small. Limited sockets in the room to charge our phones. Onsen i feel is too small if there will more than 7 persons.

• Lev (7/5): Quiet and comfortable hotel, but onsens are small and views are not great - Staff is helpful, hotel atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing with not many people there, traditional clothing is very comfortable and cool, rooms are spacious and comfortable, beds are very nice. Onsens are also nice and didn't have many people there. Views are not great, mostly overlooking other hotels. Overall the area looks really well, so we were a little disappointed with not having great views. Onsens are nice, but there are only 2 kinds, and the one which is outside has a fence which also doesn't help with the views. Regarding food, we only had breakfasts, they have a lot of variety, but we felt the taste was just fine, maybe we are just not used to traditional food.

• Angelina (10/5): Relaxing, laidback, but extremely clean stays & onsen - This was just so wonderful! The onsen was almost always empty when we went. It was clean, friendly, laid back, and had a toned-down feeling, which is exactly what we needed. Everyone kept the place immaculate but did not make us feel like we couldn't relax. There was just a tiny fee for the onsen usage, but otherwise everything was great! We weren't able to eat at the place, but so many restaurants and options were nearby. After staying here, we also realized that it was quite a famous onsen spot in Japan. How lucky! Nothing, all good!

• Koh (10/5): Beautiful small modern ryokan - Small ryokan - beautiful, very well decorated and modern. Stayed in one of their best rooms - which had a private onsen with the signature Arima waters (massive bonus). Exceedingly well appointed room. Had the half board package - attentive server (same one throughout the stay). Food included Kobe beef - exceptional. In the heart of Arima, it’s a short stroll down some steps to the Main Street where you can browse shops and have a light lunch / snacks. Plan to arrive in Arima about 3pm - you can avail of the hotel’s pickup service by calling them. it’s up a small hill. Even to reach the hotel, there are some old stone steps.
• Hye (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was welcoming, and their hospitality was great. Room condition was top-notch, and I have no complaints about it at all. Food quality was great, and public baths were quite small, but enough. Lots of master pieces maid me feel like staying in an exhibition. I will definitely come back. There was a minor communication issue since the staff was not fluent in English, but it couldn't depreciate our experience with this hotel.
• Modibo (10/5): A perfectly clean and relaxing hotel, with amazing thermal baths and attentive staff—ideal for recha - I had one of the most relaxing stays at this hotel. The thermal baths were absolutely incredible and truly an experience not to be missed. The cleanliness of the establishment is impeccable, and the staff takes great care of every guest. Everything is designed so you feel rested and completely relaxed from start to finish.

Very good food and service. Free beer and drinks in the lobby in the evening .Hotel decoration with art and flower compositions makes it look like a museum. Personal is very friendly and helpful. The price, and that the hotel is up the hill, ask for a transfer if you have lots of luggage.

• Ines (9/5): Superb - Interesting and VERY local experience, including the traditional Japanese breakfast, which included grilled salmon. The facilities were lovely and the onsen was extremely calm and clean, highly recommended. Note that the Onsen area is quite far from Kobe city (around 1 hour with public transportation) - so allow yourself some time if you are planning to visit Kobe. Very helpful staff - thru organised our bus back to Osaka and dropped us at the station. The property was not flexible at all when it comes to check in time, so make sure you don’t arrive before check in time or you will find yourself strolling around the area.

• Rachel (10/5): Lovely ryokan experience - Kaiseki dinner was great. Pricey, but it was an experience. Rooms were amply sized and clean and comfortable. Onsen was a little on the small size, but it was nice to soak in the two different hot springs. Wish the onsen was a little bigger, so it could accommodate more people comfortably.
• Regine (10/5): Great location. Great service. Room was more than what I expected. - I loved our room. Our hot bath was amazing and consistently stayed hot throughout the stay. Our room was very spacious. They provided us with all the necessities, yukatas to wear during dinner and pajamas. The massage chair in the room was a plus. I loved the location! If you just walk to the left of the hotel, you will reach a stairwell that leads directly to the arima onsen town area! Easy to walk around town. The staff were excellent and spoke English very well. It was easy to communicate with them. The way to reach the hotel by transportation. It's a very steep hill. Either call for a taxi service to drop you directly up the narrow and steep hill, or utilize the hotels free transportation services.

• Joleen (9/5): Relaxing stay; would come back again for the room. - Transport was provided to and from the station and luggage was carried to the room as well. Was exceptionally pleased with the room which came with two baths and even a sauna. I could take a bath in the comfort of my own room whenever and I liked it better than the public bath. The room was also spacious and had plenty of amenities. View from the room and the complimentary mini bar was great. Staff were wonderful. The pace of dinner could be slightly better. Didn’t ask but would be nice if drinks from the mini bar could be brought down to dinner.
