Guest Reviews
- Elaine Gangan (8/5): Comfortable - Room was extremely spacious and a great bed .
My partner and I enjoyed our stay. We didn't like that they did kir even provide us with even some tea or coffee....there was no extras like soap or handwash available.
- hector (1/5): - Nothing because you gave me wrong location
- Tenike (3/5): This was the worst experience of your lives and will not recommend this to anyone - The caretake was friendly and that's all Inaccurate website description of the the property and the location takes you to the wrong address.
Arriving at the gate, that was a disaster on it's own. Graffiti on the gate
no towel railings
Tried to phone the owner to upgrade without success where the other cottages was available and up until today there was no response from Bridgette.
- Siphesihle (10/5): exactly like pictures, close to everything, safe and clean....... - Cleanliness, beautiful place and everything as shown in pictures +helpful staff. Also close to everything, convenient location yet still safe and quiet..................

. Not easy to drive out of the property for an average driver because of the steep at the gate ( not the property owner's fault though )

- Mzimela (7/5): -
- Ezmar (9/5): - Am happy about the treatment from the staff, manager he is very kind . its a bit far with the main beach and other activities.
- Kopano (7/5): It was okay. But was not Value for Money. - The bed was supper comfortable and the WiFi was very efficient. There was secure parking on the property also. The TV is a smart TV. The fact that there is no housekeeping on site. How you leave the room in the morning is how you get it back when you come back. Also the shower is a bath tub stand in shower. You only get one towel.
- Vanessa (3/5): -
- K (8/5): Cool, calm and collected with warm company - The privacy and artistic layout of the place It was a little small but fairly decent in space
- Morais (1/5): Terrible, never again - but the se service is terrible, the house don't have any information outside. Second the pleople that have the number on booking or managing is very rude and disrespectful. On my check-out date I had missing understand and the cleaner went to the room moving my things around . The did not trying to speak with me they just went on the room put my stuff out. The check-in time was at 10h00 and I was just late for 45 minutes. Iit's unacceptable. Horrible. People. And i experience power off for 24hours. Terrible
- Sir-Sanchez (7/5): - They must clean rooms and be friendly with guests. Rude host and not cleaning
- Chloe (1/5): - Nothing
- Desiree (5/5): Comfortable but noisy guests a problem at all hours of the night and early am - Noisy guests very very noisy
Toaster faulty
Parking and exit entrance difficult
Chipped crockery
- Ferreira (9/5): - I recently stayed at Savannah Boutique Guest Suite in Durban North with my family for two weeks, and it was a fantastic experience! The suite is located in a very safe area, making us feel secure throughout our stay. Getting there was a breeze, thanks to the continuous communication from Bridget and Emmanuel, who were both excellent hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The suite itself was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Durban North! N/A
- Ntlangulela (8/5): - I only liked the caretaker he was so friendly and understanding. He tried by all means to make us comfortable as possible he went an extra mile to make us feel at home. They offered us 1 room yet i specified i need a place for 3 adults we were so cramped no word ropes we were wearing from suitcases from day1 for 11 days. we requested to change the room we were not allowed. Yet other rooms were free if we had a nice room every year we were going to be regulars
But unfortunately we have to look again unless they can offer us a better room nexttime.
- Levena (1/5): I left after one night due to poor conditions, restrictive rules, and the despicable, hostile and disgusting conduct of - Absolutely nothing !. The accommodation was substandard and not suitable for a holiday stay. There were no basic amenities such as soap, body wash, or shampoo. The WiFi was unreliable, there was constant noise from vehicles coming in and out, and the room lacked proper storage. The rules were extremely restrictive, to the point where it felt more like a prison than a guesthouse. Overall, the environment was uncomfortable and stressful
- Natalie (8/5): - The room was perfect for our stay. It was missing tea spoons but otherwise had everything we needed in terms of crockery and cutlery There were no towel rails or hooks in the bathroom so we could not hang up wet towels to dry after taking a shower.
- Sthembaye (7/5): -
- Philasande (6/5): The stay was good but finding the location was hard and stressful - The place was clean It was hard to find the place, the address provided does not match the actual location. Also, when I tried to call to get assistance with the location nobody was picking up.
- Bayat (10/5): -
- Madlala (9/5): Enjoy the quietness of the area, privacy and comfort. - The comfort of the bed and cleanliness The lack of essential such as soap
- Maxine Chetty (4/5): -
- Desiree (6/5): - Bed shower good Size location noisy guests
- Willem (7/5): - Nice location very comfortable with good facilities Trying to contact the property was impossible. They did not answer any messages or mails and I only received the check in details by email after I arrived. They need to be more proactive in their communication
- Willem (8/5): -
- Mhlongo (1/5): -
- FARHANA (10/5): - We always use this facility. The host is wonderful and accomodating Just that the aircon needs to be fixed.
- Thandazani (3/5): -
- Kerwyn (8/5): -
- Nonkanyiso (10/5): Met every expectation - Everything Having to walk to shopping centers
- Sthabile (10/5): - Everything N/A
- leah (8/5): - . .
- Prosad (7/5): Good needs work done - Caretaker real friendly and helpful. Room comfortable. Wifi stable. Parking a nightmare. Paving real bad. Wooden staircases with hand rails needs to be treated. Bath needed to be re enamled, couldn't bath. Stand in bath to use shower but not stable because bath became slippery. Fridge needs to be fixed and maybe a bit bigger. Thought should be given for people staying more than a week, kitchen needs work.
- Jeff (6/5): A good place to rest for the evening - The space is child friendly and the bed was comfortable for child and her mother.
Tv worked well and there was hot water. The place was extremely difficult to find, as no specific address was provided—only a street name and a vague location from app that initially led to the wrong house. I called multiple times, but the phone went unanswered until several minutes later, after driving up and down the road and likely appearing suspicious especially after entering the wrong property.
Eventually, I was given the correct address when the owner finally answered the call. There was also no response to emails.
The caretaker was not welcoming, although I understand that there had been a delay in receiving the booking information from owner. The check-in process could be significantly improved with clearer communication to both staff and guests.
Luckily the guest was over prepared as no soap was provided nor kitchen perishables.
- Ngqenga (3/5): Dirty bedding - It was affordable. The property is not like in the pictures. It’s definitely not clean, the decorative pillows had stains. I wish you could smell the rooms through the pictures. They do not wash the bedding, it smelt like someone was just there. When you walk into a room, you want it to smell nice especially the bedding, you know smell like washing powder and fabric softener. This one, so disgusting. The pillows were wrinkled which showed that they check someone out, don’t even bother to wash the bedding and check someone in in the afternoon. The caretaker is sooo noisy. The policy about keeping it down is only applicable to the guests apparently because he will talk on the phone so loudly. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for becuase it was weirdly affordable.
- Msimango (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sungano (1/5): Bad -
- Sam (8/5): Good for families. - It's very clean and spacious. I also like that it's self-catering and cutlery and crockery are both provided.
It has a ceiling fan and an Aircon.
Emmanuel is very friendly and helpful.
My child (4mo) seemed to enjoy the place. It's hard to find and it's on a very busy road, so it would be great to have a board outside.
- Simphiwe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farhana (8/5): Very good - Host was exceptional The aircon didn't work but they were more than happy to give us a fan
- Gugulethu (6/5): Mixed emotions - The place is beautiful and the room was beautiful and cozy. It had everything we needed. It was difficult to get to the location. Directions are not clear and the numbers provided were on voice-mail . We had to park by the gate for hours not knowing what to do. It was a horrible experience.
- Siphokazi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Xorile (5/5): Passable -
- Amahle (7/5): Good -
- Ameera (5/5): Passable - The location is quiet. Firstly, the telephone numbers don't go through.Major red flag. The address that shows on the Map is wrong. The right address is 86 Kenneth Kaunda Road,Durban North. The caretaker there was worried we were going to steal something because we from Mthatha. Its very sad, because I'm black and from Mthatha, they automatically judged us as thiefs. There is nothing valuable in that brothel.Yes.I believe they are running a rent by the hour guest house. No wifi.I was told to use my own
- Thabo (8/5): Very good -

- Lynne (6/5): Pleasant - place clean and good size. the fact no complimentary hand soaps and the mini guest shampoo things were not supplied. Not even bottled water and ice. first place I've experienced this. I think this would help future guests too
- Stevens (9/5): Superb - The staff were very helpful and lovely. (Thankyou Emanuel for all your assistance.)
- Mpengi (7/5): We think it's a really nice place just need a little improvement. - The place is located in a very convenient place, it's near to the beach, mabida, and restaurants.
The room was very neat and had almost everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed our stay in this place. We were booked for 3 nights and we were not offered any room service especially to change the bed linen, we had to use the same linen and that was not nice.
There was no hand soap and lotion in the bathroom.
We would also appreciated to have wine /champagne glasses in our room.
- Ryan (1/5): Excellent place. Terrible service. - The place was good. It was nice and clean. Good restroom and facilities. The service was terrible. I sent a message on booking.com to ask if I could check in early and I was told it would be fine all I have to do is call a guy when I'm there. When I arrived at the place I was told that I could not come in... it was raining outside and we had to walk all the way from the place to the nearest restaurant just to get shelter. Leaving the place was also a hassle as my Uber was literally 5 minutes away but the staff made us pack up and leave immediately. Terrible service.

Really Loved The Well-Made Designs As We All The Utensils Provided...
The Beds- Super Comfy! Felt As If We Slept And Woke Up On Feathers...
Overall, Amazing Stay! The 1 Thing That Could Be Better Is The Kitchen Sink...
It Was Sealed Close And We Had To Use The Bathroom Sink Tap...
Other Than That, We Loved Everything About It!
- Mzimela (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jana (6/5): Pleasant - Very Central, the bed was very comfortable! The unit definitely needs a bit of maintenance. And TLC.
- Cheldon (7/5): Good - Beds were comfortable Parking was a little tight
- Tana (7/5): Good -
- Sam (4/5): Disappointing - Size of the house Very old
Not clean
What we saw on the advert is not what we got
- Mabhengu (8/5): Very good - The place is nice and it isn't far from Ushaka Marine about 10 minutes drive, Closer to Florida road and about 24 minutes to the airport, very clean and quite place They didn't change our towels until we had to ask, they didn't clean either, The two twin beds put together to make a double bed is very uncomfortable
- Chantell (5/5): Passable -
- Kasongo (4/5): Mediocre - The location was great. The place was clean. The place offers accommodation and that's all you'll get. I got the street name, but the owner never sent the street number. Ended up driving up and down the street, I couldn't get a hold of the owner easily, eventually after about 30 min I got through to the owner who insisted that the address was sent, only to receive the address after I have checked in. The accommodation does not provide any soap in the bathroom. This is not disclosed in the booking details. The blinds fell off the window whilst trying to close it, therefore being woken up to a very bright room in the morning, disturbing my rest. Sent the owner a message for which I received no response.
- Cameron (9/5): Lovely place, worth your money. - The room was beautiful and clean. Bed was very comfortable…. Décor and bathroom finishes very lovely. It was extremely difficult to find. I wish they would post the physical address because the location link is very vague.
- Lindelwa (7/5): Good -
- Chili (10/5): Exceptional - Their Service Their Password WiFi
- Nokwanda (7/5): Good -
- Taliep (5/5): No water or coffee available, no shop nearby - Sheets and kitchen cloths
- Mngadi (10/5): Exceptional - The property is very elegant. If you are considering a place to stay be assured this will be a good value for your money. The rooms on the site are as advertised on the pictures and they are neat. However note the location will be sent to you prior to your arrival. The number on the their website only works during operating hours.
