Guest Reviews
- Ryan (9/5): Pretty Villa, beautiful location. - It's very close to everything, 30 seconds driver to main street of Daylesford. The layout if the Villa makes it feel very open and spacious. Driving up the long driveway (although tight) gives it a good sense of being very private. The autumn leaves and landscaping around the property were very pretty. The gravel driveway entrance is very step and falling apart, you need an SUV/4x4 to get up without scraping the ground
- SHINJITA (10/5): Cosy, elegant and super convenient. - The property is really beautifully designed and very well maintained. I loved that is has ample light entering every room. The garden is very cute and intimate. Great location, and has all amenities, including the special perk of a hot tub! We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely want to return to it someday. Nothing to not like. We liked everything about the place.
- Marita (10/5): -
- Teresa (9/5): Absolutely loved staying there and would book again if returning to Daylesford. - Stylish and comfortable home with a charming atmosphere. View out to autumn gardens was superb. Bed was very comfortable. There wasn’t any washing machine facilities or at least a clothes rack. Heater turned off when tv was turned on.
- Leighton (9/5): -
- Renee (9/5): - Bed was so comfy. Had everything we needed. All very neat and pretty. The bath took over and hour to fill and getting the right temp was tricky.
- Allan (9/5): Three nights stay but would have enjoyed longer. - We provided our own breakfast or went into town 5 minutes up the road. Well presented cottage with lovely garden. would recommend to others and return in the future. I thought it would be convenient if the property had the following: A broom, dust pan and brush to tidy up crumbs etc. Perhaps face washers in the bathroom. Otherwise there was everything you might need for a comfortable holiday.
- Zoe (10/5): Gorgeous - Absolutely gorgeous little (although very spacious!) cottage, super clean and cosy and great location - close to the lake and the shops. Only the things mentioned in previous reviews - steep driveway, no face towels, bed was super soft (not necessarily a bad thing!)
- Tanya (9/5): Wonderful location & very relaxing ! - Lovely garden ! Close to the lake . Walking distance to town .Very comfortable bed !
- Amanda (8/5): Very pleasant - Space & comfort Lack of towels especially hand towels
- Tamara (9/5): -
- Mark (10/5): We loved the Daylesford Lake Garden Villas, 10/10! - Location, beautiful fitout/colour palette, garden setting, verandah, heating and cooling Faux flowers/plants in courtyard
- Peter (10/5): Spacious and comfortable stay near the heart of Daylesford - Clean
Modern
Spacious
Comfortable
Walking distance to central Daylesford and the lake
Property on the main road but quiet as a mouse
Lovely garden outlook Steep(ish) gravel driveway may not suit all cars
- Marion (10/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): Great location and on the whole a comfortable, spacious place to stay. Would stay again - The place was roomy and spacious and located directly across
the road from the restaurant we were dining at and a short walk to town.
The kitchen facilities were good and there was a good supply of plates, cutlery etc. The heating was a little hard to operate and we couldnt find instructions
The TV didnt work at all on the second day of our stay
There was a courtyard that couldnt be accessed which had plastic pot plants
on it (yet somehow the pots had weeds). Not great for a place that was $400 plus per night
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Molly (10/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): Lovely property, heating not good. - Heating the property was very cold.
- Christopher (7/5): Besides the television problem, the stay was pleasurable. - Very pretty, bed very comfortable, very clean The television wasn’t working properly, to the point of being unviewable. When we contacted the owner at 3:30pm on Tuesday, he said he would ring back in 5 minutes. He rang the next day at midday, with a way to fix it.
- Pammus (8/5): We had a lovely stay in Daylesford. - Very well appointed for a short stay. Driveway in to property needs upgrade.
- cheryl (9/5): -
- Jan (10/5): Wonderful. I would definitely stay again. - I stayed in the Capri Villa at the front of the property. The villa was beautifully appointed. The bed was fantastic, very comfortable, great shower, great lighting in bathroom, fantastic heating, convenient parking and overall a lovely place to stay. Nothing!
- Dax (9/5): -
- Gab (10/5): - STUNNING property. Was the most magical stay.
- Joanne (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a beautiful setting. - Great location across the road from The Lake House, where we had dinner one night.
The views of the garden from the front windows were lovely. Not essential, but a hairdryer and face washers for the bathroom would have been nice.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Lovely property. Light filled, spacious and comfortable. Nothing, but a full length mirror would be great.
- Bec (10/5): - Amazing amenities, great location, extremely comfortable
- Lisa (9/5): - The villa was gorgeous. The bed frame. It made it a little tricky to get up into bed. My partner tried to have a bath but he could only fill the water to about 10 centimeter's and then water went cold so he had to get out.
- Ralph (10/5): -
- Molly (10/5): - The villa was beautiful and great location!! We will definitely be staying there again!
- Sandra (7/5): -
- Corrin (10/5): Perfect for a little getaway. - Great space, lots of natural light, perfect location and excellent kitchen ammenities.
- Kym (8/5): The property was modern and clean and in a great location just near the lake for some lovely walks - Modern and clean
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (10/5): It felt like we where away from everything yet so close to the town centre - Was nice and big for a couple very warm and cozy Nothing it was perfect
- Zivko (10/5): Exceptional - Nice property in very good location. It was equipped with everything we needed for the over the weekend stay.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about the property.
Would loved to have stayed longer to continue to enjoy the Villa.
- Ilona (2/5): Gorgeous guesthouse but terrible mattress - Gorgeous property with a beautiful outlook on the garden. The property is actually one house cleverly designed and divided into two guesthouses. The rear is quieter as the road is quite busy. All excellent except for the dreadful bed which was impossible to sleep in. It was once a super delux mattress but now suffers from deep body impressions. Truly awful. The uncomfortable Mattress and the potholed driveway.
- Delia (10/5): A spacious, stylish villa. Ideal for a romantic getaway! - The villa was light, clean, spacious and beautiful. We loved the stylish interiors, the well-appointed kitchen, the comfortable bed, and the large modern bathroom. We appreciated the quality heating systems keeping the villa warm, including the cosy faux fire.
- Dot (8/5): Very comfortable to stay. A bit more cupboard space and some drawers to unpack into would be great. - The kitchen was lovely even though we didn't use it except to make a cuppa. It was hard to find at nighttime and lighting and signage not good.
What we didn't like and it will stop us coming again was the driveway. It is shocking to get up and no room to turn around so you had to reverse to get out. If we had my husbands car we would not have got up the driveway. So a NO for us.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Luke (8/5): Very good -
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gail (10/5): Lake Garden Villas is beautiful, warm and well furnished with a super comfy bed! - Lake Garden Villas is beautiful, warm and well furnished with a super comfy bed! Well appointed kitchen but all I used was the coffee machine. Great weekend getaway. Downside the driveway up to the villa needs repair and thankfully it did not rain on the weekend! The plastic plants in beautiful glazed pots a bit kitsch!
- Bree (10/5): Beautiful Accomodation and would definately recommend. - N/A Only think it was missing was face cloth in the bathroom.
- Alison (10/5): Had a wonderful time in our enchanted mini Versailles - The place was gorgeous and close to the lake as well as walking distance to town. We absolutely loved the decor! Personally I would have preferred a harder mattress but everything else was amazing.
- Irena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Perfect weekend stay - Great Villa, super comfy bed and convenient to everywhere we needed to go in Daylesford.
- Louise (7/5): Good - Lovely interiors
Comfortable bed
Good location Gardens need some major maintenance as it looks very different from the advertised photos - lots of weeds etc - not very well kept
No free to air TV
Driveway is steep and you have to back down onto a main road
Linen was left on the verandah for our entire stay
- Melissa (7/5): Pleasant, good location. - Lovely decor and styling, lots of natural light and bushy outlook. 10 minute walk into town which I enjoyed as I got exercise each day. Netflix/Pay TV proved difficult to use but the property manager was great in offering assistance. This should really be fixed as for what you pay you should be able to enjoy watching Netflix etc. Garden could use a good tidy up which would improve the overall feel of the place. Fake plants in internal courtyard seem a bit out of place in that setting, would encourage the owner to replace with natural plants as they would thrive in that environment and the fake plants are very unattractive.
- Anthony (10/5): Very relaxing - location was excellent - particularly the rear garden outlook and general proximity to the lake and town centre
- Diana (10/5): Excellent will return again. - Everything was excellent 👌 Nil
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (9/5): The facilities and cleanliness were outstanding furniture and appliances were virtually brand new - Breakfast not provided
Location was quite convenient but difficult to find
Lovely to have cling wrap etc available
Ample supplies of coffee tea and sugar
Good quality toilet paper and bathing gels were very much appreciated
We were extremely happy with bath which was exceptional
As mentioned down further furniture and appliances were virtually brand new Some minor items such as no robes or slippers
No place mats
Free to air tv was not available had to rely on Netflix for viewing
Could not get the oven to operate
Some ordinary size cups and smallish bowls would have been good options
Some clothes hooks in the bathroom and more clothes hangers in the wardrobe would be appreciated
The driveway could do with some maintenance first time backing out was difficult
- Penelope (9/5): Superb -
- Hayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trevor (9/5): Great place to base yourself if you want to do some day trips around Daylesford. Would definitely recommend these Villas - Location. We had a lunch with friends at the Lakehouse restaurant and our villa was just across the road. Great place to stay. Nothing
- Amanda (9/5): A lovely few days away in a gorgeous villa. Extremely relaxing and comfortable stay. - Great location close to Daylesford Lake and the main street. Very clean and comfortable inside.
Beautifully decorated with new furniture and appliances. The only thing I didn’t like were the bedroom pillows which were either too soft and airy or too hard but I’m fussy with pillows!
I would bring my own pillow next time.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Well needed short getaway and the property just made it perfect. Exceeded our expectations, thank y. - Clear instructions Driveway is dicey to back out of, especially at night.
- Hunter (10/5): A perfect staycation and weekend well spent, will definitely be going back. - Everything N/A

- Ashleigh (8/5): Very good -
- Porchae (9/5): Superb - Location, Atmosphere
- Jacqui (9/5): Superb - Beautiful, clean and modern villa. Has everything you need, ample heating and amenities. Full size kitchen. Great location! Hosts changed my booking date last minute at my request which I appreciated! Everything was great. Only slight negative was the privacy screen separating the villas is noisy at night if there wind or rain. It also came off the clip a couple of times. Maybe something more solid would be better.
- Lillie (8/5): Very good -
- Dolly (9/5): Superb -
- Zevia (8/5): Gorgeous little villa across from the lake and a short walk to town centre. Very comfortable with everything you need. A - Everything
- Carolyn (9/5): wonderful - lovely warm and homely feel. very comfortable good location

- Saja (10/5): Everything was beautiful, cant complain about anything. - Everything beautiful, Host was quick with replies and very easy to talk to. Very clean place. Bed was so comfortable. Place was easy to find and very close to all the shops. Host allowed an early check in which we highly appreciated. Thank you! Everything was great! Thank you.
- Helen (7/5): Good - Nicely furnished. Located on a busy road so a bit noisy.
- Garry (9/5): Superb -
- Ranee (10/5): Excellent value, very close to lake and town.
Comfortable bed and furnishings. - Lovely accommodation, very clean and tidy in a great location.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - Location couldn’t get better for attending a wedding at the lake house.
Stunning property, very comfortable. The towels, you need more. There was only one each for a 2 night stay.
- Cheryl (7/5): Good -
- Diane (9/5): Lovely. I would definitely go again. And I now want to redecorate my house to imitate this villa!!! - The decor was gorgeous; the bed was huge and sooo comfortable; the main photo on the site was not evident, but there was more than one villa, so it might have related to that. Also, in the email telling us the keycode, it did say that there had been some changes, and the pics might not reflect the current appearance. We didn't care because we found everything to be lovely. We only got one large bath towel each, but there were no hand towels, face washers or bathmats, so our one towel each had to be multipurpose. The position is brilliant as it is very close to the shops - perhaps a less ten-minute walk, but it is relatively steep, so I couldn't walk it due to a bad knee. Most people would find it a doddle.

- Huynh (10/5): Awesome stay, very clean and close to town. - Very clean! Loved the design and furnishing with great natural lighting. Beautiful little stay. Probably getting in and out of the driveway at night was a bit sketchy as it was hard to see and it was very steep.
- Penni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (10/5): Our villa was perfect for everything we needed . It was very cold in Daylesford but our villa was warm and cozy with the - Everything was perfect for us . not a dislike but an added bonus would have been a television in the bed room .
